St Patrick's GAC is a Gaelic Athletic Association in County Antrim. The club was founded in 1950 and the current playing field is situated in Lisburn. The GAA club currently plays Gaelic football only and has the ranks from juvenile up to senior. The club participates in competitions organized by Antrim county board.

The Thiepval Barracks bombing was a double car bomb attack carried out by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) on 7 October 1996. The bombs exploded inside Thiepval Barracks, the British Army headquarters in Northern Ireland. One British soldier was killed and 31 people were injured. This bombing was the first major attack on a military base in Northern Ireland since the end of the IRA's ceasefire eight months earlier.

Thiepval Barracks in Lisburn, County Antrim, is the headquarters of the British Army in Northern Ireland and its 38th (Irish) Brigade.

HQ Northern Ireland was the formation responsible for the British Army in and around Northern Ireland. It was established in 1922 and disbanded, replaced by a brigade-level Army Reserve formation, 38 (Irish) Brigade, in 2009.

Derriaghy railway station is located in the townland of Derriaghy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It lies between the centres of Belfast and Lisburn. The station opened on 9 February 1907 and was closed to passengers between 1953 and 1958.

Poleglass (from Irish Poll Glas, meaning 'green hollow') is an area of west Belfast in Northern Ireland. It is the name of a townland, a modern electoral ward, and a housing estate. The townland is situated in the civil parish of Derriaghy and the historic Barony of Belfast Upper. It is mainly an Irish nationalist area. Due to its proximity to both Belfast and Lisburn, it has become popular with commuters. This has led to the swift growth of housing in the area and a sharp rise in house prices. Addresses in Poleglass are classed as being in Belfast, and the telephone numbers in the area generally start with '90' as with the rest of Belfast.

Friends' School, Lisburn is a Quaker voluntary grammar school in the city of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, founded in 1774.

Duncan's Dam is a dam situated in Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, near the Thiepval Army Barracks. It was used until 1941 as a water supply for Lisburn. The dam is now open to the public - there is a path around the water and a playground at the north end. The parking is free.

St. Colm's High School is a Roman Catholic co-educational secondary school situated in the Twinbrook area, on the edge of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The Wallace Park in Lisburn, Northern Ireland was bequeathed to the people of Lisburn by Sir Richard Wallace. There are a number of football pitches, tennis courts, a duck pond and a children's adventure play area. The grounds of Lisburn Cricket Club are in the centre of the park where Cecil Walker MBE is the groundman. A velodrome was opened in 1953, but this fell into disrepair. The removal of one of the bankings was proposed as part of the park's redevelopment plan in 2008, to open up views in the park. The park has had a major overhaul with major landscaping and modernisation completed in 2011. Three members of the world famous Irish band, the Shamrock Tenors, Matt Good, Jack Walsh, and Raymond Walsh, all attended the nearby Friends' School, Lisburn. The band cite the park as an important element to their development as musicians, inspiring them to think "beyond the bandstand toward a greener future". It is rumoured that the band return to the park once a year to play a discreet gig to the local skateboarding community.
