Park Ridge is an active commuter railroad station in the borough of Park Ridge, Bergen County, New Jersey. Located at the intersection of Park and Hawthorne Avenues, the station services trains on the Pascack Valley Line, which runs from Hoboken Terminal to Spring Valley station in New York. The station contains a single low-level side platform split by Park Avenue (County Route 92) and a wooden station depot, built by the Hackensack and New York Extension Railroad. As a result, Park Ridge station is not handicap accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Railroad service through Park Ridge began on May 27, 1871 with the final extension of the Hackensack and New York Extension Railroad from Hillsdale station in New Jersey to the junction with the Erie Railroad Piermont Branch at Nanuet. However, in order to establish a stop in Park Ridge, the railroad requested Washington Township residents fund the construction of a new depot.

Park Ridge High School is a six-year comprehensive community public high school with an integrated two-year middle school located in the borough of Park Ridge in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in seventh through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Park Ridge Public Schools. The school is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. The school is located on the corner of Park Avenue and Pascack Road in the center of Park Ridge. The school is one of the three public schools in the town of Park Ridge, along with East Brook Elementary School and West Ridge Elementary School, which both serve grades K-6. Park Ridge High School's building has two sections: the "main" building of three floors and the "A-wing" of two. The main building contains a multipurpose venue known as the "little theater," which hosts arts events such as the annual Middle School Variety Show, including seasonal theatrical productions. The A-wing branches off into two gymnasiums through its lower floor. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 548 students and 59.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.2:1. There were 26 students (4.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Park Ridge offers several Advanced Placement (AP) classes, run by the College Board. Average SAT scores for the class of 2013-14 were 528 in Critical reading, 559 in Mathematics and 546 on the Writing component for a composite score of 1633, compared to statewide averages of 496 / 521 / 497 respectively, and a composite score of 1514. There were 59.0% of students who met the standard of a 1550 composite score on the SAT, which College Board research shows to be indicative of college success, vs. 44.6% statewide.

As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 8,883, an increase of 238 (+2.8%) from the 2010 census count of 8,645, which in turn reflected a decline of 63 (−0.7%) from the 8,708 counted in the 2000 census.

The U.S. Post Office in Pearl River, New York, is located at the junction of Franklin and Main streets in the hamlet's downtown. It is a brick building from the mid-1930s, serving the ZIP Code 10965, which covers the hamlet of Pearl River. Its design, an application of the Colonial Revival architectural style commonly used for post offices of that era, is unique to it. It shows a strong modernist influence, with almost no ornament on its exterior, and no public art inside. In 1988 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places with many other contemporary post offices in the state, including four others in Rockland County. Congress renamed the building the Heinz Ahlmeyer, Jr. Post Office Building in 2005, in honor of a local soldier missing in action and presumed dead during the Vietnam War until that year, when his remains were identified.

Pearl River is a railroad station in Pearl River, New York. It serves NJ Transit and Metro-North Railroad trains on the Pascack Valley Line. It is located at 35 South Main Street between West Central Avenue and Jefferson Avenue. Pearl River is the last station in New York, heading from Spring Valley towards Hoboken Terminal.

Saint Margaret School is a pre-Kindergarten through 8th-grade Elementary Catholic School in Pearl River, New York. It has been serving Rockland County's school districts since 1953. The school is known for its music program; students performed at the Lincoln Center in 2009.

The Edward Salyer House is located on South Middletown Road in Pearl River, New York, United States. It is a wood frame house built in the 1760s. Originally it was the main house of a farm that covered much of that neighborhood. It is one of the rare remaining Dutch Colonial frame houses in the county, and possibly the oldest house in Pearl River. It retains much of its integrity, including original interior finishes and exterior hardware, despite renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1986 it and its well, also original to the property, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Wortendyke Barn, at 13 Pascack Road in Park Ridge, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, was built in 1770 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 2, 1972. The historic Dutch barn was restored by Bergen County in 1973. The barn is home to the Wortendyke Barn Museum. The museum contains an exhibit on the development of agriculture in Bergen County.

Pearl River is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is east of Chestnut Ridge, south of Nanuet, west of Blauvelt, New York, and north of Montvale and Old Tappan, New Jersey. The population was 15,876 at the 2010 census.Pearl River is 20 miles (32 km) north of midtown Manhattan and just north of the New Jersey border. It is the first (traveling north) of three New York stops on New Jersey Transit's Pascack Valley Line.
