Rangiora New Life School is a state-integrated Christian area School situated in Southbrook, Rangiora, New Zealand. It was established in 1979 as a private school and integrated into the state education system in March 1994. The school has a roll of 452 students from years 1 to 13 (approx. ages 5 to 18) as of April 2023, many of whom are not of religious conviction (the school having a policy of acceptance towards personal religion). The current principal is Stephen Walters. It is notable for its high success rate of students passing their respective NCEA qualifications. In 2010, all Year 11 students at the school passed their NCEA Level 1 standards, the highest pass rate in New Zealand.

Flaxton is a small rural community in between the towns of Rangiora and Kaiapoi in the Waimakariri District, New Zealand.

Ohoka is a small semi-rural township on the northern outskirts of Christchurch in New Zealand. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "place of the stake for a decoy parrot" for Ōhoka.A new subdivision proposed in 2022 would add 800–850 houses, shops and a village square to Ohoka. Some residents are campaigning against the subdivision.

Tuahiwi is a small New Zealand settlement located between Woodend and Rangiora. It is 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of Kaiapoi.The settlement includes Tuahiwi Marae, a marae (tribal meeting ground) of Ngāi Tahu and its Te Ngāi o Tūāhuriri Rūnanga branch. The marae includes the Māhunui II wharenui (meeting house).

The Cust River is a river in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. It flows east across the upper Canterbury Plains from its source north of the town of Oxford, New Zealand, flowing into the Cam River / Ruataniwha close to the town of Rangiora. The small town of Cust lies on the banks of the river. The lower part of the river, to the south-west of Rangiora, is diverted into a channel and called the "Main Drain". The channel was built in 1862 to drain the swampy land between Rangiora and the Waimakariri River, and when it was enlarged in 1868 it accidentally captured the Cust.The river was named in 1849 after Sir Edward Cust, a member of the Canterbury Association.Brown trout spawn in the river and are suitable for fishing in spring.

Woodend is a town in the Waimakariri District, in the Canterbury Region of the South Island of New Zealand. It may have been named because it was on the edge of what was then called the Maori Bush, or after an early settler, Thomas Wooding. It is situated with both the Waimakariri and Ashley / Rakahuri Rivers running either side. Woodend is 6.6 kilometres north of Kaiapoi and 6.3 kilometres to the east of Rangiora. Woodend is within walking distance of the town of Pegasus. The town has a population of 4,550 (June 2023). It is 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of central Christchurch, and is part of the city's metropolitan area. Woodend is located near Woodend Beach. It is possible to go swimming, surfing, walking, running and horse riding there. The Tūhaitara Coastal Park is known for its walking and mountain biking trails. The Tutaepatu Trail links Woodend Beach, Pegasus Town and Waikuku Beach.

The Cam River / Ruataniwha is a small river in Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand. It is a tributary of the Kaiapoi River, itself a tributary of the Waimakariri River. The Cam / Ruataniwha rises just to the east of the town of Rangiora and flows south across the Canterbury Plains towards Kaiapoi. It has two named tributaries, North Brook and South Brook, both of which rise in Rangiora, plus several unnamed streams and drainage canals. The river's official name was changed from Cam River to the dual name Cam River / Ruataniwha by the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998. The Cam river holds a small population of Brown trout and Chinook salmon, with its tributaries spawning grounds for the trout and salmon mostly in the North Brook and South Brook stream, Middle Brook is silted so any trout in the stream do not spawn.

Kaiapoi High School is a state co-educational secondary school located in Kaiapoi, in the Waimakariri District of New Zealand's South Island. The school serves 1047 students from Years 9 to 13 (approx. ages 12 to 18) as of April 2023.

Kaiapoi is a town in the Waimakariri District of the Canterbury region, in the South Island of New Zealand. The town is located approximately 17 kilometres north of central Christchurch, close to the mouth of the Waimakariri River. It is considered a satellite town of Christchurch and is part of the Christchurch functional urban area.Kaiapoi is known for its substantial precolonial pā, Te Kōhaka-a-kaikai-a-waro, established by powerful Kāi Tahu nobleman Tūrākautahi. One of the sons of the powerful rangatira Tūāhuriri, Tūrākautahi exerted vast influence over historical Ōtautahi (the site of modern-day Christchurch). His family controlled the pā he established in the area until it was sacked in 1831 by Te Rauparaha and his followers. The pā was one of the greatest centre of knowledge, economics and natural resources, with a highly complex social structure. All decisions were undertaken by the nobility, who consulted with highly skilled tohunga. In selecting the pā site, Tūrākautahi determined that food (kai) would need to be poi ("swung in"- swung over the pā's protective walls via rope, and also because it lay in the middle of a swamp) from other places. This is how Kaiapoi got its name, and can translated as a metaphor for "economics"Kaiapoi suffered extensive damage in the 2010 Canterbury and also the February 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, which rendered many homes uninhabitable and businesses inoperable. Large areas were condemned as part of a residential red zone covering uninhabitable areas.

Clarkville is a small rural town in the Waimakariri District, New Zealand. As of June 2022, Clarkville had a population of 1,530.

Mandeville Sports Centre is a sports ground and community park in Mandeville North, Canterbury, New Zealand. The park is home to 13 clubs facilitating archery, equestrian events, netball, rugby, tennis, cricket, dog clubs, bowls and squash. The ground held a single List A match in the 1990/91 Shell Cup when Canterbury played Wellington, which resulted in a 19 run victory for Wellington. A number of other sports are played at the complex.

Norman Kirk Park is a recreational space on the east side of Kaiapoi which is a town in the Waimakariri District of Canterbury, New Zealand. Norman Kirk Park was built on former red zone land that was a residential neighbourhood prior to the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. Norman Kirk Park consists of a dog park, a nature reserve, sports fields, and a BMX track.
