Rosamond is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California, US, near the Los Angeles county line. Rosamond is part of Greater Los Angeles and is located in the Mojave Desert just north of Lancaster and Palmdale, the two largest cities in the Antelope Valley. As of the 2020 Census, Rosamond's population was 20,961. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Rosamond as a census-designated place (CDP). Rosamond is a suburban bedroom community with many residents employed by nearby Edwards Air Force Base or commuting to Los Angeles, Lancaster, and Palmdale for work. The town is about 15 minutes north of the Lancaster Metrolink station providing direct access to Los Angeles Union Station in just two hours.

Willow Springs International Motorsports Park (commonly referred to as Willow Springs) is located in Willow Springs near Rosamond, California, about 80-mile (130 km) north of Los Angeles. It is the oldest permanent road course in the United States. Construction began in 1952, with the inaugural race held on November 23, 1953. The main track is a 2.500 mi (4.023 km) long road course that is unchanged from its original 1953 configuration. The elevation changes and high average speeds make it a favorite of many road racing drivers. Willow Springs hosted two NASCAR Grand National Series races in 1956 and 1957 on the original road course (then known simply as Willow Springs Speedway), won by Chuck Stevenson and Marvin Panch, respectively. The track also hosted five NASCAR Winston West Series events, the first two in 1955 and 1956 and the other three between 1984 and 1986. Willow Springs also hosted one NASCAR Southwest Series race in 1986. Efforts by fans resulted in the State of California declaring Willow Springs International Raceway as a California Point of Historical Interest in 1996.

Actis (formerly, Highberg, Rummington, and Gloster) is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It is located 6.5 miles (10 km) north of Rosamond, at an elevation of 2,562 feet (781 m). It is situated between Mojave and Rosamond at Backus Road and California State Route 14. The Highberg post office opened in 1917, changed its name to Rummington in 1918, and closed for good in 1927.

KTPI-FM (97.7 FM, "97-7 KTPI") is a commercial radio station licensed to Mojave, California and serving the Antelope Valley region of Southern California. It is owned by RZ Radio LLC and broadcasts a country music format. It carries several syndicated shows: The Big D and Bubba Show in morning drive time, Big Time with Whitney Allen evenings and After Midnite with Granger Smith overnight. KTPI-FM is a Class A FM station with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 3,000 watts. The transmitter tower is off Prospect Road at 20th Street in Mojave. The studios are on East Avenue K-4 at 6th Street East in Lancaster.

Willow Springs is a village located around a set of former springs (no longer flowing) in Kern County, California, United States. It is located 7.5 miles (12 km) west of Rosamond, at an elevation of 2,523 feet (769 m).Willow Springs International Motorsports Park is approximately two miles east of the original village of Willow Springs. An underground grid storage project is planned near the Whirlwind Substation.

The Rosamond Hills are a low mountain range in the Mojave Desert, in eastern Kern County, California. The hills are located the northeastern Antelope Valley, between Rosamond and Mojave. They are bisected by California State Route 14.

Gold Town (on topographic maps) or OarVille is a former settlement in Kern County, California. It was located 9.5 miles (15 km) north of Rosamond, at an elevation of 2,713 feet (827 m).Today, Goldtown exists only as a grid of dirt roads and a few abandoned buildings and mines in the desert off the California State Route 14. Silver Queen Road is the main paved road that connects Goldtown to the California State Route 14. Fleta, California is 0.62 miles northeast of Goldtown. Mojave, California is 1.44 miles (2.3 km) to the north. Gold mines exist within 2 miles to the north and south of Goldtown.[1] These mines include: the Golden Queen Mine and Elephant Eagle mine on Soledad Mountain south of Goldtown [2], and Whitmore Mine and Exposed Treasure mine on Standard Hill north of Goldtown. KHXT-FM (Mojave) radio tower, at an elevation of 3,028 feet (923 meters) above sea level, is 1.56 miles (2.5 km) southeast of Goldtown. The California Aqueduct Road is located about 5 miles (8.1 km) to the west of Goldtown.

Reefer City is a ghost town in Kern County, California. It was located 3.25 miles (5.2 km) south-southwest of Mojave, at an elevation of 2762 feet (842 m). Reefer City still appeared on maps as late as 1947.Reefer City was established in June 1936 by Consolidated Gold Fields of South Africa, formerly Gold Fields of South Africa Limited, a company founded and based in London, after a gold lode was discovered on Soledad Mountain near Mojave. The company purchased refrigerator cars, known colloquially as "reefers", from the Southern Pacific Railroad to house the miners. After the mine closed in 1942, the community housed military personnel from Edwards Air Force Base until the 1960s. In 1971, Reefer City was purchased and demolished by a salvage company.

General William J. Fox Airfield (IATA: WJF, ICAO: KWJF, FAA LID: WJF) is a county-owned, public airport in Los Angeles County, California, five miles northwest of Lancaster, California, United States. Locally known as Fox Field, the airport serves the Antelope Valley. The airport is named after Brigadier General William J. Fox, "a Marine war hero, a movie stunt man, the first Los Angeles County engineer and, for 20 years after his retirement, a cowboy."The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a general aviation facility. The airport has limited scheduled cargo operations. The U.S. Forest Service has a fixed wing airtanker and helicopter base on the airfield which becomes one of the main hubs in the region for aerial firefighting suppression efforts during fire season.

KGMX (106.3 FM, "K-Mix 106.3") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Lancaster, California and serves the Antelope Valley area. The station is owned by High Desert Broadcasting and broadcasts a top 40 (CHR) format. The station is simulcast on KMVE (106.9 FM) in California City, California.

Sierra SunTower was a 5 MW commercial concentrating solar power (CSP) plant built and operated by eSolar. The plant is located in Lancaster, California. As of mid-September, 2022, the two towers that were the center of the facility are no longer standing. However the rest of the plant is still present.

Lancaster Airport was an airport about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of Lancaster, California. It was closed in the late 1940s and is now a housing development.
