Bon Air (Elkton, Virginia)

Miller–Kite House, also known as Kite House, is a historic home located at Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built in 1827, and is a two-story, five-bay, L-shaped brick I-house dwelling. It has a cross-gable roof with eaves decorated with sawnwork filigree. It is traditionally believed to have been the headquarters of General Stonewall Jackson during the time that the renowned Valley Campaign was planned in April 1862. The house is a town landmark and museum operated by the Elkton Historical Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Elkton (formerly Conrad's Store) is an incorporated town in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. It is included in the Harrisonburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,762 at the 2010 census. Elkton was named for the Elk Run stream. It is located along the south fork of the Shenandoah River at the intersections of east-west U.S. Route 33 and north-south U.S. Route 340. The town celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008.

The Kite Mansion, also known as the Kite House, is a historic home located in Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built in 1948, and consists of a two-story, five-bay, central-passage plan main block with flanking one-story wings in the Colonial Revival style. It is constructed of concrete block and clad in running bond brick. The front facade features a Classical Revival style, pedimented, two-story portico. Also on the property is a contributing greenhouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

East Rockingham High School is located in Elkton, Virginia, United States; it is part of Rockingham County Public Schools and opened in August 2010. It relieved a severe overcrowding problem at Spotswood High School, which currently houses around 950 students. First Mountain State Forest is a state forest located in Rockingham County, Virginia northwest of the town of Elkton. The land is adjoined with George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. The land was dedicated as the 25th state forest by Governor Ralph Northam on 7 October 2019.

Strickler–Louderback House is a historic home located near Shenandoah, Page County, Virginia. It was built in 1852, and is a two-story, five-bay, brick dwelling with a two-story rear ell. It has a metal-sheathed gable roof, gable-end chimneys, and a one-story Greek Revival style front porch. The interior features Federal and Greek Revival style decorative detailing. It was renovated in 1989–1993. Also on the property are the contributing L-shaped outbuilding, grape arbor, chicken house, and family cemetery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

It was built in 1836, and it is a pyramidal shaped furnace measuring 32 feet high. It was instrumental in producing high quality pig iron that was used in the Mexican War and American Civil War. The furnace was abandoned in 1885.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
