Elm Street Court

The Nathan C. Ricker House is a historic house located at 612 West Green Street in Urbana, Illinois. Architect Nathan Clifford Ricker designed the house for himself in 1892; he lived there until his death in 1924. Ricker was a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and he established the university's architecture program; he also designed several of the school's buildings. His house, a two-story Queen Anne structure, was his only residential design. The house has an asymmetrical plan with a multi-component roof, projecting bays, and a front porch along the entire west side. Wood shingles decorate the house's exterior, and decorative posts, railings, and a frieze adorn the porch.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 21, 2000.

The Clark R. Griggs House is a historic house located at 505 W. Main St. in Urbana, Illinois. The house was built in 1871 by Clark Robinson Griggs; Griggs was a railroad developer who served as Urbana's mayor and was a key figure in establishing the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in the city. Griggs never lived in the house he built, and his son occupied the house after Griggs moved east. The Italianate house is one of the few examples of the style in Urbana. The house's cornice is decorated with paired brackets, as is a projecting bay on the east side. The front porch has a balustrade and is supported by bracketed columns.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 30, 1978.

Community of Urbana-Champaign Cooperative Housing, or COUCH, is an association of student housing cooperatives in Urbana and Champaign, Illinois. It is a member of North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO). COUCH began in 1997 as an umbrella organization for the independent housing co-ops in the Champaign–Urbana area, but was also founded with the vision of creating a larger co-op community to advance co-oping, establish community, and achieve economies of scale within the co-op community. It currently consists of four houses: Gwendolyn Brooks Cooperative (Urbana), a 14-member house, opened its doors as a member-controlled co-op house in August 2001. Harvest House Cooperative (Urbana), another 14-member house, was also founded in 2001. Greenhouse (Urbana), a 9-member co-op, sprang from the ashes of the five-person Phoenix cooperative (2001-2010) in 2010, which had in turn sprung from the ashes of the previous Green House cooperative (1985-2001) in 2001. La Casa Grande Colectiva (Urbana), founded around 1970, houses seven members and is the oldest independent co-op in Champaign–Urbana.These housing co ops provide affordable housing to students and young people. Each room is rented out separately, and each room is priced according to its size. On top of rent, each tenant pays a separate bill for utilities and food. Although rules change from house to house, it is customary that every night, one or two people cook for the house and in return, they are cooked for the other 6 nights of the week. Some houses are vegan or vegetarian, while other houses serve meat. Many commodities are included for free including free access to a washer and dryer and free printing. Many houses allow pets.

The American Football House is a house in Urbana, Illinois, United States, famed for its appearance on the cover of Midwest emo band American Football's 1999 self-titled debut album. The house's interior was also featured on the cover of the band's 2016 self-titled second album. The house has since become "one of music's biggest landmarks", attracting tourism especially in the emo community.

Carle Foundation Hospital is a 433-bed regional care hospital in Urbana, Illinois, United States, that has achieved Magnet designation. It is owned by the not-for-profit (NFPO) Carle Foundation, which also consists of Carle Physician Group and Health Alliance Medical Plans. It is the region's only level-1 trauma center.The Carle Health system also includes Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Carle Eureka Hospital, Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, and Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.The hospital is a vertically integrated system led by James Leonard, President and CEO since 2000. He has served Carle since the early 1980s. It is the primary teaching hospital for the Carle-Illinois College of Medicine, the medical school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The Greek Revival Cottage is a historic house located in Leal Park in Urbana, Illinois. Built circa 1860, the house is the last remaining Greek Revival home in Champaign-Urbana. As Champaign County was settled in the 1850s, the same time the Greek Revival style's popularity declined, few houses in the county were built in the style. The house's front entrance features a portico, the house's main Greek Revival element, with a dentillated pediment supported by square pillars. While the house was originally located at 1205 W. Springfield, it was relocated to the park in the 1970s to save it from demolition.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 20, 1977.

The Station Theatre is a small independent dramatics theatre located in downtown Urbana, Illinois. It was converted into a theatre from a Big Four Railway passenger station in 1967. At that time, it was called The Depot. The building was last used as a passenger station in 1956. The Station Theatre was founded in 1972 and continues to produce both plays and musicals.

The Urbana-Lincoln Hotel – Lincoln Square Mall is a historic building complex located at 300 South Broadway Avenue in Urbana, Illinois. The Tudor Revival style hotel was built in 1923. In 1964, the mall was built as an extension of the hotel; it was one of the first fully enclosed shopping malls in Illinois. The hotel, the mall, and the building complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. As of October 2017, the mall was still in operation, however the hotel was closed.

WRFU-LP (104.5 FM, "Radio Free Urbana") is a radio station broadcasting a variety music format. Licensed to Urbana, Illinois, United States, the station serves the Champaign area. The station is currently owned by the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center Foundation.

The Phi Mu Sorority House is a historic sorority house at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. The sorority house was built in 1928 for the university's Delta Beta chapter of the Phi Mu sorority, which formed in 1921; the sorority itself was founded in 1852 and is one of the oldest sororities in the United States. At the time, the university had one of the largest Greek letter society movements in the country. The sorority's house has a Spanish Eclectic design with an arcaded porch and large patio, a campanile on one corner, and a colored tile roof. Phi Mu used the house until moving to a new building after World War II; the building has since been used by other Greek and student life groups.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 21, 1990.

The Warm Air Research House is a historic house and research facility located at 1108 W. Stoughton St. in Urbana, Illinois. Built in 1924, the house served as a warm-air heating research facility administered jointly by the National Warm-Air Heating and Ventilating Association and the University of Illinois Department of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to the 1920s, the American heating industry had few formal testing procedures for their products, and home heating through warm-air ventilation ducts was still considered a novel concept. The National Warm-Air Heating and Ventilating Association began to test heating methods and systems in the Department of Mechanical Engineering's laboratories, but it eventually needed a model house in which to test its domestic heating systems. The two organizations commissioned the large Colonial Revival residence, which was designed by architect Loring Harvey Provine and graduate student Clarence Andrew Kissinger. Beginning in 1932, research on air conditioning and cooling systems was also conducted in the house. Following World War II, the facility became less useful due to the shrinking size of new American homes, and the university sold the house in 1946. Some of the technologies developed in the house include storm windows, forced-air heating, and heating duct size and positioning.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 12, 2001.

The School of Social Work is a school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign that exclusively focuses on social work education. The school was originally a graduate school, but began an undergraduate program in Fall 2010.On July 28, 2017, Steve Anderson was named as the new dean of the school. He succeeded Wynne Korr on September 15. Korr had served since 2002.
