Machar (Hebrew: מחר, lit. 'Tomorrow'), officially Machar, The Washington Congregation For Secular Humanistic Judaism, is a Humanistic Jewish congregation located in the metro area of Washington, D.C., in the United States. Affiliated with the Society for Humanistic Judaism, the non-theistic congregation was founded in 1977, and celebrates Jewish culture, education and celebrations. The congregation has a Jewish cultural school, social action committee, and regular newsletter, and welcomes interfaith couples.Depending on the type of service, the congregation worships at either one of two locations in Maryland: 100 Welsh Park Drive, in Rockville; or 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring.

Rockville station is an intermodal train station located in downtown Rockville, Maryland, United States. It is served by the Washington Metro Red Line, MARC Brunswick Line commuter trains, and Amtrak Capitol Limited intercity trains. Rockville station opened in 1873 when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) built their Metropolitan Branch (now the CSX Metropolitan Subdivision). B&O intercity service served the station until 1971; the station continued to be served by commuter trains (which became the Brunswick Line in the 1980s). Amtrak service began in 1973 with the Blue Ridge, followed by the Shenandoah in 1976 and the Capitol Limited in 1981. The station building, designed by Ephraim Francis Baldwin, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 as Rockville Railroad Station. It was moved slightly to the south in 1981 to make room for Metro construction. The modern Metro station opened on December 15, 1984.

Rockville Town Center is a town center in Rockville, Maryland. Opened in 1995, it replaced the demolished Rockville Mall.

The Third Addition to Rockville and Old St. Mary's Church and Cemetery is a historic area located in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. This area combines 19th century residential scale buildings with a tree-lined narrow street, country church, weathered headstones, Victorian Gothic railroad station, and a brick cast-iron front commercial structure, to create an atmosphere that evokes the era when the station served as the gateway to Rockville. In addition to Victorian Gothic, architectural styles used in residential buildings include Queen Anne, Georgian, and Colonial Revival. The area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.St. Mary's Church is significant as the County's first brick Roman Catholic church, and the handsome hardware store is the area's last surviving cast-iron brick commercial structure. The Old St. Mary's Church Cemetery is the final resting place of author F. Scott Fitzgerald, his wife Zelda Fitzgerald and their daughter Frances Fitzgerald.

The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) is a U.S. law enforcement agency responsible for patrolling the city of Rockville, the third largest city in the U.S. state of Maryland. The RCPD patrols the city in cooperation with the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). The agency serves a jurisdiction consisting of over 65,000 people and has been a CALEA-accredited agency since 1994. According to the RCPD, its mission is to protect and promote community safety, ensure the safe and orderly movement of traffic, and seek solutions to any problem that creates fear or threatens the quality of life in its jurisdiction.

The Montgomery County Courthouse Historic District, designated in 1986, includes several buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Rockville, Maryland. The two-block district is focused on what remains of Rockville's old commercial, governmental, and residential center, most of which was demolished during urban renewal in the 1960s. The district includes the Romanesque Revival-style Red Brick Courthouse, designed by prominent Baltimore architect Frank E. Davis and built in 1891. Located at 29 Courthouse Square, it houses the refurbished Grand Courtroom of Montgomery County Circuit Court. The district also includes the 1931 Neoclassical-style Grey Courthouse and its 1960s addition; the 1939 Georgian-styled post office of limestone construction; and the 1930 Art Deco stone building built for the Farmers Banking and Trust Company. The courthouses are part of a cluster of municipal and county buildings at the corner of Maryland Avenue and Jefferson Street (Rte 28) in downtown Rockville. Other buildings in the cluster include Rockville City Hall, the District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County, and the Montgomery County Judicial Center, a Brutalist building constructed in the 1980s at 50 Maryland Avenue, which houses the rest of Montgomery County's Circuit Court, the Offices of the Sheriff, the Register of Wills, the Orphans' Court, and the State's Attorney for Montgomery County.

The Spot is a food hall in Rockville, Maryland serving Asian fusion cuisine. The food hall was founded in July 2018 by Edward Wong of Hong Kong and houses seven storefronts including Gong Cha, Cheers Cut, Mian, Poki DC, Alpaca Dessert, Spot Bar, and Spot Grill.

The Beall–Dawson House is a historic home located at Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Federal house, three bays wide by two deep, constructed of Flemish bond brick on the front facade and common bond elsewhere. Outbuildings on the property include an original brick dairy house and a mid-19th century one-room Gothic Revival frame doctor's office which was moved to the site for use as a museum. The house was constructed in 1815. It serves as the headquarters of the Montgomery County Historical Society which maintains the house as an early 19th-century period historic house museum. The house also include indoor slave quarters, and two rooms with changing exhibits of local history. The Beall–Dawson House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The property also includes the Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century Medicine, a one-room doctor's office with medical and pharmaceutical tools, furniture, and books from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Rockville Park Historic District is a national historic district in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The neighborhood was platted in 1884 along the B&O Railroad Metropolitan Branch. It is associated with the suburban development of Rockville with the extension of the railroad in 1873 and increased middle-class home ownership in the late 19th century. Its northern boundary is Baltimore Road, which is one of Montgomery County's historic roads. Three early developers of the district include William Reading, Washington Danenhower, and Joseph Reading. It is home to a diversity of residential forms and architectural styles, including Victorian, American Foursquare, bungalow, and Minimal Traditional houses from the 1950s.

Dawson Farm, also known as "Rocky Glen," is a historic property with two homes located at Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The property contains two dwellings: the 1874, 2+1⁄2-story, frame Dawson Farmhouse and a large 2+1⁄2-story hip-roofed frame house dating to 1912.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Lincoln Park is an African-American neighborhood in Rockville, Maryland, east of the B&O Railroad tracks. Most high-school-aged residents of the Lincoln Park attend Richard Montgomery High School. Its local community center has aimed to help those in the area.
