Baiyun Park Station (simplified Chinese: 白云公园站; traditional Chinese: 白雲公園站; Jyutping: baak6 wan4 gung1 jyun2 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Baahk'wàhn Gūng'yún Jaahm), formerly called Baiyun New Town Station during planning, is a metro station of Guangzhou Metro Line 2. It is located at the underground of Qile Road at the centre area of the former Baiyun International Airport, in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou. It started its operation on 25 September 2010.

The Guangzhou Gymnasium (Chinese: 广州体育馆; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Tǐyùguǎn) is an indoor arena in Guangzhou. The arena is used as a concert venue and for sporting events such as arena football, basketball, badminton and table tennis. It was constructed between 11 February 1999 and opened on 30 June 2001, with a seating capacity of 10,000. It was designed by Paul Andreu.

On 2 October 1990, a hijacked Boeing 737, operating Xiamen Airlines Flight 8301, collided with two other aircraft on the runways of the old Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport while attempting to land. The hijacked aircraft struck parked China Southwest Airlines Flight 4305 first, inflicting only minor damage, but then collided with China Southern Airlines Flight 3523, a Boeing 757 waiting to take off, flipping onto its back. A total of 128 people were killed, including seven of nine crew members and 75 of 93 passengers on Flight 8301 and 46 of 110 passengers on Flight 3523.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA: CAN, ICAO: ZGGG), formerly known as Canton Civil Airport or Pai Yuen Airport was the main airport in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China until 5 August 2004, when it was replaced by a new airport of the same title, 23 kilometres (14 mi) to the north.

Baiyun Culture Square Station (simplified Chinese: 白云文化广场站; traditional Chinese: 白雲文化廣場站; Jyutping: baak6 wan4 man4 faa3 gwong2 coeng4 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Baahk'wàhn Màhnfa Gwóngchèuhng Jaahm), formerly called Xinshi Station and later Convention Centre Station during planning, is a metro station on Line 2 of the Guangzhou Metro. It is located underground at the west end of Baiyun International Convention Centre, the east of Yuncheng Road West and the south of Qifu Road, in the Baiyun District in Guangzhou. It started operation on 25 September 2010.

Baiyun New Town (Chinese: 白云新城) is a new central business district (CBD) in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, China, located around the former Baiyun Airport. The CBD will be divided into six new communities: Huangshi (Chinese: 黄石), Xiaogang (Chinese: 萧岗), Jichang (Airport) (Chinese: 机场), Yunshan (Chinese: 云山), Chuangyi (Chinese: 创意) and Keziling (Chinese: 柯子岭). Xiaogang Village in the CBD will be redeveloped. New parks will be built around Baiyun Mountain, including Feixiang Park to the south and Community Park to the west. New buildings will be constructed, including an exhibition centre, the Guangdong Painting Academy, the Guangzhou Museum and the Guangdong Performance Centre.

Feixiang Park Station (simplified Chinese: 飞翔公园站; traditional Chinese: 飛翔公園站; Jyutping: fei1 coeng4 gung1 jyun2 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Fēichèuhng Gūng'yún Jaahm), known as Yuanjing Station and later Yuncheng Station during planning, is a metro station on Line 2 of the Guangzhou Metro. It is located under the west side of Yuncheng East Road, the east side of Yuncheng West Road and the south side of the former Baiyun International Airport, in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou. It started operation on 25 September 2010.

Xinshi Subdistrict (Chinese: 新市街道; pinyin: Xīnshì Jiēdào; lit. 'new city') is a subdistrict of Baiyun District, Guangzhou, located immediately to the west of the former Baiyun Airport. As of 2011, it has 19 residential communities (社区) under its administration.

Xiao-gang station (simplified Chinese: 萧岗站; traditional Chinese: 蕭崗站; Jyutping: siu1 gong1 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Sīugōng Jaahm), known as Jiangxia station during planning, is a metro station on Line 2 of the Guangzhou Metro. It is located underground to the south of Huangshi Road East (黄石东路), the east of Yuncheng Road West (云城西路) and the south of Xiaogang River (萧岗涌), in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou. It started operation on 25 September 2010. Xiao-gang station is within walking distance of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies north campus, as well as the west gate of Baiyun Mountain. The English station name is hyphenated to avoid confusion with the similarly named Xiaogang station on Line 8, which, in Mandarin, shares the same pinyin spelling but has a different tonal pronunciation and different characters (萧岗/晓港; Xiāogǎng/Xiǎogǎng). In Cantonese however, the two stations do not share the same spelling when romanised (Sīugōng/Híugóng).

Sanyuanli Subdistrict (Chinese: 三元里街道; pinyin: Sānyuánlǐ Jiēdào; Jyutping: saam1 jyun4 lei5 gaai1 dou6) is a subdistrict of Baiyun District, Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. As of 2020, it has 13 residential communities (社区) under its administration.

The Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZHTCM; 广州中医药大学) is a provincial public university in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Guangdong. The university is part of the Double First-Class Construction.

The Sanyuanli incident (Chinese: 三元里抗英事件) was a military conflict between regular troops of the British Army and an irregular force made up of Chinese militia and local citizens that took place around Sanyuanli village on the outskirts of Canton (now Guangzhou) on the 29 May 1841 after the Second Battle of Canton at the time of the First Opium War (1839–1842). Regarded by the British as a minor skirmish, to the Chinese it is regarded as a live example of a spontaneous uprising by the indigenous Chinese people in response to the actions of an actively aggressive invading foreign power since 1644.
