The Ramapo Valley County Reservation, also known as the Ramapo Reservation, is a 4,000 acres (16 km2) county park located in Mahwah, New Jersey in Bergen County, bordering Ringwood State Park to the north and the Ramapo Mountain State Forest to the south. The park lies on the border of the Piedmont and Highlands geologic provinces. The park offers hiking along a mountain brook with a waterfall, fishing in the Ramapo River, Scarlet Oak Pond, MacMillan Reservoir, and tent camping. Trails connect to the network of trails in the adjoining state forest and state park. The park also affords carry-in access to the Ramapo River for canoe, kayak and raft owners. The Reservation is popular among students from nearby Ramapo College, less than a mile away on Route 202, and acts as the school's Environmental Science laboratory. The park is also a noted geocaching hotspot in conjunction with the aforementioned adjoining parks. The former Bergen County Police substation near the parking lot serves as the headquarters for New Jersey Search and Rescue.

The Crocker-McMillin Mansion (also known as the Crocker Mansion and Darlington) is a historic house in Mahwah, New Jersey. It was built between 1903 and 1907 on the Darling estate for businessman George Crocker. After Crocker died in 1909, the banker Emerson McMillin lived in the 75-room, three-story residence until his death in 1922. From 1927 to 1984, the mansion was occupied by the Crocker-McMillin Mansion-Immaculate Conception Seminary. The property, located at 675 Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah, is one of New Jersey's historical landmarks. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Crocker-McMillin Mansion-Immaculate Conception Seminary is a historic seminary in Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The Immaculate Conception Seminary was founded in 1861 as part of Seton Hall University. From 1927 to 1984 the seminary was located in the Crocker-McMillin Mansion. It is now again part of Seton Hall University.It was built in 1903 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The Darlington Schoolhouse is located in the Darlington section of Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Theodore Havemeyer, with assistance from Alfred Darling, financed the building and hired Dudley Newton to design and oversee construction. The schoolhouse was built in 1891 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 2008. The first floor of the schoolhouse consists of a large room in which grades one through eight were taught. The second floor served as a community hall, and as a chapel used by members of the Dutch Reformed Church at Romopock. The schoolhouse has been restored by the New York–New Jersey Trail Conference, for use as its permanent headquarters.

Mahwah is the northernmost and largest municipality by geographic area (26.19 square miles (67.8 km2)) in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 25,487, a decrease of 403 (−1.6%) from the 2010 census count of 25,890, which in turn reflected an increase of 1,828 (+7.6%) from the 24,062 counted in the 2000 census. The name "Mahwah" is derived from the Lenape language word "mawewi" which means "Meeting Place" or "Place Where Paths Meet".The area that is now Mahwah was originally formed as Hohokus Township on April 9, 1849, from portions of the former Franklin Township (now Wyckoff). While known as Hohokus Township, territory was taken to form Orvil Township (on January 1, 1886; remainder of township is now Waldwick), Allendale (November 10, 1894), Upper Saddle River (November 22, 1894), and Ramsey (March 10, 1908). On November 7, 1944, the area was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature as the Township of Mahwah, based on the results of a referendum held that day, replacing Hohokus Township. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Mahwah as its ninth best place to live in its 2008 rankings of the "Best Places To Live" in New Jersey.

Campgaw Mountain is the northernmost ridge of the volcanically formed Watchung Mountains, along the border of Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Mahwah in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Located almost entirely within the bounds of Campgaw Mountain Reservation, the mountain offers numerous outdoor recreational opportunities, including the only ski slope in the Watchungs. Campgaw Mountain is commonly considered to be part of the greater Ramapo Mountains region, but the flora and geology of the mountain is quite different from the surrounding area and more closely resembles the nearby Preakness Range to the south.

Campgaw Mountain Reservation is a 1351-acre (5.5 km2) county park of Bergen County, New Jersey. It is located mostly within Mahwah, but extends into the northeastern part of Oakland (southwest of Glen Gray Road), as well as the northwestern part of Franklin Lakes. The park includes a ski area and the peak of Campgaw Mountain at a 735-foot (224 m) elevation.The ski area has two 2-person chairlifts and 3 magic carpet style lifts suitable for novice skiers. The first chairlift was built by HALL ski lift in 1968. Chairlift 2 was built by HALL in 1970, and features a midstation exit for skiers who do not want to go to the top of the mountain. The area also has opened up a section of the smaller hill for patrons to rent inner tubes and slide down to the bottom. There are two handle tow style lifts that drag the tube with the user in it to the starting area. The area also has a small lodge, cafeteria, snack bar, and equipment rental shop. The area is a hangout for local kids from the surrounding area. Many of the skiers are just beginning or are novices at the sport, and the mountain attracts people from the surrounding urban areas as well. It is the closest ski area to New York City. The mountain's highest trail features a vertical drop of 270 feet (82 m) over a distance of about 1,200 feet (370 m). The steepest section of this trail is the first 200 feet (61 m) downhill of the summit. The remaining 1,000 feet (300 m) or so of trail is mostly flat with a smooth decline. To the east of the park is Interstate 287. To the west of the park is U.S. Highway 202 and the Ramapo River. In 1955, the U.S. Army created a Nike Missile station there for the defense of the New York Metropolitan Area from strategic bombers. In 1959, the site was upgraded to house Nike-Hercules Missiles with increased range, speed and payload characteristics. The missile site closed in June 1971.

High Mountain is a mountain on the Bergen and Passaic county line, New Jersey. The peak rises to 1,106 feet (337 m). It is part of the Ramapo Mountains, and is not to be confused with the like-named High Mountain in the Preakness Range of the Watchung Mountains. High Mountain is partially within Ringwood State Park.

Green Hill is a mountain in Bergen County, New Jersey. The peak rises to 814 feet (248 m), and overlooks the Ramapo River to the southeast. It is part of the Ramapo Mountains.

Ramapo College of New Jersey (RCNJ) is a public liberal arts college in Mahwah, New Jersey. It is part of New Jersey's public system of higher education. As of the fall 2021 semester, there were a total of 5,732 students enrolled at the college, including 576 graduate students and 11 doctorate students.
