The Taiwan Times Village (traditional Chinese: 寶島時代村; simplified Chinese: 宝岛时代村; pinyin: Bǎodǎo Shídài Cūn) is a museum in Caotun Township, Nantou County, Taiwan.

National Caotun Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School (simplified Chinese: 国立草屯高级商工职业学校; traditional Chinese: 國立草屯高級商工職業學校; CTCIHS), also known as National Tsaotun Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School (sometimes abbreviated TTVS), is located in the town of Caotun, Nantou County, Taiwan, Republic of China.

Caotun Township, formerly transliterated as Tsaotun Township, is an urban township in the northwest of Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the largest township in Taiwan by population.

The Taichung Basin (Chinese: 臺中盆地; pinyin: Táizhōng Péndì), located in the central region of western Taiwan, is the third largest metropolitan area in Taiwan. It occupies parts of Taichung City, Nantou County and Changhua County. The 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan (Chinese: 國立自然科學博物館九二一地震教育園區; pinyin: Guólì Zìrán Kēxué Bówùguǎn Jiǔ'èryī Dìzhèn Jiàoyù Yuánqū) is a national museum in Wufeng District, Taichung, Taiwan. The museum is dedicated to the 7.3 earthquake that struck the center of Taiwan at 01:47:12.6 TST on Tuesday, 21 September 1999. The museum is located on the site of the former Guangfu Junior High School; the shell of the building forms the exterior walls of the museum and the museum's Chelungpu Fault Gallery crosses the fault on which the earthquake occurred.

Asia University (AU; Chinese: 亞洲大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: A-chiu Tāi-ha̍k), formerly Taichung Health and Management College (Chinese: 臺中健康暨管理學院; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-tiong Kiān-khong Kì Koán-lí Ha̍k-īⁿ), is a private university in Taichung, Taiwan. Founded in 2001, it offers education for degrees in health and medical science, computer science and electrical engineering, creative design, management, and humanities and social sciences. The university was founded with the goal of becoming an internationally competitive comprehensive university, and has been growing quickly since its creation. Specifically, being essentially a college with 17 departments and only about 2000 students when established in 2001, it has become a medium-size university with 28 departments and more than 12,000 students in 2018.

Jiujiufeng (Chinese: 九九峰; pinyin: Jiǔjiǔfēng; lit. 'ninety-nine peaks') is a nature reserve located at the border of Taichung City and Nantou County, spanning the cities of Caotun, Guoxing, Wufeng, and Taiping. The protected area contains many small, jagged peaks, hence the name.
