The canton of Charleville-Mézières-2 is an administrative division of the Ardennes department, northern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Charleville-Mézières. It consists of the following communes:

Charleville-Mézières (French pronunciation: [ʃaʁləvil mezjɛʁ] ) is a commune of northern France, capital of the Ardennes department, Grand Est. Charleville-Mézières is located on the banks of the river Meuse.

Place Ducale is the central and historical main square of Charleville, the northern part of Charleville-Mézières, in the Ardennes department of France. The history of the square goes back to 1606, when it was planned as the centre of the new town Charleville, founded by Charles I Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua. Duke Charles commissioned architect Clément II Métezeau to make the plans for the square. He was the younger brother of Louis Métezeau, who might have designed Place des Vosges in Paris; the similarity between the two squares is striking. The square consists of three symmetrical sides, each one centred around a central pavilion, originally with a dome. On the fourth side the Duke originally intended to erect a palace for himself, but this was never built. Instead, the present-day town hall, erected with a bell tower in 1840, partially occupies the fourth side.

UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette - International Puppetry Association), an international non-governmental organization that brings together puppeteers and puppet enthusiasts to develop and promote the art of puppetry, was founded in Prague in 1929 (the then Czechoslovak magazine Loutkář was UNIMA's first official journal in years 1929–1930). In 1981, the French puppeteer Jacques Félix moved UNIMA's headquarters to Charleville-Mézières, France, location of the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes since 1972. UNIMA is affiliated to UNESCO and it is a member of the International Theatre Institute. UNIMA is affiliated with the International Theatre Institute and is present in 87 countries. Its headquarters is located in Charleville-Mézières.

The arrondissement of Charleville-Mézières is an arrondissement of France in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region. It has 157 communes. Its population is 158,005 (2016), and its area is 1,825.3 km2 (704.8 sq mi).

Charleville-Mézières station (French: Gare de Charleville-Mézières) is a French railway station serving the town Charleville-Mézières, Ardennes department, northeastern France. TGV trains run to Paris as well as regular local services to Reims. Prior to the opening of the LGV Est between Paris and Strasbourg in 2007, two trains a day used to run in each direction between Gare de Lille Flandres and the Gare de Metz-Ville.

The École royale du génie de Mézières (Royal Engineering School of Mézières) was a military engineering school in what is now Charleville-Mézières, France. It was founded in 1748 on proposal of the comte d'Argenson, then Secretary of state for War, and Brigadier Nicolas de Chastillon, commander of the citadel at Charleville-Mézières, with the aim of modernizing the town's fortifications. It trained a total of 542 military engineers until its merging with the École d'Application de l'Artillerie de Metz during the Reign of Terror. Since 1800 its buildings have housed the Hôtel du Département des Ardennes, which manages the Ardennes department.
