Sterling Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is a tributary of the Ogeechee River.Sterling Creek was named after brothers William and Hugh Sterling, pioneer settlers in the 1730s.

Myrtle Grove is a historic plantation in Richmond Hill, Bryan County, Georgia, United States. American Revolutionary War hero Nathanael Greene was gifted a "Myrtle Grove plantation near Savannah from the citizens of Georgia" for his services as major general of the Continental Army.The plantation house was built in 1849, in the antebellum style, by Union Army brigadier general Richard Arnold as wedding gift for his daughter.During the 1920s and 1930, the house was owned by Pennsylvania native and district attorney Samuel Pennington Rotan. After his death in January 1930, his widow, Allethaire Chase Rotan, continued to live there. The house was renamed Folly Farm by the Rotans, after their former residence in Abington, Pennsylvania, but was later returned to its original Myrtle Grove name after the property on which the house stands.It has been owned since 1964 by brothers Walter (Buck) and John Meeks, and has been used as a filming location for over ten movie and television productions, including Glory (1989), The Underground Railroad (2021), Emperor (2020) and The Crickets Dance (2020). It was its appearance in Birth of a Nation (2016) that increased its popularity, however.

Buckhead is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in southeastern Bryan County, Georgia, United States. It is on Georgia State Route 144, 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Richmond Hill. The community was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 4,441.

The First Battle of Fort McAllister was a series of naval attacks that took place from January 27 to March 3, 1863, in Bryan County, Georgia, during the American Civil War. The commander of the South Atlantic Blockading Squadron Rear Adm. Samuel F. Du Pont decided to test operation of new monitors against Fort McAllister before conducting a major naval operation against Charleston, South Carolina.

Fort McAllister was a Confederate earthen-work fort used to defend Savannah, Georgia during the American Civil War. It was the southernmost of the forts defending Savannah and was involved in the most battles. It was located on the Ogeechee River in Bryan County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (#70000197). Fort McAllister was one of three forts protecting Savannah, the others being Fort Pulaski and Fort James Jackson standing in Confederate defiance of the Union naval blockade. The southeast coast of the United States was the place where both combatants tested the latest in naval artillery and coastal defenses. Fort McAllister was the key to unlocking the defenses around Savannah, one of the most important Confederate ports on the Atlantic Ocean.

Fort McAllister State Park is a 1,725 acres (698 ha) Georgia state park located near Keller and Richmond Hill in south Bryan County, Georgia and on the south bank of the Ogeechee River (some parts of the park border the Atlantic Ocean). It is roughly ten miles south of Savannah. The park is home to Fort McAllister, the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Though the earthworks were attacked unsuccessfully seven times by Union soldiers, it did not fall until it was taken by General Sherman in 1864 during his March to the Sea. The park, located on the coast, is nestled among giant live oaks and a large salt marsh. In addition, the park contains a museum specializing in Civil War artifacts. The fort was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

The Second Battle of Fort McAllister took place December 13, 1864, during the final stages of Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman's March to the Sea during the American Civil War. Union forces overwhelmed a small Confederate force defending the strategically important Fort McAllister near Savannah, Georgia, a major Federal objective.

Keller is a small unincorporated community located in southern Bryan County, Georgia, United States, east of Richmond Hill. Its boundaries are ill-defined, but the community could be said to be centered on the intersection of S.R. 144 and Belfast-Keller Road. Currently the area, like most of South Bryan, is an unincorporated community of extensive residential development with a number of planned neighborhoods. However, Keller also has a significant historical aspect. It is near Fort McAllister Historic Park, an earthen Civil War installation captured by General William Sherman on his March to the Sea. Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church, established in 1839 and rebuilt in 1885, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is located on Belfast-Keller Road about a mile from the S.R. 144 intersection. A number of antebellum plantation houses or sites exist along the marshes and waterfront areas of extreme south Bryan County, though none are in public hands or are preserved as historic sites. The community is part of the Savannah Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church on a 2-acre tract on Belfast Keller Road in Keller, Georgia. The historic district includes a manse (built in 1939) and a cemetery. The inside of the church has varnished tongue-and-grove wood paneling in different orientations to form decorative patterns. Many of the interior furnishings are original. It was built in 1885 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Richmond Hill High School (RHHS) is a public high school in Richmond Hill, Georgia, United States, which teaches grades 9-12. RHHS is located in the center of Richmond Hill at 1 Wildcat Drive, which is named after the school's mascot.

Burroughs is a populated place established as a town in Chatham County, Georgia by former slaves. In 1906, it was described as a post-village near the Ogeechee River about 12 miles southwest of Savannah. It had a population of 118 in 1900. The town was chartered in 1898 and had its charter revoked in 1921. It is now a neighborhood of Savannah. Burroughs is home to the historic St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and New Ogeechee Missionary Baptist Church. J. C. Legree was its first mayor. Henry Alexander Saturnin Hartley was a missionary to the area.The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad passed through Burroughs. There was a Burroughs Station. In 1993 a filing was made to remove a train station stop in Burroughs. The area has artesian wells. There is a Burroughs Neighborhood Park.
