M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU; Russian: Московский государственный университет имени М. В. Ломоносова, romanized: Moskovskiy gosudarstvennyy universitet imeni M. V. Lomonosova) is a public research university in Moscow, Russia, and the most prestigious university in the country.The university includes 15 research institutes, 43 faculties, more than 300 departments, and six branches (including five foreign ones in the Commonwealth of Independent States countries). Alumni of the university include past leaders of the Soviet Union and other governments. As of 2019, 13 Nobel laureates, six Fields Medal winners, and one Turing Award winner had been affiliated with the university. The university was ranked 18th by The Three University Missions Ranking in 2022, and 76th by the QS World University Rankings in 2022, #293 in the world by the global Times Higher World University Rankings, and #326 by U.S. News & World Report in 2022. It was the highest-ranking Russian educational institution by QS in 2020, and according to the Nature Index in 2019 the highest ranked Russian university for research output. Moscow State University is generally accepted as the leading higher educational institution in the former Soviet Union.

The Faculty of Political Science of Moscow State University (Russian: Факультет политологии МГУ) is a scientific and educational structural division of Moscow State University, which trains students in the speciality of political science and conflict studies, as well as trains highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel in political science through graduate and doctoral studies.

The Fizfak (Faculty of Physics) of Moscow State University is one of the most esteemed faculties of Moscow State University, widely regarded by students as one of the toughest faculties in the university. It was established in 1933. The current dean of the faculty - Nikolay Sysoev.

The Faculty of History is one of the faculties of the Moscow State University. Established at 1934 on the base of the Historical-philological faculty of the university. The dean of the faculty was Sergey Karpov (since 1995 to 2018).

The Seven Sisters (Russian: Сталинские высотки, romanized: Stalinskie Vysotki, lit. 'Stalin's high-rises') are a group of seven skyscrapers in Moscow designed in the Stalinist style. They were built from 1947 to 1953. At the time of construction, they were the tallest buildings in Europe, and the main building of Moscow State University remained the tallest building in Europe until 1990.The seven are: Hotel Ukraina, Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Apartments, the Kudrinskaya Square Building, the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel, the main building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the main building of Moscow State University, and the Red Gates Administrative Building. There were two more skyscrapers in the same style planned that were never built: the Zaryadye Administrative Building and the Palace of the Soviets.

The main building of Moscow State University (in Russian Гла́вное зда́ние МГУ) a 239-metre (784 ft), 36-level (in its central part) skyscraper in Moscow, Russia. Designed by Lev Rudnev as the headquarters of Moscow State University, it is the tallest of seven Moscow skyscrapers in the Stalinist architectural style constructed between 1947 and 1953. It was until 1990 the tallest building in Europe before being surpassed by the Messeturm in Germany. It remains the tallest educational building in the world.

The MSU Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics (Russian: Механико-математический факультет МГУ) is a faculty of Moscow State University.

MSU Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics (CMC) (Russian: Факультет вычислительной математики и кибернетики (ВМК)), founded in 1970 by Andrey Tikhonov, is a part of Moscow State University.

The Moscow State University Materials Science Department (Russian: Факультет наук о материалах МГУ) is a faculty of Moscow State University, founded in 1991 at the base of Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Physics and Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. Former name of a structure was High School of Materials Science (Высший колледж наук о материалах). As of 2010 about 150 students studied at the faculty. Although the faculty is relatively small, the faculty includes members of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) among its members. The educational program of the faculty includes mathematics, physics, chemistry and mechanics, and also number of practical courses. The faculty annually accepts 25 new students. The education lasts 5.5 years (11 semesters) for Specialist degree, or 4 years for Bachelor's degree and 2 more years for Master's degree. The 1st dean and founder of the department is Yury Dmitrievich Tretyakov.

Graduate School of Business Administration (Russian: Высшая Школа Бизнеса МГУ им. Ломоносова), also known as Lomonosov Moscow State University Business School, founded in 1989 in Moscow State University is one GSBA Business School Moscow of the oldest business schools in Russia. Graduate School of Business Administration offers Bachelor of Management, Master in International Business, MBA, Executive MBA Programmes and Doctoral Programme (PhD). Lomonosov MSU BS also offers corporate programmes. Lomonosov MSU BS was ranked #1 in Russia according to the surveys held by the business magazine "Secret Firmy" in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

Ramenki District (Russian: район Раменки) is a district in Western Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 18.76 square kilometres (7.24 sq mi). Population: 126,000 (2017 est.) 125,128 (2010 Census); 101,485 (2002 Census).
