Moody Mansion

The Texas Heroes Monument is located in Galveston, Texas, and was commissioned by Henry Rosenberg to commemorate the brave people who fought during the Texas Revolution. The monument was built by New England Granite Works using Concord, New Hampshire, granite and bronze. The total cost was $50,000, and it was shipped before June 4, 1899. The sculptor of the monument was Louis Amateis. It is located at the intersection of Broadway and Rosenberg Avenue. It was unveiled on April 22, 1900.

The U.S. Post Office and Courthouse, also known as the Galveston Federal Building, is a post office and courthouse located in Galveston, Texas, USA. The building serves as the federal court for the Galveston Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Constructed in 1937, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 as Galveston U.S. Post Office, Custom House and Courthouse, the building is home a number of federal agencies, and at one point housed the Galveston Bureau of the National Weather Service.

Congregation Beth Jacob (Hebrew: בית יעקב) is a Conservative Jewish synagogue located at 2401 Avenue K, Galveston, on Galveston Island, Texas, in the United States. The present synagogue was built by Austrian, Russian and Hungarian immigrants in 1931. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2024.The congregation is small and active in the Galveston community. It is currently led Rabbi Todd Doctor. Rabbi Jimmy Kessler, of Congregation B'nai Israel, a local Reform synagogue, previously assisted the congregation with religious functions such as marriages and funerals.

Ashton Villa is a fully restored, historic home located on the corner of 24th and Broadway in Galveston, Texas, United States. Constructed in 1859, it was one of the first brick structures in Texas built by slaves.

Rosenberg Library, a public library located at 2310 Sealy Street in Galveston, Texas, United States, is the oldest continuously operating library in Texas. It serves as headquarters of the Galveston County Library System, and its librarian is also the Galveston County Librarian.

Central High School was a senior high school for African-American students in Galveston, Texas. It was a part of the Galveston Independent School District (GISD). Lorraine Smith Tigner, quoted in the Galveston County Daily News, stated that Central, established as the Central School in 1885, was the first Texas school for black people. In its first year Central had 125 students. It was renamed Central High School the following year.In 1949 it had 700 students. At the time fewer than 5% of the students who graduated attended universities and colleges.In 1968 the school was consolidated with Ball High School, previously the school for white people.

St. Joseph's Church is a historic church at 2202 Avenue K in Galveston, Texas. It is the oldest German Catholic church in Texas and one of the oldest buildings in Galveston.

O'Connell College Preparatory School (formerly O'Connell Consolidated High School) is a 4-year coeducational parochial/private high school in Galveston, Texas, United States that offers university-preparatory programs. It was founded in 1968 as a consolidation of Galveston Island's three existing Catholic high schools: Kirwin High School (Boys, founded in 1927) and Dominican High School (Girls, founded in 1882) and Ursuline Academy (Girls, founded in 1847) and is the only Roman Catholic high school in Galveston County.

The Sealy & Smith Foundation is a charitable foundation incorporated in Texas and based in the island city of Galveston. It was established in 1922 by John Sealy, II and his sister Jennie Sealy Smith with a charter stating a mission to: "support of a charitable undertaking in the City of Galveston, Texas, for the construction, remodeling, enlarging, equipping, and furnishing of the John Sealy Hospital, and other hospital building or buildings in the City of Galveston in connection with the John Sealy Hospital in said city, and endowment thereof, for the use of the people of said City of Galveston and providing them with the necessary medical care and attention therein." The foundation's endowment is funded from various sources, including mineral rights in the Permian Basin. It focuses the majority of its funding on programs supporting the healthcare and research at the University of Texas Medical Branch and its primary care facility, the John Sealy Hospital. Since its inception the foundation has contributed more than $800 million towards construction and equipping of medical facilities on the university's Galveston campus. In 2011 the foundation committed $170 million towards the construction of Jennie Sealy Hospital on the UTMB campus, an amount that represents the largest single gift ever to a Texas health institution.

It was chartered in 1942 by William Lewis Moody Jr. and his wife Libbie Rice Shearn Moody "to benefit, in perpetuity, present and future generations of Texans." The Foundation focuses the majority of its funding on programs involving education, social services, children's needs, and community development.

The E.S. Levy Building, also known as the National Hotel Building is a historic structure in Galveston, Texas. Originally the Tremont Opera house, some of the walls were retained when it was re-designed as the E.S. Levy department store in 1896. It was built for E.S. Levy & Co. and Ed S. Levy. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 13, 2003. The building is located at 2221-2225 Market Street.
