Tongi Pilot School & Girls College (Bengali: টঙ্গী পাইলট স্কুল এন্ড গার্লস কলেজ) is situated in Auchpara, Tongi, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District, Bangladesh. It is one of the oldest schools in Gazipur District. In 1947 the school section was established, then in 1991 girls college section was opened.

Safiuddin Sarker Academy and College (Bengali: সফিউদ্দিন সরকার একাডেমি এন্ড কলেজ), also known as SSAC, is an educational institution with two shifts, located at Tongi, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District, Bangladesh. The schools under the institution offer five years primary education, five years high school education and two years education for tertiary level. The language of instruction is Bengali. In 2016, about 8,000 students are enrolled. There are about 170 teaching staffs including assistant professors to junior teachers.

Mazida Government High School is the only government high school in Tongi, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District, Bangladesh. The school was built in 1988.

Tongi Junction Railway Station is a railway station in Bangladesh located in Tongi, Gazipur District. It is a station between Dhirashram and Dhaka Airport railway station. It is about 5 km north of the airport station and about 12 km south of Joydebpur. The station is served by two dual gauge lines and two platforms. Tongi–Bhairab–Akhaura line starts from this station. During the Bishwa Ijtema, it become a hub of communication and additional trains plied the station.

Tongi (Bengali: টঙ্গী) is a major township in Gazipur, Bangladesh, with a population of 350,000. It hosts the Biswa Ijtema and features a BSCIC industrial area, which produces BDT 1500 crore of industrial products annually, and marks the northern border of Dhaka since 1786. Tongi Shahid Smrity high School compound is mass burial site of the genocide in Liberation War of Bangladesh.

Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital (Bengali: শহীদ আহসান উল্লাহ মাস্টার জেনারেল হাসপাতাল) is a government hospital situated in Gazipur, Bangladesh.

The Bishwa Ijtema (Bengali: বিশ্ব ইজতেমা, lit. 'Global congregation') is an annual gathering of Muslims in Tongi, by the banks of the River Turag, in the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Ijtema is considered a demonstration of Muslim unity, solidarity, mutual love and respect and an opportunity to reiterate their commitment to Islamic values. It is the biggest festival by population in Bengali culture, one of the largest peaceful gatherings in the world, and the second-largest Muslim gathering, with 5 million adherents, after the Arba'een Pilgrimage's 15–20 million attendees in Iraq, both surpassing the 2–3 million worshipers who participate in the Hajj, considered to be one of the five pillars of Islam, in Saudi Arabia. Bishwa Ijtema is a modern event where Muslim participation is voluntary.The Ijtema is a prayer meeting spread over three days, during which attending devotees perform daily prayers while listening to scholars reciting and explaining verses from the Quran, the central religious text. Speakers include Islamic scholars from various countries. It culminates in the Akheri Munajat (concluding supplication or final prayer), in which millions of devotees raise their hands and pray to Allah for world peace. Al-Quds Al-Arabi compared Ijtema with Kaaba to the poor people of the region.The Ijtema is non-political, and draws people of all persuasions. It is attended by devotees from 150 countries. The majority of its devotees come from across Bangladesh, the world's third-largest Muslim majority country. Despite being larger than Hajj, the obligatory Muslim pilgrimage, the voluntary Bishwa Ijtema remains largely unknown and underreported in the West. During the Ijtema, free meals and accommodation are provided by volunteers.

Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Tongi, Gazipur.

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) was established in 1993 under the Private University Act (PUA) of 1992 (now replaced by PUA 2010) by M Alimullah Miyan. IUBAT is a full member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London, and this extended formal recognition of IUBAT degrees in 35 countries or regions of the Commonwealth.

Sector 10 (Bengali: ১০ নং সেক্টর) is an area and residential sector in Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the largest administrative sector in the neighbourhood with more than 3000 plots. It was developed as a planned community and its plots were leased for residents in 1990. All the plots in this sector planned by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha were transferred to the leaseholders in 1997. As of 2016, it was facing the issue of shortage of water supply to its residences. Most of its streets are in a state of disrepair and have become almost unusable. There is a central mosque in the sector which was the reason of a controversy in 2019 after the mosque authority restricted the mosque for children. As of 2022, even though it is a residential community, its plots are used for commercial purposes which is illegal. In 2023, local residents formed a human chain in protest against the attempt to rebuild a newly demolished dumping station in the area.

Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College (TMMC) (Bengali: তায়রুন্নেছা মেমোরিয়াল মেডিকেল কলেজ) is a private medical school in Bangladesh, established in 2002. It is an institution of the Tairunnessa Memorial Medical Centre.

Uttara Town College is a college situated near Uttara at Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1998. It is a 5-storied building and it has a big place in front of it. The play ground is available for playing. The college has total 900 seats for students. It is privately operated and this college has its official website. It is also a university. So students can graduate from HSC and read there for higher education. The college consists of morning shift. The shift starts from 8:30 am and ends at 11:50 am.
