Princess Margaret Hospital is a public hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is run by the Canterbury District Health Board.

Centennial Park is a public park located in the suburb of Spreydon in the southwestern part of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is bordered by Lyttelton Street to the east, Rose Street to the south, Heathcote River to the west and Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre to the north. It was originally a shingle pit, extending as far north as Sparks Road. Christchurch City Council purchased the land in 1937 for use as a landfill. In 1950, the city's centennial year, it was announced that the landfill was to be converted to a park. The park was opened on 10 September 1955 by Robert Macfarlane (as Mayor of Christchurch) and Mabel Howard (in her role as chairman of the Reserves Committee). A memorial plaque is placed on the corner of Lyttelton Street and Sparks Road.Centennial Park is used predominantly as a soccer venue during the winter months, and a cricket venue during summer months. There are a total of fifteen sports fields in the park consisting of three cricket outfields, two intermediate soccer fields, three junior soccer fields, one senior soccer field, and six touch rugby fields. The park also includes a playground, barbecue, and public toilets.

Ngaio Marsh House is an historic home in Valley Road in the Christchurch suburb of Cashmere. It was the home of writer Ngaio Marsh for most of her life, and now serves as a museum to her. It is registered as a Category I heritage place by Heritage New Zealand for its outstanding historical significance in relation to Marsh.

Spreydon is a suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south-south-west of Cathedral Square. The most central street through Spreydon is Barrington Street. Spreydon is flanked by the suburbs Hoon Hay, Sydenham, and Lower Cashmere. State Highway 76 marks the northern boundary of the suburb, including the eastern end of the Christchurch Southern Motorway. Spreydon was constituted as a borough in 1911. It merged into the city of Christchurch in 1921.

Westmorland is an outer suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is situated mostly on a hillside and is a recent development of the city, dating back to the late 1970s. It is still under development, with the end of Pentonville Close being recently settled with modern family homes typical of middle to upper-middle class New Zealanders, predominantly in the usual bungalow style, called Worsley Estate. There is a road nearby called 'Worsleys Road'. However this is not connected to Worsley Estate at this time. Currently there is a lot of development happening at the top of the hill, going under the name of 'Westmorland Heights'. This is the final stage of the Westmorland development, and is expected to be completed in approx 2020, adding 250 homes to the suburb of Westmorland.

Hoon Hay is an outer suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, located at the base of the Port Hills and about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southwest of Cathedral Square. The area was named by Captain Wickham Talbot Harvey, a captain of the British Royal 10th Hussars, who moved to the area in 1852 and named it after the farm near Hatton, Derbyshire where he grew up. Harvey only stayed in the area for four years, before a fire destroyed his property and prompted him to return to the United Kingdom. Further fires in the following years destroyed the woodland which was on the property, including several large Tōtara, causing it to be converted into farmland. Remnants of this forest remain visible in the area, including with tree stumps being discovered during flood mitigation work on the Ōpāwaho / Heathcote River.Hoon Hay maintains aspects of both a rural and suburban surrounding. It is bordered by the suburbs of Hillmorton and Spreydon to the north, Somerfield and Cashmere to the east and Halswell to the southwest, along with new developments in the adjacent Port Hills. Despite this, the suburb is also bordered by farmland and the nearby Hoon Hay valley, maintaining the suburb as semi-rural. The Cashmere Stream, a tributary of the Ōpāwaho / Heathcote River, flows down the valley and through the suburb.

Cashmere High School (Māori: Te iringa o Kahukura) is a state coeducational secondary school, located in southern Christchurch, New Zealand. It was opened in 1956 in response to population growth in southern Christchurch during the 1950s. The school is located in the suburb of Cashmere, New Zealand, on the northern bank of the Heathcote River overlooked by the Cashmere Hills. Serving Years 9 to 13, Cashmere has a roll of 2106 students as of November 2022, making it the third-largest school in Christchurch.

Hackthorne Gardens, previously also known as Shirley and Grace Hohepa Home and Maddison on Cashmere, is a house located in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was built in 1928 and extensively restored in 2016.

Cracroft Reserve is a 3.2-hectare (7.9-acre) public reserve on Cracroft Hill in the Cashmere suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is situated next to the Sign of the Takahe. Cracroft Reserve is a popular stop for tourists, and residents, with its viewing platform at 200 metres (660 ft) elevation providing panoramic views of Christchurch city, the Canterbury Plains, and the Southern Alps. The main entrance to the reserve is from the southern end of Hackthorne Road. The reserve features a sturdy stainless steel plane table pointing to a wide range of landmarks visible from Cracroft Reserve, from Aoraki / Mount Cook to the south to Mount Tapuaenuku to the north. This sign, set on a Halswell stone base, was erected by the Rotary Club of Christchurch in 1967.Cracroft Reserve is named after John Cracroft Wilson. Cracroft Wilson sold the property, once part of the larger Cashmere farm, to the city in about 1925, as part of prominent local politician Harry Ell's initiative to establish a network of reserves, rest houses, and tracks through the Christchurch Port Hills.

The Sign of the Takahe is a neo-Gothic style historic building in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is currently leased from Christchurch City Council and run as a cafe, bar, and function centre.
