Little Diamond Brook

Diamond Brook, also known as Bass Brook, is a tributary of the Passaic River which flows south through a section of Bergen County in New Jersey, United States. Heading up the brook from the Passaic River, one encounters the boroughs of Fair Lawn and Glen Rock, as well as the village of Ridgewood.

Cadmus-Folly House is located in Fair Lawn, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983.

Fair Lawn High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in Fair Lawn, Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Fair Lawn Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,576 students and 116.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.6:1. There were 142 students (9.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 51 (3.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Stevenson Brook is a tributary of the Passaic River in Hawthorne, Passaic County, New Jersey in the United States. Stevenson Brook is one half mile long and once flowed unobstructed from the Diamond Bridge Avenue area of Hawthorne south to the Passaic River, but a significant section of the brook was culvertized early in the twentieth century. Two portions of the brook now remain intact at the surface, running from Diamond Bridge Avenue to Royal Avenue and from Wagaraw Road to the Passaic River. The section south of Wagaraw Road is crossed by a pedestrian bridge linking a parking lot to a local sports complex. There is a residential development along Stevenson Brook called Diamond Brook Hollow. The name of the development seems to be derived from a local tendency to refer to Stevenson Brook as Diamond Brook, because it is crossed by Diamond Bridge Avenue. However, the real Diamond Brook (40°56′47″N 74°08′32″W) lies about a half mile to the east in the towns of Glen Rock and Fair Lawn. A small stream that once flowed parallel to the Passaic River known as De Gray Brook connected into Stevenson Brook just north of its junction with the Passaic River. De Gray Brook was completely filled in with the construction of the Wagaraw Sports Complex.

Radburn is a New Jersey Transit train station in the Dutch Colonial Revival style, served by the Bergen County Line. It is on Fair Lawn Avenue in the Radburn section of Fair Lawn, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. It is one of two New Jersey Transit train stations in Fair Lawn, the other being Broadway. The station was designed and built in 1929 by Clarence Stein, as part of the Radburn development. It has been listed in the state and federal Registers of Historic Places since 1984 and is part of the Operating Passenger Railroad Stations Thematic Resource.

Hawthorne is an active commuter railroad station operated by New Jersey Transit in the borough of Hawthorne, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. It is the northernmost station in Passaic County along New Jersey Transit's Main Line. Trains coming through Hawthorne service Waldwick, Suffern and Port Jervis to the north and Hoboken Terminal to the south, where connections are available to New York City via Port Authority Trans-Hudson and ferries. The station, accessible only by Washington Place in Hawthorne, contains only two low-level platforms connected by a grade crossing. As a result, the station is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Garretson Forge and Farm is a farm owned by the Garretson Family since 1719. Located in Fair Lawn, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, it is one of the oldest historic sites in the county. The Peter Garretson House (also known as Garretson-Brocker Home) was built in 1720 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 19, 1974.

Hawthorne is a former rail station located in Hawthorne in Passaic County, New Jersey. Volunteer Railroaders Association (aka VRA), a non-profit railroad preservation group leases the station from the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway. The station house is an at-grade single story wooden structure featuring a Dutch gable roof, shiplap siding, and gingerbread trim. It served as the ticket office until June 30, 1966, and was also used as a freight depot building. The New Jersey Western Railroad built what is now about ten miles of the current New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway right-of way from Hawthorne to Bloomingdale from 1868 to 1870. It was consolidated into the New Jersey Midland Railway. The original station at this location was built in 1872. In 1894 a fire destroyed the station and the station was rebuilt in a larger form. Since 1872, the present station has been located on the corner of Royal Avenue and County Route 654 (Diamond Bridge Avenue). In 2010 the VRA undertook a massive fund raising needed to move the station. The move of just 75 feet within the same plot away from the corner was to alleviate the nearly monthly truck strikes to the southeast roof corner. As a part of this move a concrete brick and poured floor foundation was constructed. The move contractor hired made the move of the station onto the new foundation on September 20, 2010. After the move the areas of deteriorated siding were replaced and adding a new coat of paint was begun. Also added was a deck with safety railing, a fence between the station & the railroad and a garden area in the location of the old station footing. It is proposed that New Jersey Transit will build a new station for the northern terminus of the Passaic-Bergen Rail Line adjacent to the NJ Transit Main Line's Hawthorne station several blocks away from this station. The neighborhood of the original Erie mainline station would benefit from state funding to improve signage, lighting and parking.

Glen Rock High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Glen Rock, in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Glen Rock Public Schools. The school shares a campus with Glen Rock Middle School. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 693 students and 71.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.8:1. There were 3 students (0.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Fair Lawn is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, and a bedroom suburb located 12 miles (19 km) northwest of New York City. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 34,927, an increase of 2,470 (+7.6%) from the 2010 census count of 32,457, which in turn reflected an increase of 820 (+2.6%) from the 31,637 counted in the 2000 census.Fair Lawn was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 6, 1924, as "Fairlawn", from portions of Saddle River Township. The name was taken from Fairlawn, David Acker's estate home, that was built in 1865 and later became the Fair Lawn Municipal Building. In 1933, the official spelling of the borough's name was split into its present two-word form as "Fair Lawn" Borough.Radburn, one of the first planned communities in the United States, is an unincorporated community located within Fair Lawn and was founded in 1929 as "a town for the motor age." Fair Lawn is home to a large number of commuters to New York City, to which it is connected by train from two railroad stations on NJ Transit's Bergen County Line, the Radburn and Broadway stations. Fair Lawn's motto is "A great place to visit and a better place to live." Fair Lawn has been rated as one of the top 10 best places to live in New Jersey.

Radburn is an unincorporated community located within the borough of Fair Lawn in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.Radburn was founded in 1929 as "a town for the motor age". Its planners, Clarence Stein and Henry Wright, and its landscape architect Marjorie Sewell Cautley aimed to incorporate modern planning principles, which were then being introduced into England's Garden Cities, following ideas advocated by urban planners Ebenezer Howard, Sir Patrick Geddes and Clarence Perry. Perry's neighborhood unit concept was well-formulated by the time Radburn was planned, being informed by Forest Hills Gardens, Queens, New York City (1909–1914), a garden-city development of the Russell Sage Foundation. Radburn was explicitly designed to separate traffic by mode, with a pedestrian path system that does not cross any major roads at grade level. Radburn introduced the largely residential "superblock" and is credited with incorporating some of the earliest culs-de-sac in the United States. It was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 2005, in recognition of its history in the development of the garden city movement in the 20th century.

Glen Rock is one of two railroad stations operated by New Jersey Transit in the borough of Glen Rock, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Located on the Main Line, the station is signed as Glen Rock–Main Line to differentiate it from the Glen Rock–Boro Hall station, which lies two blocks east on Rock Road (County Route 134) on the Bergen County Line.
