Ardagh Fort is a ringfort (rath) and National Monument in County Limerick, Ireland, famous as the discovery site of the Ardagh Hoard.

Newcastle West GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland. The club was founded in 1887 and fields teams in hurling and Gaelic football.

Desmond Hall and Castle, also called Desmond Castle and Banqueting Hall or Newcastle West Medieval Complex and Desmond Hall, are a set of medieval buildings and National Monuments located in Newcastle West, Ireland. For over 200 years, it belonged to the Fitzgerald family, Earls of Desmond.

Newcastle West (Irish: An Caisleán Nua Thiar) or simply Newcastle (An Caisleán Nua, formerly anglicised Castlenoe) is a town in west County Limerick, Ireland. It is the largest town in the county, excluding Limerick city. It is also the county town, and sits on the River Arra which flows into the River Deel. Newcastle West is in the middle of a great bowl-shaped valley in West Limerick, known one time as the valley of the Wild Boar, apparently due to the abundance of this animal here when the area was thickly wooded. The crest of the town carries the image of a wild boar. The town is partly in the civil parish of Newcastle.Newcastle West is on the N21 road from Limerick to Tralee, between Rathkeale and Abbeyfeale. It is the second largest urban center in the county, with a population of 7,209 in 2022.

Ballygowan is an Irish brand of mineral water. It is bottled at Newcastle West in County Limerick, near its source at the site of a reputed holy well used by the Knights Templar. Ballygowan is the leading water brand in the Irish market. The company was founded by Geoff Read in 1981, who launched a marketing and distribution joint venture in 1984 with Richard Nash, a soft drink manufacturer. Anheuser-Busch took a stake in 1987, which was bought back in 1989. In 1993, Ballygowan was bought by Cantrell and Cochrane (now C&C), which sold its non-alcoholic brands to Britvic in 2007. The 1993 deal involved Nash selling the source but retaining part of the source area, which it later used for its own rival spring water brand.

Monasternagalliaghduff (Irish: Mainistir na gCailleach Dubh, meaning "The Black Nuns' Abbey") also called the Abbey of St Catherine de O'Conyl or simply Old Abbey, is a ruined Augustinian abbey in County Limerick in Ireland.

Mahoonagh or Castlemahon (Irish: Caisleán Maí Tamhnach) is a village and civil parish in County Limerick, Ireland. The village lies four kilometres south east of the town of Newcastle West. There are two villages within the civil parish of Mahoonagh, namely Mahoonagh and Feohanagh (Feothanach) villages. Mahoonagh village is the official name and it is known locally as Castlemahon (Caisleán Uí Mhathúna) village. There is one main street in Castlemahon and one main housing estate known as Churchview. There is a parish hall, a primary National School, a Roman Catholic church, two shops and two pubs, one car garage and a plant hire company within the village.

Carrigkerry (Irish: Carraig Chiarraí) is a village and townland in County Limerick, Ireland. The village is located in the civil parish of Ardagh, on the R523 regional road. Carrigkerry is a census town, and had a population of 184 as of the 2016 census.Carrigkerry is in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick in the parish of Ardagh & Carrigkerry The local church is dedicated to Saint Mary and was built in 1878. The local national (primary) school, Carrigkerry National School, had an enrollment of 52 pupils as of 2017.

Knockaderry (Irish: Cnoc an Doire, meaning "hill of the oak-wood") is a village in County Limerick, Ireland. The population of the Knockaderry electoral division (including the village and surrounding rural catchment) is approximately 500 people.

Killeedy (Irish: Cill Íde) is a civil parish located south of Newcastle West in Co. Limerick in Ireland. This parish consists of two villages, Ashford and Raheenagh. The elevation of the parish varies from 1,184 ft. OS at Mauricetown and 1,082 ft. at Dromdeeveen to 200 ft. OS at Ballintubber. The parish is overlooked by the Mullaghareirk Mountains. The patron saint of Killeedy is Saint Ita. Killeedy used to be known as Cluain Chreadhail but in later ages it had taken the name of Cill íde, the Church of Saint Ita, from a nunnery which was founded there in the sixth century. On 15 January of each year, the feast of St. Ita's Day is celebrated in Killeedy.

Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Irish: An Fheothanach – Caisleán Uí Mhathúna) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Mahoonagh, County Limerick, Ireland. It was founded in 1890. Coolyroe is the main centre for the GAA field, known as Quaid Park. Hurling is the main sport in Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Fheothanach – Caisleán Uí Mhathúna). For hurling, Mahoonagh parish is represented by Feohanagh and Gaelic football is represented by Castlemahon. There are also handball courts in Coolyroe. Feohanagh/Castlemahon won the 2011 West Junior A Hurling Championship defeating Dromcollogher/Broadford in the final in Feenagh on 15 October 2011 on a scoreline of 2–10 to 0–08. In 2013, they retained their West Junior A hurling title with a win over neighbours Feenagh/Kilmeedy. However, when the two sides met again in the county final, Feenagh won by 0–14 to 0–11. In 2014 Feohanagh/Castlemahon won the County Junior Championship hurling final beating Na Piarsaigh in a replay on a scoreline of 0-20 to 0-09. In football in 2013 they were beaten by Glin 0-08 to 0–07 in the West final, but like the hurling that year, the West runners-up won the county final as Castlemahon won on a score line of 1–08 to 1–07, securing intermediate status for 2014. They went on to defeat Drom-Inch of Tipperary and Coolmeen of Clare but were beaten in the Munster Junior Football Championship Final by Keel of Kerry by 0–14 to 0–04.
