The church of Sant'Alò is an early-medieval Roman Catholic church in Terni, Umbria, in Italy. It is dedicated to Saint Eligio (Aloysius), patron of the jewelers. Putatively built atop the site of an Ancient Roman temple, this church was originally built in the 12th century, and granted by the bishop to an order of cloistered Augustinian monks, who built an adjacent monastery. The interior is heavily frescoed, including fragments of a 12th-century Crucifixion. The walls and facade incorporate spolia, including marble lion depictions, from Roman ruins.

Palazzo Spada is a palace in Terni, Umbria, central Italy, built on behest of Count Michelangelo Spada in the mid-16th century and designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. It currently serves as the town hall for the city. Alexandre de Rogissart wrote about the palace in the eighteenth century, remarking the beauty of its structure. The inner lounges are decorated with cinquecento frescoes, which were supplemented with newer decorations in the 18th century. The palace passed to the Massarucci family in the 19th century and subsequently was given to the Sisters of the Infant Jesus. After being handed over to the municipal administration of Terni, it was restored to render it fit for its new role as the city's town hall. The main floor rooms are decorated with frescoes dating from the second half of the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. Central to the ceiling of the main hall, which is currently used as the seat of the city council, is a representation of Phaëton punished by Jupiter; at the sides are depicted, in six panels, scenes from the Battle of Lepanto and the Massacre of the Huguenots. The frescoes in the main lounge, which are painted in a late-Mannerist style, are traditionally attributed to Karel van Mander. Beneath the vault are landscapes, alternating with coats of arms of popes and bishops, prominent among them the one of Pope Julius III, who made Michelangelo Spada a count.

The province of Terni (Italian: provincia di Terni) is the smaller of the two provinces in the Umbria region of Italy, comprising one-third of both the area and population of the region. Its capital is the city of Terni. The province came into being in 1927, when it was carved out of the original unitary province of Umbria. The province of Terni has an area of 2,122 km2 and a population of 228,836 (2016). There are 33 comuni (sg.: comune) in the province. In June 2006, the only comuni (municipalities) with a population over 10,000 were Terni, Orvieto, Narni and Amelia.

The Diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia (Latin: Dioecesis Interamnensis-Narniensis-Amerina) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Umbria, central Italy. It was created in 1983, when the Diocese of Amelia was united with the Diocese of Terni and Narni. The latter had been in turn created in 1907, when the Diocese of Narni was united to the historical Diocese of Terni. The diocese is immediately exempt to the Holy See, not part of any ecclesiastical province.

Terni Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Terni, Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Terni, Umbria, Italy, and the seat of the bishop of Terni-Narni-Amelia. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Terni ( TAIR-nee; Italian: [ˈtɛrni] ; Latin: Interamna (Nahars)) is a city in the southern portion of the region of Umbria, in Central Italy. It is near the border with Lazio. The city is the capital of the province of Terni, located in the plain of the River Nera. It is 104 kilometres (65 miles) northeast of Rome and 81 km south of the regional capital, Perugia. The Latin name means "between-two-rivers", in reference to its location on the confluence of the Nera river (Ancient Umbrian Nahar, Latin: Nār, Nahar) and the Serra stream. When disambiguation was needed, it was referred to as Interamna Nahars. Its inhabitants were known in Latin as Interamnātēs Na(ha)rtēs. Interamna was founded as an Ancient Roman town, albeit settlements in the Terni area well precede this occurrence. During the 19th century, steel mills were introduced and led the city to have a role in the Second Industrial Revolution in Italy. Because of its industrial importance, the city was heavily bombed during World War II by the Allies. It remains an industrial hub and has been nicknamed "The Steel City". Terni is also known as the "City of Lovers", as its patron saint, Saint Valentine, was born and became a bishop here, and the remains are preserved in the basilica-sanctuary in his honour.

Terni railway station (Italian: Stazione di Terni) serves the town and comune of Terni, in the region of Umbria, central Italy. Opened in 1866, it forms part of the Ancona–Orte railway, and is also a junction station for two secondary lines, the Terni–Sulmona railway and the Terni–Sansepolcro railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by or on behalf of Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. Regional train services on the Terni–Sansepolcro railway are operated by Ferrovia Centrale Umbra, which sub-contracts on behalf of Trenitalia.

The Stadio Libero Liberati is a multi-use stadium in Terni, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and the home of Ternana Unicusano Calcio. The stadium was built in 1969 and holds 17,460. The stadium was named after Libero Liberati, a motorcycle racer who died in 1962.

The Santa Lucia Stroncone Astronomical Observatory (Italian: Osservatorio Astrometrico Santa Lucia Stroncone) is an astronomical observatory located at 350 metres (1,150 ft) altitude in Stroncone, near the city of Terni, in Umbria, north central Italy. It is an active center for the discovery of asteroids. Stroncone is also known as IAU/MPC observatory 589. It is located at longitude 12º38'24"E, latitude 42º30'55"N. The main-belt asteroid 5609 Stroncone, discovered by amateur astronomer Antonio Vagnozzi at Stroncone in 1993, was named after the suburb where the discovering observatory is located.

The Velino is a river in central Italy, a tributary of the Nera. Its source is located on Monte Pozzoni's slopes (1,903 m) near Cittareale. Aftwards, it runs through a narrow valley next the Mount Terminillo, known as "Gole del Vento" ("Wind's Ravines") and, near Antrodoco, receives the Peschiera Springs, which have a discharge of some 18 m³/s (9.5 m³/s is sent to Rome) through an aqueduct. Then, it receives the waters of its left tributaries Salto and Turano, and then enters the plain of Rieti, where its discharge if further increased by other minor streams to reach 60 m³/s. Near Papigno, it falls into the Nera forming the famous Cascate delle Marmore falls. In pre-Roman times, the river ended in a marsh within the plain of Rieti. The falls were created by consul Manius Curius Dentatus and enlarged in medieval times, being updated to the current state in the 18th century by architect Andrea Vici.

The Cascata delle Marmore (Italian: [kaˈskaːta delle ˈmarmore]) or Marmore Falls is a tiered, man-made waterfall in Italy, created by the Romans in 271 BC. At 165m (541 feet) tall, it is the largest man-made waterfall in the world. It is located 7.7 km from Terni, in the region of Umbria.

Cesi is a frazione of the Italian comune of Terni, in the province of Terni, southern Umbria, Italy. The small borgo, which retains its late-medieval aspect, set among olive groves, lies "stretched out lengthwise along a narrow contour on the slopes of M. Torre Maggiore," about 18 km north of Terni at an altitude of 437 m, one of the southernmost peaks of the Monti Martani. As of 2001 there were 682 residents.
