Falmouth Historic District is a national historic district located at Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia. The district includes 29 contributing buildings in the historic core of the town of Falmouth. Notable buildings include Basil Gordon Warehouse, Customs House, the Double House, Highway Assembly of God Church, old Post Office, Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, the Tavern, Tavern Keeper's House, Union Methodist Church, Master Hobby School, and the Counting House. Located in the district are the separately listed Gari Melchers Home, Carlton, Clearview and Conway House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Conway House, also known as the Moncure Daniel Conway House, is a historic home located at Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia. It was the home of author, clergyman, and abolitionist Moncure D. Conway (1832-1907) and used as a Union hospital during the American Civil War.The home was built in 1807, and is a large two-story, five-bay, L-shaped Federal style brick dwelling. It has a full basement, side-gable slate roof, brick interior-end chimneys.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. In 2005, the National Park Service formally recognized the home as a National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Historical Site. It is located in the Falmouth Historic District.

Carlton is a historic home located at Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia. It was built about 1785, and is a two-story, five-bay, Georgian style frame dwelling. It has a hipped roof, interior end chimneys, and a front porch added about 1900. The house measures approximately 48 feet by 26 feet. Also on the property are the contributing frame kitchen partially converted to a garage, frame dairy, and brick meat house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is located in the Falmouth Historic District.

Clearview is a historic home located at Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia. It was built about 1749 and is a two-story, five-bay, frame dwelling. It has a hipped roof, exterior end chimneys, and a distyle Tuscan order front porch. The house measures approximately 42 feet by 26 feet, with an 18 by 26 foot wing added in 1918–1919. The property was used by the Union army as an artillery position during the Battle of Fredericksburg in December, 1862.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It is located in the Falmouth Historic District.

Gari Melchers Home and Studio, also known as Belmont, is a National Historic Landmark and historic house museum at 224 Washington Street in Falmouth, Virginia. This much-altered 18th-century house was the home and studio of the popular American artist Gari Melchers (1860–1932) from 1916 until his death. It was given to the state of Virginia by his widow, and is now administered by the University of Mary Washington. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965, commemorating Melchers' influential role in bringing American art to European attention.

Situated on the north bank of the Rappahannock River at the falls, the community is north of and opposite the city of Fredericksburg. Since 2005, the stand, with its Art Moderne architectural facade, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Elmhurst is a historic home located at Fredericksburg, Virginia. It was built in 1871, and is a two-story, three-bay, double-pile, L-plan, brick dwelling in the Italianate style. It is topped by a hipped roof over a low-pitched, pyramidal and shed roof with a large belvedere and eaves supported by large, elaborate brackets. It has a 1+1⁄2-story kitchen wing added in 1900 and a 2+1⁄2-story addition and porch built between 1912 and 1921.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Washington Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Fredericksburg, Virginia. The district includes 36 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site (the Gordon Family Cemetery), and 4 contributing objects in the city of Fredericksburg. It includes substantial, high-style residences that line both the east and the west sides of Washington Avenue reflect the various domestic styles that were popular at the turn of the 20th century. Notable dwellings include the Samuel W. Somerville House (1896-1897), Shepherd House (1910-1911), and Mary Washington Monument Caretaker's Lodge (1896). The four commemorative works are the Mary Washington Monument (1893), General Hugh Mercer Monument (1906) by Edward Virginius Valentine (1838-1930), Jefferson Religious Freedom Monument (1932), and the George Rogers Clark Memorial (1929). Located in the district is the separately listed Kenmore.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
