Balbriggan

Balscaddan (Irish: Baile na Scadán, meaning 'the town of the Herrings', also spelt Balscadden) is a village in Fingal, Ireland. It is the most northerly village of County Dublin, approx 5 km north of Balbriggan and close to the border with County Meath. Balscaddan is also the name of the townland around the village, and the civil parish of which it is part. The district has a population of under 700 people, and the area around the village is completely rural in character, although close to the expanding Balbriggan. The village is not to be confused with Balscaddan Bay which is located on Howth Head and which takes its name from the same source.

Balbriggan railway station (Irish: Stáisiún Bhaile Brigín) serves Balbriggan in County Dublin. The station is located on the Dublin to Belfast railway line. It is the northern limit of Dublin's Short Hop Zone, meaning it is the last station Leap cards are valid at. Due to a growing population, planning permission has been submitted to increase the capacity of the station.

O'Dwyers GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based at Hamlet Lane, Balbriggan, County Dublin, Ireland, serving the communities of Balbriggan, Balrothery, Balscadden and surrounding areas. Its principal grounds are at Bremore Park, but it also has grounds at Bells Field, Balbriggan, opposite the club house. The club operates a "skills camp" on a Saturday morning for five- to eight-year-olds, indoors during winter. The club plays football at U-8 (mixed), U-9 (mixed), U-10 (mixed), U11(mixed), U-12 (boys) and U-14 (boys). Girls football is played at U-13, U-14 and U-15. Hurling is catered for ages U-8 (mixed), U9 (mixed), U-10 (boys), U-12 (boys) and U-14 (boys). There is a juvenile camogie team, aimed at girls aged 10/12 years old. There has been some success at juvenile level, with league and cup wins. At adult level the club has one football team competing in AFL5 and the Dublin Intermediate Football Championship and one Junior hurling team (AHL9). The club also has a culture club and for part of the year, adults and juvenile members learn set-dancing on a Monday night. Also during the week, tin-whistle and fiddle classes take place in the club house.

Balrothery (Irish: Baile an Ridire, meaning 'Town of the Knight') is a village and civil parish located in Fingal, County Dublin, Ireland. The town has historically been called Baile Ruairí in Irish (Town of Ruairí). The 2022 census population for Balrothery was 2,282.

Bremore Port is a proposed new deepwater Irish Sea port at Bremore, near Balbriggan, Ireland. It is being developed to provide an east coast deepwater port for Ireland to supplement the Drogheda and Dublin Ports. Due to funding shortfalls, a 2007 - 2011 plan for development was replaced by a plan for logistics and offshore jetties at Gormanston just over the border in Meath.It is located near the main M1 Dublin-Belfast road and rail links. The project is applying for Strategic infrastructure status (SIB).

The Inch is a cricket ground in Balrothery, County Dublin, Ireland. The first recorded match on the ground was in 2001, when North County played The Hills. In 2005, the ground hosted two List A matches in the 2005 ICC Trophy. The first of these saw Denmark play the Netherlands, which resulted in a victory by six wickets for the Netherlands. The second of these saw Oman play the United States, which resulted three wicket victory for Oman.In 2011, it was one of the venues for the 2011 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Ardgillan Castle is a country house near Balbriggan, County Dublin, Ireland. It is set in the 200-acre (0.81 km2) Ardgillan Demesne, a public park in the jurisdiction of Fingal County Council.

The River Delvin (Irish: An Ailbhine) is a river of northern County Dublin, about 18 kilometres (11 mi) long and forming much of the Dublin-Meath boundary;: 2  it is thus largely under the responsibility of Fingal County Council, sometimes shared with Meath County Council.

Man Of War (also known as Man O' War) is a small populated place in Fingal, County Dublin, Ireland. It is centred on the townlands of Courtlough, Malhenry and Palmerstown which lie in the civil parish of Balrothery. It is located about 24 kilometres north of Dublin city, between the towns of Skerries, Lusk and Balbriggan. The Gaelic football team of the same name, Man-O-War GFC, the club was founded in 1946. It fields teams at Juvenile, Adult Mens and Adult Ladies levels. Some notable achievements include Winning the 1979 Mens Dublin Junior Championship, as well as the 2019 Ladies Dublin Junior A Championship.Man Of War is noted for its public house, which has a tree in its centre. The pub has existed for centuries and is recorded in deeds dating back to 1595.In 1732 an Act of Parliament established the tolled Coach Road called the Dublin to Dunleer Turnpike (1732—1855) and a turnpike (toll booth) was situated at the Man O’War Pub.The area around the Man O' War gets very busy around the time of the Skerries motorcycle races.

The Vineyard is a cricket ground in Dublin, Ireland. In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home of The Hills Cricket Club. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1992, when Munster played North Leinster. In 2005, the ground hosted two List A matches in the 2005 ICC Trophy. The first of these saw Bermuda play Scotland, which resulted in a Scottish victory by 6 wickets. The second of these saw Denmark play Namibia, which resulted 103 run victory for Namibia.In 2006, the ground hosted a Women's One Day Internationals between Ireland women and India women, which India women won by 78 runs. In 2009, it hosted another Women's One Day International between Ireland women and the Netherlands women, which Ireland women won by 10 wickets. Also in 2009, the ground held a Women's Twenty20 International between Ireland women and Pakistan women, which Ireland women won by 9 wickets.The ground held a first-class match between Ireland and Afghanistan in the 2011–13 Intercontinental Cup.
