Lake Winnipesaukee () is the largest lake in the U.S. state of New Hampshire, located in the Lakes Region at the foothills of the White Mountains. It is approximately 21 miles (34 km) long (northwest-southeast) and from 1 to 9 miles (1.6 to 14.5 km) wide (northeast-southwest), covering 69 square miles (179 km2)—71 square miles (184 km2) when Paugus Bay is included—with a maximum depth of 180 feet (55 m). The center area of the lake is called The Broads.: 31 The lake contains at least 264 islands, half of which are less than 0.25 acres (0.10 ha) in size, and is indented by several peninsulas, yielding a total shoreline of approximately 288 miles (463 km). The driving distance around the lake is 63 miles (101 km). It is 504 feet (154 m) above sea level. Winnipesaukee is the third-largest lake in New England after Lake Champlain and Moosehead Lake. Outflow is regulated by the Lakeport Dam in Lakeport, New Hampshire, on the Winnipesaukee River.

Geneva Point Center (GPC) is a historic non-profit conference center and summer camp in a natural northern New England setting. Located in the town of Moultonborough, New Hampshire, the campus includes 184 acres (74 ha) of wooded nature trails and one mile of lakeshore on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are more than 90 structures on the site, including cabins, small family cottages and private lodge rooms. The property has the historic Winnipesaukee Inn (circa 1907). The oldest existing structure is a barn documented to exist in 1839 and is likely much older, perhaps even 18th century (restored in 2021). The center has a long-running summer season ice cream shop that is open to the public. GPCs mission statement is "Through the beauty of natural setting and inclusive hospitality, Geneva Point Center provides a place to rejuvenate, nurture relationships and prepare to build a better world". The center has a previous Ecumenical history that is honored even today.

Bear Island is the second largest of the 264 islands in Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, United States. In the summer it is accessible only by boat because it is not connected to the mainland via a bridge. In the winter it can be reached by crossing the frozen lake, including by snowmobile. According to the Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society, the island got its name when a few hunters along with a few members of the Pennacook tribe were sent to survey the island. However, they encountered a few bears, which they decided to hunt. Originally the island was named "Big Bear Island", which was later shortened to "Bear Island" when the island was annexed by the town of Meredith in 1799.

YMCA Camp Belknap is an all-boys summer resident camp in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Founded in 1903, on Winnipesaukee's Timber Island, in the shadow of Belknap Mountain, its likely namesake. Relocated to Tuftonboro in 1907, this boys' camp was owned and operated by the New Hampshire YMCA until the demise of the state Y in 1996. It is now an independent non-profit affiliated with the national Y. Belknap celebrated its 100th year in operation in 2003, making it one of the oldest continuously operating camps in the United States.

Kimball Castle is the former summer estate of railroad magnate Benjamin Ames Kimball. It is located on a hill overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee in the town of Gilford, New Hampshire, United States. Although portions of the Kimball's original 300-acre (120 ha) estate have been subdivided, much of it remains conservation land managed by the town. The 20.1-acre (8.1 ha) subdivided portion on which the 2+1⁄2-story medieval-style castle stands is privately owned and no longer part of the Charlotte Kimball trust.

The Melvin River is an 8.1-mile-long (13.0 km) river in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of Lake Winnipesaukee, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Melvin River lies entirely within the town of Tuftonboro. It begins at the outlet of Melvin Pond, near the town's eastern border, and flows west along the base of the Ossipee Mountains to the north. The river reaches Lake Winnipesaukee at Melvin Village.

Melvin Village is a census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Tuftonboro in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. Its population at the 2020 census was 273. The village is a summer vacation spot on Melvin Bay of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Glendale is an unincorporated community in the town of Gilford in Belknap County, New Hampshire, United States. Glendale is located on the southern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee east of Laconia. Glendale is served by New Hampshire Route 11 and is near Laconia Municipal Airport.

Mirror Lake is an unincorporated community in the town of Tuftonboro in Carroll County, New Hampshire. It is located along the shore of Mirror Lake in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The village is located in the southern part of the town of Tuftonboro, and is adjacent to Lake Winnipesaukee as well as Mirror Lake. New Hampshire Route 109 (Governor Wentworth Highway) passes through the village, connecting Wolfeboro to the east and Melvin Village and Moultonborough to the west. Mirror Lake has a ZIP code of 03853 and is one of three ZIP code areas that cover the town of Tuftonboro, the other two being Melvin Village and Center Tuftonboro. The Mirror Lake zip code covers all of Tuftonboro Neck, 19 Mile and 20 Mile bays and a few of Tuftonboro's islands, including Cow, Farm and Chase. The remainder of Tuftonboro's inhabited islands are in the Center Tuftonboro zip code area, but have their mail shipped though Wolfeboro for delivery by mail boat. The center of Mirror Lake village is the junction of Tuftonboro Neck Road with the Governor Wentworth Highway. The Mirror Lake Community Church, which only holds services in summer, is in the village center. At one time Mirror Lake had a mill and a general store named "Ernest B. Piper, Groceries and Stuff" which closed in 1969. The village is known for its summer camps, of which there are 5, and for its summer cabin complexes. The village got brief international attention in 2000, when local innkeeper Chuck Diorio positively identified Massachusetts murderer Dr. Richard Sharpe, who was arrested at the Pine View Lodge in Melvin Village. The small village of Union Wharf lies just north of Mirror Lake, centered on an old dock and marina in 19 Mile Bay. Today Union Wharf houses a summer grocer, boat gasoline pumps, around 70 boat slips and a public beach. The area was once dominated by Nineteen Mile Bay Lodges, a summer cabin renter, which has since become a private property. It is known for its knotty pine cabins, built in the 1950s by Leon Proverb, using mostly materials from Charlestown Navy Yard in Massachusetts.

Mirror Lake is a 333-acre (1.35 km2) water body located in Carroll County in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Tuftonboro. The lake connects by a short outlet stream (not navigable) to Lake Winnipesaukee. The resort community of Mirror Lake, a village in the town of Tuftonboro, occupies the lake's western shore.

The Gunstock River is a 6.4-mile-long (10.3 km) river in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of Lake Winnipesaukee, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Gunstock River is entirely within the town of Gilford. It rises in the southern part of town, west of Piper Mountain, and flows north, collecting streamflow from the west side of the Belknap Range. The river flows through a wide valley in the center of Gilford, passing the town's middle and high schools, then drops through a steep ravine before reaching flat ground near Lake Winnipesaukee. The river enters the lake at Sanders Bay, near the junction of Routes 11 and 11B.

Governors Island is one of six bridged islands on Lake Winnipesaukee and is part of the town of Gilford, New Hampshire, in the United States. The island is primarily wooded and residential and has an area of 504 acres (204 ha). The island is an enclave of luxury homes, including some of the most expensive on the lake.
