Luxembourg Airport

Aeroflot Flight 343 (SU343/AFL343) (Russian: Рейс 343 Аэрофлота Reys 343 Aeroflota) was a passenger flight from Moscow-Sheremetyevo Airport to Jorge Chávez International Airport, on a stopover at Luxembourg-Findel International Airport, that veered off the runway on 29 September 1982, fatally injuring seven occupants. The Ilyushin Il-62M operating the flight suffered a mechanical failure.

Cargolux Flight 7933 was a cargo flight which was involved in a serious incident on 21 January 2010 in which, while landing, it collided with on a vehicle that was on an active runway. The vehicle suffered major damage while the aircraft had damage to a tire. Three investigations were launched into the incident, without a clear result.

Findel is a village in the commune of Sandweiler, in southern Luxembourg. As of 2001, the village had a population of 103. Findel is dominated by Luxembourg Findel Airport, the only international airport in Luxembourg. It was at Findel that Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg returned to the country after its liberation at the end of World War II.

The Sandweiler German war cemetery is a World War II cemetery in Sandweiler, in southern Luxembourg. It contains the graves of 10,913 German servicemen from the Battle of the Bulge in winter 1944 and spring 1945. Of these, 5,599 were buried by the American war graves service during the war; American casualties were buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) away in Hamm.Following an agreement reached in 1952 between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Federal Republic of Germany, 5,286 bodies were moved to Sandweiler from 150 different cemeteries throughout Luxembourg. They had mostly lain in mass graves for which only incomplete records were available and the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge) set about identifying as many as possible. As a result, 4,014 of the 4,829 in the communal comrades' graves are now identified and listed.Planning for the cemetery began in May 1952, and it was inaugurated on 5 June 1955, ten years after the end of the war. The ceremonial opening took place in the presence of more than 2,000 relatives of the dead, whom the Volksbund had brought to Sandweiler in special trains. With them came also delegations of school children from every German federal state.In 2005, a special ceremony attended by civil and military representatives from Luxembourg and Germany as well as members of youth groups, took place to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the cemetery.The last remains interred were those of an unknown German soldier discovered in the forests of Schumann's Eck near Wiltz in late 2007.

Sandweiler (Luxembourgish pronunciation: [ˈzɑntvɑɪlɐ] ) is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of Luxembourg City. As of 2023, the town of Sandweiler, which lies in the south-west of the commune, has a population of 3,667. Other settlements within the commune include Findel and Birelerhaff. The commune is dominated by Luxembourg Airport, Luxembourg's only international airport and the fifth-busiest cargo airport in Europe, which lies to the north and west of the town of Sandweiler. It is also home to the Sandweiler German war cemetery. The commune is surrounded by forests.

Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial is a Second World War American military war grave cemetery, located in Hamm, Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. The cemetery, containing 5,074 American war dead, covers 50.5 acres (20.4 ha) and was dedicated in 1960. It is administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Luxembourg High Security Hub, until 2021 known as Luxembourg Freeport, is a €50-million high security storage facility adjacent to Luxembourg Findel Airport. The freeport opened in September 2014.

Neuhäusgen or Neuhaeusgen (Luxembourgish: Neihaischen) is a village in the commune of Schuttrange, in southern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the village had a population of 235.

Kinepolis Kirchberg is a multiplex cinema in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg, owned and operated by the Kinepolis Group, following their acquisition of the Utopia Group SA in late 2015. Prior to this, the multiplex was known as "Utopolis Kirchberg". It is located on Avenue John F. Kennedy east of the Kirchberg District Centre in the Kirchberg quarter, in the north-east of the city. Originally opened in 1996, it has a total seating capacity of 2505, spread across ten screens, making it the largest cinema in the country.

Kréintgeshaff (Luxembourgish: Kroentgeshof) is a small settlement near Sandweiler in the Commune of Contern in Luxembourg. It is located directly North-East of the Contern-Sandweiler Industrial zone and located adjacent to the E29 Main Road. The settlement is surrounded by small tracks and streams. The settlement gets no public buses however school Buses running from the Local Ecole Um Ewent Contern run directly to and from Kréintgeshaff every day.

Senningerberg (Luxembourgish: Sennengerbierg) is a town in the commune of Niederanven, in central Luxembourg. It is adjacent to the Grunewald forest and is characterised by an abundance of green natural spaces.As of 2018, the town has a population of 1,663.Senningerberg was served by the Luxembourg City-Echternach narrow-gauge railway line from 1904 until its closure in 1954.

Eurostat's main responsibilities are to provide statistical information to the institutions of the European Union (EU) and to promote the harmonisation of statistical methods across its member states and candidates for accession as well as EFTA countries.
