Providence Town Center

Yerkes is an unincorporated village in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States, just southwest of Collegeville. Yerkes is situated at a former road crossing of the Perkiomen Creek.

Arcola is an unincorporated community in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is located on Perkiomen Creek, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) west-northwest of Norristown.

Collegeville is a borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, a suburb outside of Philadelphia on Perkiomen Creek. Collegeville was incorporated in 1896. It is the location of Ursinus College, which opened in 1869. The population was 5,089 at the 2010 census.

The Speaker's House is a museum located in Trappe, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania that preserves the home of Frederick Muhlenberg, the First and Third Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. The house was built in 1763, bought by Muhlenberg in 1781, and occupied by his family until 1791.

The Henry Melchior Muhlenberg House, also known as the John J. Schrack House, is an historic home which is located in Trappe, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. A Pennsylvania historical marker which documents this structure's significance was dedicated on April 28, 1960. The house was subsequently added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Black Rock Dam is a low head dam in the Schuylkill River. Originally constructed as a stone filled, timber crib dam in the early 19th century by the Schuylkill Navigation Company, the dam was one of dozens built to create a slack water pools for the Schuylkill Navigation System. The dam is a contributing property of the "Schuylkill Navigation Canal, Oakes Reach Section" registered historic district. The dam is located between Phoenixville and Mont Clare in southeastern Pennsylvania, USA. The original dam structure is "L" shaped. There is the usual perpendicular crossing creating the low head spillway. However the majority of the structure is a long forebay for the canal, parallel to the left bank. The forebay has two spillways and ends with the structure of Lock 60. Lock 60 is the guard lock of the Oakes Canal portion of the Navigation. In 1828 a lock was added to the right side of the dam as part of the Chester County Canal addition to the Navigation, which provided water power and later transport to Phoenixville. In 1869 this canal was ruined by a flood. In 1902 three hydroelectric generators were added to the forebay by the Reading Traction Company to power a local trolley. The generators have been removed, but the dam is still owned by power company, Exelon. In the later 20th century, the perpendicular section was extended across the end of the forebay, creating a straight bank to bank dam and capping the forebay. In 2008, as part of a project to restore the migratory American shad to the Schuylkill, a fish ladder was added to the dam on the Chester County side. During construction, remnants of the Chester County Canal feeder lock were uncovered and documented by an archeologist.

The Perkiomen Bridge Hotel, also known as Lane's Hotel, is a historic, American hotel complex that is located adjacent to the Perkiomen Bridge in Collegeville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Black Rock Bridge is a historic concrete arch bridge carrying Pennsylvania Route 113 across the Schuylkill River between Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania, and Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It has five spans; three main spans are each 116 feet (35 m) long and flanked by two 103-foot-long (31 m) spans. The bridge was constructed in 1927, and features open-spandrel arches and solid concrete parapet walls.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Trappe (Pennsylvania German: Drapp) is a borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,509 at the 2010 census. Augustus Lutheran Church, built in 1743, is the oldest unchanged Lutheran church building in the United States in continuous use by the same congregation. It has been designated a National Historic Landmark.

The USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame honors the achievements of athletes and/or coaches of USA field hockey teams. The permanent home of USA Field Hockey's hall of fame is located at Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

The Perkiomen Bridge, originally built 1798-99 and widened in 1928, is one of the oldest stone arch bridges in the United States still in use. It crosses Perkiomen Creek near Collegeville, Pennsylvania. The bridge's six semi-circular arches cover a total of over 300 feet (91 m). The longest arch spans 76 feet (23 m). Its decorative piers and belt courses are unusual for a bridge this old. A lottery financed $20,000 of the original construction. The bridge carried the main road from Philadelphia to Reading, known at various times as the Manatawny Pike, Germantown Pike, the Philadelphia-Reading Pike, and US 422. Since the construction of the US 422 bypass, the road has been known as Ridge Pike or Old US 422.

Ursinus College is a private liberal arts college in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1869 and occupies a 170-acre (0.69 km2) campus. Ursinus College's forerunner was the Freeland Seminary founded in 1848. Its $127 million endowment helps support about 1500 students. Students choose from 60 courses of study.
