Farran (Irish: An Fearann) is a village in County Cork, Ireland, in the parish of Ovens. It lies on the southside of the River Lee. Farran is 12 miles (19 km) west from Cork City on the N22 road. The village has a primary school, creche and Montessori school, a church, community hall, and a number of small businesses. Kilcrea Friary and Kilcrea Castle are historical sites in the area. As of the 2016 census, Farran was home to 345 people.

Aherla (Irish: An Eatharla) is a small village in County Cork, Ireland, with a population of approximately 570. It is in the townlands of Aherla More and Rathard. Aherla is built on a limestone shelf typical of County Cork's ridges and valleys. The village is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency. The area features a number of historical sites and is part of the parish of Kilmurry in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross. Though the population of the village is predominantly catholic, it has a Church of Ireland church, but no Catholic church.

Dripsey River (Irish: Abhainn na Druipsí) is a tributary of the River Lee in County Cork, Ireland. It rises near the Boggeragh Mountains and flows through several villages, including the eponymous Dripsey (Irish: An Druipseach, meaning 'the muddy river'), before joining the River Lee near the Inniscarra Reservoir.

Inniscarra Lake is located along the River Lee in County Cork, Ireland. It is a man-made reservoir formed in the 1950s when Inniscarra Dam was constructed by the Electricity Supply Board. Construction of the dam commenced in 1953, with its floodgates first closed in 1956 and the reservoir fully formed by late 1957.The National Rowing Center is located on its banks and the Irish National Rowing Championships and other regattas are hosted there. The Coupe de la Jeunesse, a European youth rowing event, was held on Inniscarra Lake in 1999, 2008 and 2018.The lake is located largely within the civil parish of Inniscarra, and nearby settlements include Farran (on the reservoir's south bank) and Coachford and Dripsey (to the north).

Aglish (Irish: An Eaglais, meaning "the church") is a civil parish in the barony of Muskerry East, twelve miles west of the city of Cork, County Cork, Ireland.An Ogham inscription was discovered near Aglish which displays the words MUCOI SOGINI, probably referring to the historic tribe of the Corcu Sogain.

The 2006 census recorded that the population of the village was 1,703 - an increase of 62.1% from the 2002 Census. Ovens is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency.

Lough Inniscarra is a lake in County Cork, Ireland located to the west of Cork. It is a reservoir on the River Lee, created in the 1956 by the ESB.

Dripsey (Irish: Druipseach, meaning 'muddy river') is a village in County Cork on the R618 regional road around 20 km (12 mi) west of Cork City. It is situated on a tributary of the River Lee, the Dripsey River. It is in the Catholic parish of Inniscarra. The Dripsey area hosts a water treatment plant, the Cork offices of the Environmental Protection Agency, and an award-winning garden center. The village has one pub, a primary school and a pre-school.

Inniscarra Dam is a buttress dam located on the River Lee in the civil parish of Inniscarra in County Cork, Ireland. Construction of the dam started in February 1953 and resulted in the formation of the Inniscarra Reservoir. The dam is owned and operated by the ESB Group and has a generation capacity of 19 MW. It over-flooded in November 2009 and caused around 100 million euros worth of damage to the city, with University College Cork saying it damaged 20 million euros worth of property.
