Boxford is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Boxford in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 2,339 at the 2010 census.

The Spofford-Barnes House is a historic colonial house at 20 Kelsey Road in Boxford, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1749 by Paul Pritchard, a leading citizen of town. It was originally built in a saltbox style, but the rear was raised to a full two stories in the 19th century. From 1788 until 1911 the house was in the hands of first the Spofford and then Barnes families. In the 20th century it served for a time as the headquarters of the Kelsey Arboretum.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Boxford Village Historic District encompasses the historic early center of Boxford, Massachusetts, which was established in 1638 and incorporated in 1685. The district runs from near Towne Road in the west, along Main Street and Topsfield Road to Dana Road, and includes sections of Middleton Road (between Main and Elm), Elm Street (between Main and Middleton), Depot Road (between Main and Cross) and Cross Street (between Depot and Topsfield). It includes a remarkable concentration of structures dating to no later than the late 18th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It includes the Holyoke-French House, a First Period house owned by the Boxford Historical Society and operated as a house museum. The district was named as one of the 1,000 places to visit in Massachusetts by the Great Places in Massachusetts Commission.

Boxford is a town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town's population was 8,203 in 2020.The original town center of Boxford, along with East Boxford and other areas in the eastern part of the town, comprise the census-designated place of Boxford.

The Holyoke–French House is a historical house at Elm Street and Topsfield Road in Boxford, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with a side-gable gambrel roof, twin interior chimneys, clapboard siding, and a stone foundation. The center entrance is flanked by pilasters and is topped by a transom window and a gabled pediment.The first house on this site was built c. 1704 as a parsonage for Boxford's first preacher, Thomas Symmes. The present house was built in 1760 for the third minister, Elizur Holyoke. This house (as the name suggests) is known for two of the families that resided there, the Holyokes and the Frenches. This house is now owned by the Boxford Historical Society. The house owner allows people to have a tour of it.

The Palmer School, also known as the District No. 2 Schoolhouse, is a historic 19th-century one-room schoolhouse at 33 Main Street in Boxford, Massachusetts. Built in 1845, it is the town's last surviving 19th-century school building. It was used as a school until 1931, replaced by the Cole School, on whose grounds it stands. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Howe Village Historic District is a historic district in Boxford, Massachusetts. It encompasses an area in and around Massachusetts Route 97, just east of Interstate 95 and south of the junction of those two roads, and includes most of the properties on Ipswich Road and a few on adjacent roads. This area was among the first to be settled in what is now Boxford, and consists of a rural cluster of houses built between about 1750 and 1850. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Georgetown-Rowley State Forest is a 1,112-acre (450 ha) Massachusetts state forest located primarily in the towns of Georgetown and Rowley with a small spillage into the town of Boxford. The forest straddles Interstate 95 and abuts Willowdale State Forest at its southeastern edge. The forest is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The Rowley Village Forge Site is a historic colonia-era iron foundry site in Boxford, Massachusetts. The first iron forge in the area was established on Fish Brook in 1668 by Henry Leonard of the Leonard family, who were instrumental in the Saugus Iron Works further south. This business ran until about 1681, but the site also saw industrial uses into the 19th century, with sawmills and gristmills quickly replacing the foundry after it failed. Remnants of these works are visible from trails through conservation land off Lockwood Drive.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The Phineas Foster House is a historic First Period house in Boxford, Massachusetts. Like many First Period houses it was built in stages. The first portion, built c. 1725, was a single cell to the right of what is now the central chimney. It was extended with a matching section on the left side of the chimney later in the First Period, and acquired a two-story kitchen ell late in the 18th century, giving the house an L shape. The front porch entry is a Federal period addition, and the central chimney has been rebuilt. The house is named for the owner of the property in 1799.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, where it is listed at 15 Old Topsfield Road.

The John Boardman House is a historic First Period house in Boxford, Massachusetts. Its oldest portion dates to about 1740, but has stylistically older elements. It was moved to its current location from Saugus in 1956, before which it had undergone restoration. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Essex National Heritage Area is a National Heritage Area composed of all of Essex County, Massachusetts. It is overseen by the Essex National Heritage Commission (ENHC), a non-profit organization based in Salem, Massachusetts. The commission promotes the cultural heritage with public and private partnerships and with the National Park Service by developing programs that enhance, preserve and encourage regional awareness of the area's unique historic, cultural and natural resources.
