The Santa Maria da Vitória River is a river of Espírito Santo state in eastern Brazil.

The Deputy Darcy Castelo de Mendonça Bridge, colloquially known as the Third Bridge (Portuguese: Terceira Ponte), is the second tallest bridge in Brazil, connecting the cities of Vila Velha and Vitória in the state of Espirito Santo. Spanning the mouth of Vitória's bay, which has many other features, including the Penha Convent, Moreno's hill, freight ships, coastline, islands and modern buildings, the bridge has become one of Espirito Santo's main landmarks.

The Fort of São Francisco Xavier de Piratininga, also known as the Fort of São Francisco Xavier da Barra or simply as the Fort of Piratininga, is located in the Inhoã Cove, in the city of Vila Velha, in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo. Strategically erected at the base of Penha Hill, its mission was to defend the southern bar of Vitória Bay, on the coast of the former Captaincy of Espírito Santo.

The Prainha Historic Site, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil, is the place where the Portuguese first landed when the territory was known as the Captaincy of Espírito Santo, on May 23, 1535. Currently, the site is home to several monuments and heritage monuments important to the state's history.

Penha Convent (Portuguese: Convento da Penha) is a convent in Vila Velha, Brazil, on the top of a high mountain overlooking the cities of Vitória and Vila Velha. Founded in approximately 1558 by Pedro Palácios, today it is home to Espírito Santo's Patron Saint, Our Mother of Penha. Many believers make pilgrimages to this site which is surrounded by a green haven of forest. Due to its location between two large urban areas, it is also a very much sought-after leisure spot on weekends and holidays. It is considered one of the main tourist attractions of the Brazilian Southeast state of Espírito Santo. Every year, there is an important celebration to the Saint. Where believers dedicate their miles praying and thanking the Saint. Some have traveled from all over Brazil in order to get there. The men usually start their walk from the Capital Vitoria and finish at the Convent in Vila Velha. The women also pay their respects and walk from the closest Church (Santuario) up to the Convent. Inside the Convent there are millions of Thank you Notes from people that claim to have been cured by Nossa Senhora da Penha. They have left many of their notes along with their old handicapped chairs and much more. The view from the Convent is one of the most beautiful views. Being able to see the Island of Vitoria and the City of Vila Velha and one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast of Brazil called Praia da Costa. Where at the end of the beach, you can also see the house of the Governor.

The Memory House Museum (Portuguese: Museu Casa da Memória) is a Brazilian museum in Vila Velha, created in 1997. It is located in a house built in 1893, which was restored by the DEC/ES through the efforts of a group of volunteers and Vila Velha residents. The project began in 1993 and was inaugurated as the Memory House Museum in 1994. This late 19th century building was the result of a movement organized by the Prainha residents' association. The entire collection on display at the Memory House belongs to the Historical and Geographical Institute of Vila Velha (IHGVV). The collection includes old photographs, flags, navigational instruments, statues of important historical figures, newspapers, magazines and other documents about Prainha and Vila Velha's historical site. There are also statues of the first Donatário of the Captaincy of Espírito Santo, Vasco Fernandes Coutinho, and the first female Donat in Brazil, Captain Luiza Grinalda. There is also a 16th century cannon, as well as the 1930 Bonde 42, the public transport active in the city until 1973, which was restored by the IHGVV to be included in the exhibition.

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary (Portuguese: Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário) is a Catholic temple located in the Prainha Historic Site, in the municipality of Vila Velha, in the state of Espírito Santo. It is considered one of the oldest churches in Brazil and a landmark of the colonization of the territory of Espírito Santo.

Vila Velha ([ˈvilɐ ˈvɛʎɐ]; Portuguese for "Old Village") is a coastal city in Espírito Santo, Brazil. It lies across from Vitória, the state capital. Its population was 501,325 (2020) and its area is 210.23 km².

Vitória (Portuguese pronunciation: [viˈtɔɾjɐ], Victory), spelled Victória until the 1940s, is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is located on a small island within a bay where a number of rivers meet the sea. It was founded in 1551. The city proper is 93 square kilometres (36 square miles) and has a population of 365,855 (2020), whilst the Greater Vitória metropolitan area has a population of more than 1,857,616 (2013), the 14th largest in Brazil. Vitória is a riverine island surrounded by Vitória's Bay. In addition to Vitória, the main island, another 34 islands and a mainland portion are part of the municipality, totalling 93.381 square kilometres (36.05 square miles). Originally there were 50 islands, many of which were joined to the largest island by landfill. In 1998, the United Nations rated Vitória as the fourth best state capital in Brazil to live in, rating cities on health, education, and social improvement projects. Among the Brazilian capitals, Vitória currently maintains the second best human development index (HDI) (after Florianópolis) according to research from the Getulio Vargas Foundation. It was considered the fourth best Brazilian city to live in by the United Nations in 2013, behind São Caetano do Sul, Águas de São Pedro and Florianópolis, and it was ranked as having the highest GDP per capita. The city has two major ports: the Port of Vitória and the Port of Tubarão. These ports are part of the largest port complex of the country, which are considered the best in quality of Brazil. The city, which lies on the coast, is close to the mountains of Espírito Santo. Through the city's port authority, the city council also manages the Trindade and Martim Vaz islands, 1,100 kilometres (680 miles) off the coast, which are important meteorological bases because of their strategic position: located in an area of dispersion of air masses.

On 19 August 2022, a school attack took place at the Municipal School of Fundamental Teaching Éber Louzada Zippinotti (in Portuguese, Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Eber Louzada Zippinotti, abbreviated as EMEF Eber Louzada Zippinotti), located in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil. In the event, 18-year-old former student Henrique Lira Trad threatened and attacked teachers, coordinators and students with a variety of weapons, including crossbows, knives and Molotov cocktails before being tackled and restrained by a physical education teacher, and was later arrested.

Chocolates Garoto S.A. is a Brazilian chocolate manufacturer. Its headquarters are located in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo. The company was founded in 1929 by German immigrant Heinrich Meyerfreund and acquired by Nestlé in 2002.

The Solar Monjardim Museum (MSM) is a Brazilian historical public museum located in the Solar Monjardim, in Santa Cecília, neighborhood of Vitória, Espírito Santo. The museum is currently one of the federal institutions administered by the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram).
