Edgerton Park station

Thomas Jefferson High School is a closed public high school located in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, U.S.A., and was one of many high schools operated by the Rochester City School District. The building is currently used as the Rochester International Academy, a high school for students leaning English as a new language. Until 2020, the building is scheduled to be used as swing space for several elementary schools undergoing renovation, and will eventually become the permanent home to the RIA and a new K-8 school.

Emerson is a former Rochester Industrial and Rapid Transit Railway station located in Rochester, New York. It was closed in 1956 along with the rest of the line.

Edgerton Park Arena was an indoor arena in Rochester, New York. The building was originally constructed in 1892 as the drill hall for a training school for delinquent boys. When the school moved early in the 20th century, the building was turned into an indoor sports arena and exhibition hall. An artificial ice-making system was installed in 1935. The first professional team to use the building was the Rochester Cardinals hockey team in 1935–36. The Cardinals played in the International Hockey League and were a farm team of the New York Americans of the National Hockey League. Rochester could have been a charter member of the International-American Hockey League which formed in the summer of 1936 upon the merger of the IHL and the Canadian-American Hockey Leagues. However, the Cardinals went into receivership before the end of the 1935–36 season and no suitable owner could be found to operate the team. Also, the arena sat only 3,500 for hockey and officials of the new league wanted a minimum capacity of 5,000. The City of Rochester, the arena's owners, refused to expand the building. This refusal to expand the building meant Rochester had to wait until the Community War Memorial Arena (now Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial) opened in 1955 to join what by that point had become the American Hockey League. Rochester was awarded a new franchise in the American Hockey League in 1956 after Pittsburgh withdrew. The Rochester Americans began play in the 1956–57 season. Edgerton Park Arena was the primary home of the NBA's Rochester Royals from 1945 to 1955. The Royals moved into the new Rochester Community War Memorial for the 1955–56 NBA season. But because of periodic scheduling conflicts and the two-month-long 1956 American Bowling Congress Finals scheduled for the War Memorial, the Royals returned to the Arena to play several games during the 1955–56 season. It also hosted performances by the Glenn Miller Orchestra and cowboy star Gene Autry in the 1940s. The arena held 4,200 people for basketball. The building's last user, the Monroe County Fair, moved to what is now The Dome Center in Henrietta in 1957; the building was demolished shortly thereafter. The space is now the site of baseball fields behind the Rochester International Academy; the western wall of the building ran along what is now the far diamond's right field line, parallel to RIA's western wall.

Edgerton is a neighborhood in the Northwest Quadrant of Rochester, New York that sits between the Genesee River on the east and the Erie Canal bed on the west. One of the city's oldest and largest residential areas, Edgerton is among the most ethnically, linguistically, and racially diverse communities in Western New York. The neighborhood has been called "the Bermuda Triangle of Rochester" because of its "nearly invisible" status in local politics. Edgerton is currently the poorest neighborhood in Rochester, with an Unemployment Rate higher than that of the United States during the Great Depression. Edgerton has been one of the largest contributors to Rochester's physical, political, and social landscapes, especially during the neighborhood's time as the "heart of the city" in the 20th century. The home of radicals like Helen Barrett Montgomery and innovators like George Eastman, Edgerton is the birthplace of the first commercially successful flexible film and the modern vocational school. Today, the neighborhood contains the largest urban farm in Western New York, an abundance of public art and innovative architecture, and some of Rochester's most famous parks, such as Edgerton Park and the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Lower Falls Park and Jones Square Park.

Lyell Avenue is a former Rochester Industrial and Rapid Transit Railway station located in Rochester, New York. The line had a connection to the New York Central Railroad. It was closed in 1956 along with the rest of the line. An OTB currently sits on the site of the station.

Glenwood is a former Rochester Industrial and Rapid Transit Railway station located in Rochester, New York. It was closed in 1956 along with the rest of the line.

Holy Rosary Church Complex is a historic Roman Catholic church complex located in the Edgerton neighborhood of Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The complex consists of the church (1916), rectory (c. 1916), convent (1911), and two-story garage. All buildings in the complex are in a Spanish eclectic, Arts and Crafts style. The buildings are constructed of hollow tile brick and three feature their original Spanish clay tile roofs. The church features a rose window in the Mudéjar style similar to that of the Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo. The church also features a square brick bell tower in the southwest corner.The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Rochester Community Sports Complex Stadium, also called the "downtown soccer stadium", is a soccer-specific stadium in Rochester, New York within the Rochester Community Sports Complex. It is home to the Flower City Union of the National Independent Soccer Association. Previously to the Flower City Union, the stadium was home in 2018 to the Rochester Lancers and Lady Lancers of the NPSL and UWS, respectively. The stadium originally hosted the Rochester Rhinos of the USL, the Rochester Rattlers of MLL, and the Western New York Flash of the NWSL. The stadium hosts other sporting events such as collegiate soccer, Rochester Rhinos Elite youth soccer games and practices, American football, field hockey and drum and bugle corps competitions as well as concerts, as well as occasionally hosting the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Section V football championship and Far West Regional championship (played between Sections V and VI). It is owned by the City of Rochester and is operated as a youth sports complex.

Not Dead Yet (NDY) is a United States disability rights group that opposes assisted suicide and euthanasia for disabled people. Diane Coleman, is the founder and president. In 2004, NDY protested against the removal of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. It also protested against the movie Million Dollar Baby, in which the injection of an overdose of epinephrine to euthanize a suicidal quadriplegic woman is depicted as a rational and compassionate act. The group has been highly critical of utilitarian philosophers such as Peter Singer of Princeton University. Coleman has called Professor Singer "the most dangerous man on earth" and asserted that he was advocating genocide. In June 2015, NDY organized protests against Singer's position that new-born babies with certain disabilities can morally be killed, which he sees as no different from abortion. The 2015 protest happened because Singer had recently advocated that expensive treatments should be withheld from disabled babies to save the healthcare system money; Not Dead Yet’s first protest against Singer happened at Princeton University after it hired Singer in 1998. Both times the protesters called for Princeton University to dismiss Singer.

Driving Park is a former Rochester Industrial and Rapid Transit Railway station located in Rochester, New York. It was the terminus of the line from its opening in 1927 until the extension to General Motors in 1937. It was closed in 1956 along with the rest of the line.
