Chapelton is a market town in Clarendon Parish, Jamaica and the former parish capital.

Clarendon College, commonly called CC, is a high school in the town of Chapelton in northern Clarendon, Jamaica. It is the oldest school in the parish and was founded on February 2, 1942 by the Rev'd. Lester Davy, Minister of Religion of the Congregational Church Union of Jamaica. Lester Robert Davy was born in 1909, son of Ruth-Ann Eliza Davy (nee Phillips) and David S. Davy, of Davyton, Manchester. He originally trained as a teacher at The Mico University College in Kingston, Jamaica. Rev'd. T. Hughes of the Congregational Union of Jamaica convinced Davy to build a school and that he did accomplish at Rose Bank in Chapelton Clarendon. The school started with only two teachers, Rev. Davy and Mrs. Hyacinth Balford, and ten students including his nephew, Horace V. Freeman (later, CD, an attorney-at-law). The school was later relocated to its current location on Chapelton Hill. Following his tragic death in a train accident at the end of February 1942, the school was administered by Rev'd. and Mrs. T. A. M. Grant. An annual march is held on February 2 to highlight and commemorate the legacy of Rev. Lester Davy. Chinagozi Ugwu-Jibril, a famous Epidemiologist who has dedicated her life to improving lives of infants, attended Clarendon College. The current principal of Clarendon College is David Wilson and its motto reads: "Perstare et Praestare" which means persevere and excel.

Clarendon is a parish in Jamaica. It is located on the south of the island, roughly halfway between the island's eastern and western ends. Located in the county of Middlesex, it is bordered by Manchester on the west, Saint Catherine in the east, and in the north by Saint Ann. Its capital and largest town is May Pen.

The Peters Hill Limestone or Peters Hill Formation is a geologic formation in Jamaica. It preserves fossils such as rudists, echinoids and corals from the Santonian stage of the Cretaceous Period.

Croft's Hill is a settlement in Jamaica. Crofts Hill, is a name given the ending of British Colonial rule, Crofts is the Scottish word for small agricultural holdings. A sugar factory "Ludlow Works" which milled sugar canes from miles around, Arthur Seat, Kellits and near the British horse market. Closed as new developments unfolded. The lands that formed the Ludlow Works property were sold to cultivators, in small agricultural holdings.

Glenmuir High School (GHS) is a Jamaican secondary school located in May Pen, Clarendon Parish, Jamaica. It is among the top performing secondary schools in the country. In 2011 it was among the top 3 preferred schools for students who sat the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). In 2012 it placed 3rd in the country in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams, and in 2013 placed 4th for academic performance in the Secondary Schools Guide. Glenmuir educates over 1,700 pupils, aged between 10 and 20 years. Glenmuir was founded in 1958 by the Rt. Reverend Percival William Gibson, the Bishop of Jamaica, as a private co-educational secondary school of the Anglican Diocese, on a 25-acre site in an upper income residential road in May Pen. The school motto is "Flagrans Veritatis Studio" ("Burning with the Zeal for Truth").

The Rio Minho is the longest river in Jamaica at 92.8 kilometres (57.7 mi). It rises close to the island's geographic centre, flows generally south-southwest and reaches the Caribbean Sea at Carlisle Bay in the central south coast, to the west of the island's southernmost point, Portland Point.The town of May Pen, Clarendon lies on the banks of the river.

The Mocho Mountains are a mountain range in south-central Jamaica. It has been described as the "geographical center of Jamaica."The area was historically a site for bauxite mining, which led to deforestation in the area.

May Pen is the capital and largest town in the parish of Clarendon in Middlesex County, Jamaica. It is located on the Rio Minho river, and is a major market centre for the parish. The population was 61,548 at the 2011 census increasing from 59,550 in 2001, including the surrounding suburbs of Sandy Bay, Mineral Heights, Hazard, Palmers Cross, Denbigh, Race Track, and Four Paths among others. The town has a mayor.

Middlesex is the central of the three historic counties into which Jamaica is divided. It has no current-day administrative significance. It covers 5,041.9 km² and has a population of 1,183,361 (about 45% of the island's area and population) giving it the largest area and population of the three counties. It includes Spanish Town, the island's original capital. The county of Middlesex is shown in pink.

The approximate population of Palmers Cross is 26,262.Palmers Cross is the home of The Container Project, a non-profit UNESCO project bringing technology and self-sustainable media training to 'hard-to-reach' young people in Jamaica.
