Church of the Epiphany (Virginia)

Sully Historic Site, more commonly known as Sully Plantation, is both a Virginia landmark and nationally registered historic place in Chantilly, Virginia.The earliest recorded claim to the land was made by the Doeg. Later the Lee family of Virginia owned the land from 1725 to 1839. Richard Bland Lee did not build the main house until 1794. Following the purchase by William Swartwort in 1838, Sully was used as a home, a working farm, or both by a series of private owners. Then in 1958, Sully was acquired by the federal government as a part of the area to be used for the construction of Dulles Airport. Today the Fairfax County Park Authority operates the site with a specific focus on the Lee family.

The Mitchell-Weeks House is a "Potomac Valley style" log farmhouse first built in 1789. Descendants of builder Benjamin Mitchell lived in the house, located in Chantilly, Virginia just west of the intersection of Lee-Jackson Highway and Lee's Corner Road, until approximately 1940. Subsequent owners renovated and remodeled the house, but it currently preserves the Early American-era log front wall and stone chimneys. The Fairfax County Park Authority erected a historical marker for the house in 2003.

The Enola Gay () is a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Colonel Paul Tibbets. On 6 August 1945, during the final stages of World War II, it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in warfare. The bomb, code-named "Little Boy", was targeted at the city of Hiroshima, Japan, and caused the destruction of about three quarters of the city. Enola Gay participated in the second nuclear attack as the weather reconnaissance aircraft for the primary target of Kokura. Clouds and drifting smoke resulted in Nagasaki, a secondary target, being bombed instead. After the war, the Enola Gay returned to the United States, where it was operated from Roswell Army Air Field, New Mexico. In May 1946, it was flown to Kwajalein for the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests in the Pacific, but was not chosen to make the test drop at Bikini Atoll. Later that year, it was transferred to the Smithsonian Institution and spent many years parked at air bases exposed to the weather and souvenir hunters, before its 1961 disassembly and storage at a Smithsonian facility in Suitland, Maryland. In the 1980s, veterans groups engaged in a call for the Smithsonian to put the aircraft on display, leading to an acrimonious debate about exhibiting the aircraft without a proper historical context. The cockpit and nose section of the aircraft were exhibited at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) on the National Mall, for the bombing's 50th anniversary in 1995, amid controversy. Since 2003, the entire restored B-29 has been on display at NASM's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. The last survivor of its crew, Theodore Van Kirk, died on 28 July 2014 at the age of 93.

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, also called the Udvar-Hazy Center, is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (NASM)'s annex at Washington Dulles International Airport in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, Virginia. It holds numerous exhibits, including the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Enola Gay, and the Boeing 367-80, the main prototype for the popular Boeing 707 airliner. The 760,000-square-foot (71,000 m2; 17-acre; 7.1 ha) facility was made possible by a $65 million donation in October 1999 to the Smithsonian Institution by Steven F. Udvar-Házy, an immigrant from Hungary and co-founder of the International Lease Finance Corporation, an aircraft leasing corporation. The main NASM building, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., had always contained more artifacts than could be displayed, and most of the collection had been stored, unavailable to visitors, at the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility in Silver Hill, Maryland. A substantial addition to the center encompassing restoration, conservation and collection-storage facilities was completed in 2010. Restoration facilities and museum archives were moved from the museum's Garber facility to the new sections of the Udvar-Hazy Center.

CIA University (CIAU) is the primary education facility of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Founded in 2002 and located in Chantilly, Virginia, the school holds courses on various intelligence-related subjects, ranging from chemical weapons manufacturing to foreign languages. Students include CIA new hires, experienced officers, support staff, and individuals from other U.S. intelligence agencies. CIAU does not issue degrees.

The National Captioning Institute, Inc. (NCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides real-time and off-line closed captioning, subtitling and translation, described video, web captioning, and Spanish captioning for television and films. Created in 1979 and headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, the organization was the first to caption live TV and home video, and holds the trademark on the display icon featuring a simple geometric rendering of a television set merged with a speech balloon to indicate that a program is captioned by National Captioning Institute. National Captioning Institute also has an office in Santa Clarita, California.

The Church of the Epiphany Episcopal is an Episcopal church within the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia in Oak Hill, Virginia, United States. The church was established in 1985 as a 'mission church' by members of Truro Episcopal Church (Fairfax, Virginia) and is listed in a book compiled in 1989 by Don Massey for the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. The church is legally registered as Church of the Epiphany Episcopal while doing business as (DBA) Epiphany Episcopal Church, and is informally known as "The Church on the Corner."Epiphany Episcopal Church (AKA Epiphany) is one of 180 churches currently included in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia within the Episcopal Church of the United States, comprising some 69,000 Diocese members as of 2018. Epiphany Episcopal Church reclaimed tenancy of the buildings located on Hidden Meadow Drive in May 2012; the facilities remain part of The Episcopal Church's Diocese of Virginia. The first on-site priest in charge following the 2012 return was the Rev. Jennifer Gaines McKenzie, who served from May 2012 to August 2013. In January 2014, Epiphany Episcopal Church accepted Rev. Hillary West as priest in charge. Rev. West was named as rector following the parish annual meeting held on February 16, 2016 and was officially installed on August 11, 2016. Rev. West retired on May 31, 2020. After a process known as discernment, Epiphany Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Virginia selected Reverend Dina Widlake as the new Rector, starting in February 2022.

The NAVWAR Space Field Activity (NSFA) is one of three Echelon III activities under the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWARSYSCOM) of the United States Navy, co-located with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, Virginia. The activity was established to coordinate naval space and warfare systems activities within the National Reconnaissance Office. NSFA personnel provide naval warfare and acquisition expertise to national reconnaissance programs, coordinate naval space research, development, and acquisition activities with those same national reconnaissance programs, and provide and coordinate training and tools to enable the fleet to use national space capabilities.

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is a member of the United States Intelligence Community and an agency of the United States Department of Defense which designs, builds, launches, and operates the reconnaissance satellites of the U.S. federal government, and provides satellite intelligence to several government agencies, particularly signals intelligence (SIGINT) to the NSA, imagery intelligence (IMINT) to the NGA, and measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) to the DIA.NRO is considered, along with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), to be one of the "big five" U.S. intelligence agencies. The NRO is headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, 2 miles (3.2 km) south of the Washington Dulles International Airport. The Director of the NRO reports to both the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense. The NRO's federal workforce is a hybrid organization consisting of some 3,000 personnel including NRO cadre, Air Force, Army, CIA, NGA, NSA, Navy and US Space Force personnel. A 1996 bipartisan commission report described the NRO as having by far the largest budget of any intelligence agency, and "virtually no federal workforce", accomplishing most of its work through "tens of thousands" of defense contractor personnel.
