Odense University

The University of Southern Denmark (Danish: Syddansk Universitet, lit. 'South Danish University', abbr. SDU) is a university in Denmark that has campuses located in Southern Denmark and on Zealand. The university offers a number of joint programmes in co-operation with the University of Flensburg and the University of Kiel. Contacts with regional industries and the international scientific community are strong. With its 29,674 enrolled students (as of 2016), the university is both the third-largest and, given its roots in Odense University, the third-oldest Danish university (fourth if one includes the Technical University of Denmark). Since the introduction of the ranking systems in 2012, the University of Southern Denmark has been ranked between 36th (2012 ), 38th (2013 ), 37th (2014), and 44th (2015 ) in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in the Top 100 Universities Under 50 List. It is also one of the Top 50 Universities Under 50 according to QS World University Rankings from 2012-2015.

The University Library of Southern Denmark (Danish: Syddansk Universitetsbibliotek, abbr. SDUB) is a library network in Denmark. It acts as a knowledge center for the entire region of Southern Denmark, with departments in six cities. Researchers and students at the University of Southern Denmark are its primary users, but companies, organizations and educational institutions, such as upper secondary schools, are also among its users.

Funen County (Danish: Fyns Amt) is a former county (Danish: amt) in central Denmark, comprising the islands of Funen, Langeland, Tåsinge, Ærø, and approximately 90 other islands, of which only 25 are inhabited. The county was formed on 1 April 1970, comprising the former counties of Odense and Svendborg. The county was abolished from 1 January 2007, when it merged into Region of Southern Denmark (Region Syddanmark). The county employed around 20,000 people working in more than 160 institutions located all over Funen.

Ribe Amt (English: Ribe County) is a former county (Danish: amt) on the Jutland peninsula of southwest Denmark. It included Denmark's fifth largest city, Esbjerg. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region of Southern Denmark (i.e. Region South Denmark). It was often considered coterminous with South West Jutland (Danish: Sydvestjylland).

Rosengårdcentret is a shopping centre located in Odense on the Danish island of Funen. The mall dates from 1971 and is the largest in Denmark with 144,000 m2 (1,550,000 sq ft) of floor space and more than 150 stores as well as restaurants, a cinema and a fitness centre.

Rosengård is a southeastern neighbourhood of Odense, in Funen, Denmark. It contains the Rosengårdcentret buildings.

Arena Fyn, officially known as the Jyske Bank Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a sports and concert arena in the southeastern part of the Danish city of Odense. It has an area of 8,500 square metres (91,000 sq ft) and can accommodate 4,000 spectators at sporting events and 5,500 at concerts, where the floor is used.

Munkebjerg is a central-southeastern neighbourhood of Odense, in Funen, Denmark.

Neder Holluf is a large village and southeastern suburb of Odense, in Funen, Denmark.

Trundholm municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the northwest coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark, in a region or landscape known as Odsherred. The municipality covered an area of 163 km², and had a total population of 11,309 (2005). Its last mayor was Hans Møller Olsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Højby. Because the former municipality of Trundholm is located near the end of a peninsula and because it features a long spit of land, Zealand's Point (Sjællands Odde), at its northwest which stretches out into the Kattegat, it is surrounded by much water. Two former municipalities — Nykøbing-Rørvig to the northeast and Dragsholm to the southwest— are also on this peninsula. To the east is Nykøbing Bay (Nykøbing Bugt), an inlet of the larger Isefjord, to the north is Nyrup Bay (Nyrup Bugt) and Hesselø Bay (Hesselø Bugt),to the west of the point is the Kattegat, and to the south of the point is Sejerø Bay (Sejerø Bugt). Ferry service via Mols-linien connects the former municipality at the town of Sjællands Odde northwest over the Kattegat to the Danish mainland, the Jutland peninsula, at Århus and Ebeltoft. By 1 January 2007 Trundholm municipality ceased to exist, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It merged with existing Dragsholm and Nykøbing-Rørvig municipalities to form the new Odsherred municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 355 km² and a total population of 32,739 (2005). The new municipality belongs to the Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region").

Vollsmose is a suburb of Odense, the third-largest city in Denmark. Approximately 3 km northeast of central Odense, towards Odense Fjord. It has around 10.000 inhabitants and is characterised by a modern housing development project from the 1970s. Since the 1990s, the area has become known throughout Denmark, because of the relatively large numbers of people of foreign descent living in the area. Its many social issues cause it to be officially classified as a vulnerable residential area by Danish authorities. Other areas in Denmark similarly characterized are Gellerup Parken in Aarhus and Mjølnerparken in Copenhagen.

Albani Bryggerierne A/S (Eng.: Albani Breweries) is a brewery located in Odense, Denmark, and the vast majority of its customers live on the island of Funen. The brewery was founded by MPharm Theodor Schiøtz in 1859. In 2000, the brewery merged with Bryggerigruppen with the Brewery group (now known as Royal Unibrew), a group of Danish regional breweries. Albani is most known for two of its beers, Odense Pilsner and Odense Classic.
