Todt Hill

The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York and New England, also referred to as the Coptic Diocese of New York, is a diocese of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. It was founded in 2013 and encompasses the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont in the United States of America. The diocese's first and current bishop is His Grace Bishop David.

Staten Island Academy is a coeducational, college-preparatory day school located on a 14-acre (57,000 m2) campus in Staten Island, New York City, United States. Founded in 1884 by Anton Methfessel, it is the oldest independent school on Staten Island, and is the only independent school (non-public, non-religious) in the borough. It educates students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The current enrollment is around 390 students, with a student to teacher ratio of 7:1. Eileen Corigliano is the current head of school. The school is composed of three divisions: Lower School, Pre-K-Gr. 4; Middle School, Gr. 5-8; Upper School, Gr. 9-12. The Head of Lower, Middle and Upper School is Eileen Corigliano. The campus has seven buildings: the Early Childhood Building, the Art Barn, Haugen Hall, Kearns Hall, Crowe Hall, Alumni Hall and the OJ Buck Gymnasium. The school's accreditations include the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and the New York State Association of Independent Schools. It is chartered and registered by the Board of Regents, University of the State of New York.

Manor Heights is a neighborhood located in Staten Island, New York City. Manor comes from the fact that the neighborhood is adjacent to Manor Road, a major thoroughfare in the North Shore of Staten Island, and Heights due to the area's sudden elevation within its boundaries. The neighborhood's loose boundaries include the areas south of the Staten Island Expressway, north of Brielle Avenue, which is the location of Susan E. Wagner High School, to the west of Manor Road, and to the east of Bradley Avenue. Locally, the neighborhood is sometimes considered an overlapping of the Willowbrook, Meiers Corners and Todt Hill sections of Staten Island. The area quickly populated with the rapid growth of Staten Island's population caused by the opening of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge among other factors. The neighborhood consists of relatively small, one-family homes. Manor Heights is the site of Susan E. Wagner High School, opened in 1968 to accommodate the island's growing population. A residential complex for low-income seniors, operated by the Sisters of Charity, was later built on land adjacent to the high school. Manor Heights also includes Public School 54 which is located in Willowbrook Rd Manor Heights is serviced by the S54, S57, S61 and S91 local buses and the SIM31, SIM32 and SIM33 express buses.

Middletown was a town in Richmond County, New York. It was incorporated in 1860 from parts of Southfield and Castleton. At the time, it included the most populous part of the village of Edgewater and the hilly ridges of the interior, Grymes Hill and Todt Hill among others.It was dissolved in 1898 upon consolidation into the City of New York.

The Michael J. Petrides School is a public school located at 715 Ocean Terrace in Staten Island, New York. It was created by Board of Education officials and named for their late colleague and College of Staten Island professor, Michael J. Petrides (1941–1994). The school opened on November 13, 1995, on the former campus of the College of Staten Island. Students apply to attend the school through a lottery system. 8th graders going into high school, receive auto-admission if Petrides is the first choice on their application. The current principal is Joanne Buckheit. Petrides educates students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, or senior year in high school. It has an assistant principal for each grade category (elementary, middle school, high school). They are: Jennifer Ponzi - Elementary School (Grades pre-K - 5) BettyAnn Souffrin - Middle School (Grades 6-8) Anthony Tabbitas - High School (Grades 9-12)The Petrides School, like many other New York City public schools, also has paraprofessionals, speech therapists, occupational and physical therapists, deans, school aides, and a widely used bus transportation system.

Castleton is a former town in the U.S. state of New York. It was located in the northeastern part of Staten Island prior to the incorporation of Staten Island into New York City in 1898. It had a total area of 3880 acres (15.7 km²) and was bounded by Upper New York Bay on the east and the Kill Van Kull on the north. The town dates from the late 17th century. It was originally set aside as the manor of the governor of the Province of New York and takes its name from the manor of Governor Thomas Dongan who named it for his home Castletown, in the town Kildrought (now Celbridge) in County Kildare, Ireland. The original manor house was constructed along Richmond Terrace, between Dongan Street and Bodine Street. It was destroyed by fire on December 25, 1878. The town was incorporated by the state of New York in 1788.The town was dissolved in 1898 upon consolidation into the City of New York. The former town included the present-day neighborhoods of Castleton Corners New Brighton St. George Silver Lake Tompkinsville

The Church of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus is a parish church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 1634 Victory Boulevard, Castleton Corners, Staten Island, New York City. The church was built in 1953 on the designs of the prolific architect Robert J. Reiley for $224,000. The church has a co-educational parochial school.Father John Joseph O'Hara, a future bishop, served St. Teresa's as parochial vicar during 1992–2000 and then as pastor during 2000–2012.

Sunnyside is the name of a neighborhood in the Mid-Island region of the New York City borough of Staten Island (not to be confused with the neighborhood of the same name in the borough of Queens).

Susan E. Wagner High School is a New York City public school located at 1200 Manor Road in Staten Island, New York. The school is owned and run by the New York City Department of Education. It opened in September 1968, and was named in honor of Susan E. Wagner (1909–1964), the late wife of former mayor Robert F. Wagner Jr. On average, the school has about 3,300 students. Wagner's school colors are Navy and White, with the Falcon as the mascot. Wagner has a variety of programs including the Law and Politics program, the Virtual Enterprise program, the Scholars Academy, Air Force JROTC, Theatrical Arts program, and annual SING! productions. The school has the largest marching band in New York City, with over 150 members. The school received the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in the 1988–1989 school year.

Emerson Hill is the name of a hilly area, and the neighborhood upon which the hill is situated in Staten Island, New York, one of the five boroughs of New York City, United States. Some of the roads on Emerson Hill are private, and several gates were previously found at approaches to the enclave. Signage at the Douglas Road and Emerson Drive entrances to the area restrict truck traffic (except local deliveries) and through traffic. These areas lack gates and are not staffed by security personnel. The streets also lack signage denoting the roads as private. As such, it does not qualify as a gated community. Emerson Hill is separated from its nearby neighborhoods of Grymes Hill just north of the Staten Island Expressway, and Todt Hill — where private roads also exist — borders on the south. The neighborhood is zoned as residential and is part of the Special Natural Area District, which denotes its unique natural characteristics and requires the City Planning Commission to review proposals for site alterations. Removal of trees on private property in the area typically requires approval from the Department of Buildings to ensure compliance with the zoning protocols. The hill is named for Judge William Emerson — oldest brother of Ralph Waldo Emerson — who lived with his wife, Susan, and children William, Haven and Charles in a long, brown shingle house known as The Snuggery. Willie and Haven were tutored in 1843 by Henry David Thoreau, who lived with the Emersons from May through October. It was the only time in his adult life that Thoreau lived anywhere but Concord, Massachusetts.In 1971, two large mock Tudor homes at the end of Longfellow Avenue served as Casa Corleone for the filming of Francis Ford Coppola's classic movie The Godfather.

The Billiou–Stillwell–Perine House is a Dutch Colonial structure and the oldest standing building on Staten Island, New York.

Castleton Corners (or Four Corners) is an upscale neighborhood of Staten Island, one of the five boroughs of New York City. It is in a region of the island often referred to as the North Shore, Staten Island.
