Stelton is an unincorporated community located within Edison Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States.Established in 1689, the Stelton Baptist Church is the state's second oldest baptist congregation.The present-day NJ Transit Edison station was originally constructed c. 1870 at Central Avenue and Plainfield Avenue and named “Stelton” after the Stelle family, early settlers in Piscatawaytown who arrived in 1668 and who were still numerous in the area in the 1880s. The Pennsylvania Railroad renamed the station to Edison on October 29, 1956, as part of the changing of names in Edison to reflect the newly honored Thomas Alva Edison.

Edison is an NJ Transit station located 30.3 miles (48.8 km) southwest of New York City on the Northeast Corridor Line, in Edison, New Jersey. It is at the corner of Central and Plainfield Avenues (County Route 529) in the Stelton neighborhood of Edison which is located in the southwestern corner of the Township, and accessible by car via Reed Street (off Central Avenue). A small privately run convenience store operates in the waiting room of the north/New York City-bound platform. Passengers use a ticket machine as there is no station agent or station office. Elevators and ramps make both the north- and south-bound platforms wheelchair accessible. With the growing population of Edison, ridership has increased over the last 10–15 years, resulting in a shortage of parking spaces on weekdays and heavy traffic during rush hours.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edison, New Jersey is a Hindu temple built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, a Hindu denomination within the Swaminarayan Sampradaya. The first BAPS mandir built in Edison was consecrated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in August 1996. In 2019, a new mandir was built on the same property and a re-inauguration ceremony was conducted by senior monastic disciples. The central shrine of the mandir houses the sacred images of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Gunatitanand Swami, also known as Akshar-Purshottam Maharaj.

Edison is a township located in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Situated in Central New Jersey within the core of the state's Raritan Valley region, Edison is a commercial hub (home to Menlo Park Mall and Little India) and is a bedroom community of New York City within the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the township was the state's sixth-most-populous municipality, with a population of 107,588, an increase of 7,621 (+7.6%) from the 2010 census count of 99,967, which in turn reflected an increase of 2,280 (+2.3%) from the 97,687 counted in the 2000 census.What is now Edison Township was originally incorporated as Raritan Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 17, 1870, from portions of both Piscataway Township and Woodbridge Township. The township got its original name from the Raritan indigenous people. Portions of the township were taken to form Metuchen on March 20, 1900, and Highland Park on March 15, 1905. The name was officially changed to Edison Township on November 10, 1954, in honor of inventor Thomas Edison, who had his main laboratory in the Menlo Park section of the township.

Edison High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Edison, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school serves students of many diverse cultures, and is part of the Edison Township Public Schools. The other high school in the district is J. P. Stevens High School. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.Most of the Edison High School students come from either Herbert Hoover Middle School or Thomas Jefferson Middle School, though some come from Woodrow Wilson Middle School.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,223 students and 162.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1. There were 403 students (18.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 143 (6.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

White Rose Hamburgers (also known as White Rose System and formerly White Rose Diner) is a diner franchise located in Highland Park, New Jersey with a second location in Roselle, New Jersey. The restaurant franchise was ranked on America's best burgers list along with White Manna, another New Jersey burger joint.White Rose took the name "White" to emphasize clean meat. Many other restaurants have added the name "White" in their title based on this. In 2013, White Rose opened a location in New Brunswick, New Jersey.White Rose has daily deliveries of bread and meat. Orders are processed quickly in a streamlined process which has remained the same for decades.

The Rabbi Jacob Joseph School is an Orthodox Jewish day school located in Staten Island, New York that serves students from nursery through twelfth grade, with another branch in Edison, New Jersey. The school was founded in 1903 by Rabbi Jacob Joseph Herman and named in honor of Rabbi Jacob Joseph, chief rabbi of New York City's Association of American Orthodox Hebrew Congregations. After Joseph's death, his son Raphael and Samuel I. Andron obtained a charter from the New York Board of Regents in 1903 to establish a school in his name. The Rabbi Jacob Joseph School was known for its rigorous Talmudic curriculum and remains open to students from nursery age through the twelfth grade. Its founders originally established the school on Manhattan's Orchard Street in the Lower East Side . It moved to Henry Street in 1907, and expanded to a second building in 1914. Lazarus Joseph (1891–1966), grandson of Rabbi Jacob Joseph, and NY State Senator and New York City Comptroller, played an active role as a board member in the school.In 1969, it stopped its younger grades. Enrollment was low, and the neighborhood had become rough. In 1972, it made plans to open a new campus in Riverdale, but ultimately, in 1976, the school moved to the Richmondtown area of Staten Island, where it maintained the boys' school campus until 2017 (they then moved to Amboy Rd); a girls division of the elementary school was established in Staten Island's Graniteville section. In 1982, a boys high school branch and Beis Medrash was opened in Edison, New Jersey. Although the school ("RJJ") is no longer an "advanced" yeshiva, it "produced hundred of rabbis and community leaders in the late 1940s, the 1950s and the 1960s, and was also an important feeder school for the Lakewood yeshiva, Beis Medrash Govoha".The school also produces a semi-annual scholarly publication, the Journal of Halacha and Contemporary Society ("The RJJ Journal"), edited by one of its rabbinic alumni. The purpose of the Journal is to "study the major questions facing Jews... through the prism of Torah values," and "explore the relevant biblical and Talmudic passages and survey the halakhic literature including the most recent responsa. The Journal does not in any way seek to present itself as the halachic authority on any question, but hopes rather to inform the Jewish public of the positions taken by rabbinic leaders over the generations." Rabbi Dr. Marvin Schick served for over 30 years as the (unpaid) President of RJJ until his death in 2020; he had succeeded Irving Bunim.
