Fen Ditton

Fen Ditton Halt railway station served the village of Fen Ditton, Cambridgeshire, England from 1922 to 1962 on the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway.

Cambridge City Cemetery is the main burial ground for the city of Cambridge in Cambridgeshire. It is to the north of the city, at the junction of Newmarket Road and Ditton Lane, near to Cambridge Airport. The cemetery held its first burial on 6 June 1903 when it was known as Cambridge Borough Cemetery. This was later changed to The Regional Cemetery before finally becoming The City Cemetery; it occupies eight hectares.Known locally as Newmarket Road Cemetery, the cemetery has unlimited pedestrian access everyday including Sundays and bank holidays. The facilities include a car park and a memorial chapel.In addition to the main burial ground, the cemetery also has a Jewish Section, a Muslim Section, a Roman Catholic section, a large Commonwealth War Graves Commission section and the Cantetebrigge Memorial Garden.

Cambridge North railway station is a railway station located in the Cambridge suburb of Chesterton, close to Cambridge Science Park. The station is on the Fen Line, which runs from Cambridge to King's Lynn. It connects to the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, and provides an interchange with Park & Ride and local bus services. The station was approved in December 2013; construction commenced in July 2014; and it opened on 21 May 2017, delayed from December 2015.It has three platforms: platform 1 on the eastern side of the station serves southbound fast services to Cambridge, Stansted Airport, and London King's Cross as well as some morning peak-time services to London Liverpool Street; platform 2 serves northbound services to Ely, King’s Lynn and Norwich; platform 3 is a south-facing bay serving semi-fast and slow services to London Liverpool Street via Cambridge and Bishop's Stortford. A few services King’s Lynn to or from London King’s Cross pass through without stopping. All Cross Country services to or from Birmingham New Street and Stansted Airport also pass through without stopping.

Chesterton railway station was located on the line between Cambridge and Histon. It opened in 1850 and closed the same year.

Barnwell is a suburb of Cambridge in England. The population of the Barnwell ward of Cambridge City Council at the 2011 census was 1,967. It lies northeast of the city, with Cambridge Airport located immediately to the east. It forms part of the ecclesiastical parish of St Andrew the Less and was the site of Barnwell Priory. Barnwell is also home to the Leper Chapel near the Newmarket Road bridge over the railway at Barnwell Junction. Built in 1125 the chapel is one of the oldest buildings in Cambridge.

Cambridge City Airport (IATA: CBG, ICAO: EGSC), previously Marshall Airport Cambridge UK, is a regional airport in Cambridgeshire, England. It is located on the eastern outskirts of Cambridge, south of Newmarket Road and west of the village of Teversham, 1.5 NM (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) from the centre of Cambridge and approximately 50 mi (80 km) from London. Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Limited has a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P433) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction. The airport is available for corporate and private use, and is home to four flying schools. Since 2016 there have been no public scheduled flights from the airport.

Bramblefields is a 2.1 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Cambridge. It is owned and managed by Cambridge City Council.The site in the middle of a residential area has grassland, scrub and a pond with invertebrates such as frogs and newts. Birds include song thrushes.Part of the area is inaccessible behind fencing. At the one stage access to the new train station was proposed through here, but this was rejected by the city council in 2013. There is access from Laxton Way, Long Reach Road, Pippin Drive and Discovery Way.

Newmarket Road is an arterial road in the east of Cambridge, England. It is designated the A1134 at the western end, linked by a roundabout forming a junction with Barnwell Road (A1134) to the south. The eastern end links with the city's inner ring road at another roundabout, with Elizabeth Way (A1134) to the north and East Road (A603) to the southeast. Newmarket Road continues a short way towards the city centre, becoming Maid's Causeway and then Jesus Lane. To the east, the road becomes the A1303 and crosses the A14 at a major roundabout, continuing further east and parallel to the A14 out of the city. The road is named after the market town of Newmarket in Suffolk, east of Cambridge. The Abbey Stadium, home of Cambridge United Football Club is to the south of the road. The section at the north end of the stadium next to the road is known as the Newmarket Road End. The historic Leper Chapel of St Mary Magdalene is also close to the road, where it crosses the Fen Line railway. Dating from 1125, it is probably the oldest surviving building in Cambridge. The Cambridge City Cemetery is off the road to the north. There is a brick-built cemetery chapel.On the edge of the city south of Newmarket Road and west of the village of Teversham is Cambridge Airport. The main building was designed by the architect Harold Tomlinson and constructed 1936–37.The road includes large out-of-town stores such as B&Q, which forms part of more than 740,000 square feet (69,000 m2) of retail space. There are also a number of car showrooms.

Abbey Stadium is a football stadium in Cambridge, England. It has been the home ground of Cambridge United F.C. since 1932, and currently has a maximum capacity of 7,937 spectators. Cambridge Regional College F.C., Cambridge United's feeder club, played their home games at The Abbey from 2006 until their dissolution in 2014. The first match ever played at the Abbey was a friendly against a team from Cambridge University Press on 31 August 1932. The record attendance at the ground (14,000) was also for a friendly, against Chelsea to mark the first use of the ground's new floodlights on 1 May 1970. This was the first time an English League ground's record crowd had turned out to watch a friendly. Until well into the modern era, the Abbey Stadium was the only Football League ground to be styled a stadium, and was second only to Wembley Stadium in so being named. However, more recent ground moves and name changes have meant that a number of league clubs now play at grounds styled stadiums. For sponsorship reasons, the ground was until 2017 officially named the Cambs Glass Stadium. For similar reasons it has also previously been named the Trade Recruitment Stadium, and the R Costings Abbey Stadium. However, thanks to the cooperation of sponsors the ground has reverted to its original name of the Abbey Stadium.

Cambridge Business Park is a large business complex in Cambridge, England, owned by the Crown Estate. It is home to many companies, mostly IT-related, such as Qualcomm, Autonomy, MathWorks and Red Gate Software, but also intellectual property firms such as Mewburn Ellis, Venner Shipley and Mathys and Squire. It is close to Cambridge North railway station and the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, as well as Cambridge Business Park and St John's Innovation Centre.

Barnwell West is a 3.8 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Cambridge. It is managed by Cambridge City Council.This is a linear site along Coldhams Brook, which is managed to encourage water voles. There are birds such as kingfishers, redwings and fieldfares, and butterflies include speckled woods and orange tips.There is access from Barnwell Road and Coldham's Common.
