Kardia, Thessaloniki

Ano Scholari (Greek: Άνω Σχολάρι) is a village of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Mikra. The 2011 census recorded 178 inhabitants in the village. Ano Scholari is a part of the community of Trilofo.

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Thermi, of which it is a municipal unit. Population 18,145 (2011). The seat of the municipality was in Trilofo. The municipal unit has an area of 80.827 km2.

Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Mikra, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 7,227 inhabitants in the village and 7,405 inhabitants in the community of Trilofo. The community of Trilofo covers an area of 34.875 km2.

The community of Plagiari covers an area of 12.50 km2.

Dicaea or Dikaia (Ancient Greek: Δικαία or Δίκαια) was an ancient Greek city in northwest Chalcidice. It was an Eretrian colony as seen from the Athenian tribute lists.The site of Dicaea is located at Nea Kallikrateia, near modern Epanome.

Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Mikra, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 1,954 inhabitants in the village. The community of Kato Scholari covers an area of 23.80 km2.

Agia Paraskevi (Greek: Αγία Παρασκευή) is a village and a community of the Thermi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Vasilika, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 2,244 inhabitants in the village. The community of Agia Paraskevi covers an area of 15.574 km2.

Mesimeri (Greek: Μεσημέρι) is a village and a community of the Thermaikos municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Epanomi, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 1,831 inhabitants in the village. The community of Mesimeri covers an area of 12.825 km2.

Malév Hungarian Airlines Flight 262 was a flight from Budapest Ferihegy International Airport to Thessaloniki International Airport. On 4 July 2000, a Tupolev Tu-154, belonging to Malév Hungarian Airlines, used on this flight performed a gear-up touchdown during the landing at Thessaloniki, skidded on the runway, but was able to take off and land normally after a go-around. No injuries were reported.

Thessaloniki Airport (IATA: SKG, ICAO: LGTS), officially Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia" (Greek: Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Θεσσαλονίκης "Μακεδονία", romanized: Kratikós Aeroliménas Thessaloníkis "Makedonía") and formerly Mikra Airport, is an international airport serving Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece. It is located 13 km (8 mi) southeast of the city, in Thermi.The airport is the third-largest airport in the country after Athens International Airport and Heraklion International Airport. It opened in 1930 and was the second-busiest airport in Greece in terms of flights served and the third-busiest in terms of passengers served in 2016, with over 6 million passengers. It is the main airport of Northern Greece and apart from the city of Thessaloniki it also serves the popular tourist destination of Chalkidiki and the surrounding cities of Central Macedonia. The Athens–Thessaloniki route is the tenth busiest in the EU with 1.8 million passengers. To cope with demand, a second terminal was constructed in conjunction with Fraport and formally opened in 2021.
