Chistoprudny Boulevard

Pokrovsky Boulevard (Russian: Покровский Бульвар) is a major boulevard in the central part of Moscow running from Clean Ponds to Vorontsovo Pole Street, including Yauzsky Boulevard. With other boulevards like; Tverskoy Boulevard and Chistoprudny Boulevard, this is a part of the Boulevard Ring, running as a circle through the central Moscow.

The International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) is an autonomous department within the Higher School of Economics (HSE), a national research university in Moscow, Russia. The ICEF was founded in 1997 as a collaboration between the HSE and the London School of Economics (LSE). It is an affiliate centre of the University of London International Programmes. The college offers bachelor's and master's degrees with international recognition.

The Yauzsky Boulevard (Russian: Я́узский бульва́р) is a major boulevard in central Moscow. The boulevard runs from Vorontsovo Pole Street and Pokrovsky Boulevard down to Moskvoretskaya Embankment at the Yauza River, whence comes the name of the boulevard. It's the end of the important Boulevard Ring, an orbital ring filled with many boulevards.

Khitrovskaya Square (Russian: Хитровская площадь), also known historically as Khitrov marketplace (Russian: Хитров рынок) or simply Khitrovka (Russian: Хитровка), is a square in the centre of Moscow that existed from the 1820 to 1930s and was restored in the 2010s. In the second half of the 19th century Khitrovka became a bawdy place of Moscow, a den for thousands of unemployed and criminals. It is described by V.A. Gilyarovsky, C.S. Stanislavsky and other authors.

The Embassy of Australia in Moscow is the diplomatic mission of Australia to the Russian Federation. The current head of post and Ambassador of Australia to the Russian Federation is Graeme Meehan. The embassy serves as the diplomatic mission for Australia to the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The chancery is located at 10A/2 Podkolokolny Lane (Russian: Подколокольный переулок, д. 10А/2) in the Tagansky District of Moscow.Australia opened diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union in 1942. Between 1942 and the present day, the embassy has undergone numerous changes to both location and function as a result of changing relations between the two nations. These include changes to the status of the embassy – from unofficial diplomatic mission to consulate and finally embassy, changes to the nations the embassy is responsible for servicing, and specific events in the Australia-Russia relationship that have modified the operation of the embassy, the most notable of which being the Petrov Affair which culminated in the expulsion of the embassy and the cessation of official diplomatic relations between Australia and the Soviet Union in 1954.

The Clean Ponds (Russian: Чистые пруды, Chistye Prudy), is a large pond in Moscow, Russia, located in the Basmanny District, on the Boulevard Ring. The pond gives its name to Chistoprudny Boulevard, which runs from Turgenevskaya Square and Sretensky Boulevard towards Pokrovka Street, where it adjoins Pokrovsky Boulevard, and to Chistyye Prudy station on the Moscow Metro. According to retired KGB colonel Victor Cherkashin, author of Spy Handler: Memoir of a KGB Officer: The True Story of the Man Who Recruited Robert Hanssen and Aldrich Ames, the adjoining 'Chistyi Prudy (Clean Ponds)' is also part of "an old, prestigious neighborhood." On page 177 of his book, Victor Cherkashin spells the area as 'Chistyi' as opposed to 'Chistye.'The ponds were formed by a dam on the Rachka River which used to flow underneath the walls of the White City in the 17th century. Nowadays the river is underground, as are all the ponds but one. The Clean Ponds are fed by a system of water pipes. During the 17th century, people threw garbage and waste in the river and the ponds, getting them their former name of Dirty Ponds. In 1703, the ponds were acquired by Prince Menshikov, who built the Menshikov Tower in the vicinity. He had the ponds cleaned of garbage and rechristened to their current name. The ponds have since stayed clean. Nowadays the only pond remaining is home to some ducks. In the winter it is used as a skating rink.

Moscow Sovremennik Theatre (Russian: Московский театр «Современник») is a theatre company in Moscow founded in 1956. "Sovremennik" means "Contemporary".

The Rachka (Russian: Рачка) is a small river located in the Basmanny and Tagansky Districts, in the Central Administrative Okrug, in the center of Moscow and a former left tributary of the Moskva. Today it flows into the Yauza.

The Dolgorukov House in Kolpachniy Lane (Russian: Дом Долгоруковых в Колпачном переулке) is a mansion in the center of Moscow (Kolpachny Lane, Building 6, Building 2). Built in 1764 in the Baroque style on the basis of the chambers of the XVII century. It has the status of an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.
