Ebrington Barracks

HMS Ferret was a shore establishment and naval base of the Royal Navy during the Second World War, located in Derry. It was given a ship's name as a stone frigate.

St. Columb’s Park is a 70-acre (28 ha) municipal park in Derry, Northern Ireland. The park is named after St. Columba, who is the city's patron saint. The park contains the ruins of a medieval church, an 18th century manor house, as well as many modern amenities such as a leisure centre and sports pitches. The park has undergone many improvement works in recent decades as part of a redevelopment of the wider area. In 2011 the Peace Bridge was opened, which provides the park with a direct connection into the heart of the city centre via the developed Ebrington Square which hosted the British Army until 2002. In 2015 the new leisure centre, Foyle Arena, was opened at a cost of £12 million and contains a swimming pool, gym, and climbing wall as well as other amenities.In July 2019 a revamped entrance into the park was opened at a cost of £385,000. The work changed the route of the road that leads to St. Columb’s Park House to improve safety and included a grand new entrance gate. Work is also being done to reopen the old walled garden of the manor house.Since the completion of the Waterside Greenway the park has a direct pedestrian and cycle path that connects to both the Peace Bridge and Gransha Park. There are plans to extend the Greenway further which will connect Strathfoyle directly to the park.

The Peace Bridge is a cycle and foot bridge across the River Foyle in Derry, Northern Ireland. It opened on 25 June 2011, connecting Ebrington Square with the rest of the city centre. It is the newest of three bridges in the city, the others being the Craigavon Bridge and the Foyle Bridge. The 235 metres (771 ft) bridge was designed by AECOM, who also designed the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, and Wilkinson Eyre Architects, who also designed the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. The bridge was opened to the public by EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn; accompanied by the First and deputy First Ministers, Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness; and the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny. It is intended to improve relations between the largely unionist Waterside on the east bank with the largely nationalist Cityside on the west bank, by improving access between these areas, as part of wider regeneration plans. The bridge also provides a crossing over the railway line approaching Waterside station. The asymmetrical bridge, which is 235 m (770 ft) long and 4 m (13 ft) metre wide, is supported by two sloping pillars and symbolises a coming-together of the two communities. Its curved footpath, track and cycleway link the Guildhall, in the centre of the city, with Ebrington Square in the Waterside area, and St. Columb's Park.

Derry Workhouse was a workhouse in Derry, Northern Ireland. Located in the Waterside area of the city, the workhouse operated from 1840 to 1948.

Derry ~ Londonderry railway station, also known as North West Transport Hub or Waterside railway station (and formerly just Londonderry railway station), is a railway terminus in Derry, Northern Ireland, on the east bank of the River Foyle, operated by Northern Ireland Railways. It is on the Belfast–Derry railway line, terminating at Belfast Great Victoria Street.

Foyleside Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Derry, Northern Ireland. Construction started in the early 1990s and the centre opened on 25 September 1995. As of April 2023 the centre is 98% let across 50 units. The centre is spread over a 6.99 acre site in the city centre of Derry. The centre is anchored by Marks & Spencer, Frasers & Dunnes Stores. The shopping centre is built into the centre of the city and although it is not on the bank, it does overlook the River Foyle.

The Guildhall in Derry, Northern Ireland, is a guildhall in which the elected members of Derry City and Strabane District Council meet. It is a Grade A listed building.

Derry, officially Londonderry, is the largest city in County Londonderry, the second-largest in Northern Ireland and the fifth-largest on the island of Ireland. The old walled city lies on the west bank of the River Foyle, which is spanned by two road bridges and one footbridge. The city now covers both banks (Cityside on the west and Waterside on the east). The population of the city was 85,279 at the 2021 census, while the Derry Urban Area had a population of 105,066 in 2011. The district administered by Derry City and Strabane District Council contains both Londonderry Port and City of Derry Airport. Derry is close to the border with County Donegal, with which it has had a close link for many centuries. The person traditionally seen as the founder of the original Derry is Saint Colmcille, a holy man from Tír Chonaill, the old name for almost all of modern County Donegal, of which the west bank of the Foyle was a part before 1610.In 2013, Derry was the inaugural UK City of Culture, having been awarded the title in 2010.

The Millennium Forum is a theatre and conference centre in Newmarket Street, Derry, Northern Ireland. It was the first purpose-built theatre in Derry and opened in 2001. It has a seating capacity of 1,000 and the largest theatre stage in Ireland. It hosts entertainment of all kinds and can also be used as a meeting and conference venue.

The Craigavon Bridge is one of three bridges in Derry, Northern Ireland. It crosses the River Foyle further south than the Foyle Bridge and Peace Bridge. It is one of only a few double-decker road bridges in Europe. It was named after Lord Craigavon, the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland. The present bridge was designed by the City Architect, Matthew A Robinson. Construction began in the late 1920s and was finished in 1933. The lower deck of the bridge originally carried a railway line for freight wagons, but that was replaced by a road in 1968. At each end, a silhouetted mural of a railway station stands to mark the former railway. On 3 July 1968, as part of a series of protests against housing conditions in Derry, the Derry Housing Action Committee (DHAC) held a sit-down protest on the newly opened second deck of the Craigavon Bridge.A pair of bronze statues forming a sculpture entitled Hands Across the Divide are situated at the west end of Craigavon Bridge in Carlisle Square and were produced by Derry sculptor Maurice Harron.

The Richmond Centre is a large shopping centre in Derry, Northern Ireland of 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2). The centre hosts over 40 retail units, including some major high street names. It was completed in 1984 within the city's historic walls. It was the first major regeneration project in the city, announced by Minister of State Richard Needham, since The Troubles began. It is close to the larger Foyleside shopping centre (400,000 sq ft, completed 1995), which is located approximately 50 metres away.

The Void (or VOID) gallery is a contemporary art gallery and events space in Waterloo Place, Derry, Northern Ireland. It began in 2003. Vivianna Chechia has been its director since May 2023, replacing Eamonn McCann.In 2021 it moved to a new location in Waterloo Place. It received a grant of over £123,000 in 2021 from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
