The club in Hancock Park was founded 103 years ago in 1919 and its Norman Macbeth-designed course opened the following year. South of Hollywood and six miles (10 km) northwest of downtown, it is bisected by Beverly Boulevard, connected by a narrow tunnel: the outgoing nine is on the south side, with the incoming nine and clubhouse on the north side.

The El Royale is a historic apartment complex located at the intersection of Rosewood Avenue and Rossmore Avenue in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The Ravenswood is a historic apartment building in Art Deco style at 570 North Rossmore Avenue in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was designed by Max Maltzman, and built by Paramount Pictures in 1930 just five blocks from the corner of Paramount's studios on Melrose Avenue.Mae West lived in the penthouse from its 1930 opening until her 1980 death. West, who invested in property throughout the Los Angeles area, bought the building when the management barred her then-boyfriend, African American boxer William "Gorilla" Jones, from entering the premises. James Timony, West's long time manager, close friend, and one-time boyfriend (pre-1930's), lived in the building until his death in 1954. Other residents have included Ava Gardner and Clark Gable, at different times.The Ravenswood was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 2003.

Developed in the 1920s, the neighborhood features architecturally distinctive residences, many of which were constructed in the early 20th century. Marlborough School is an independent college-preparatory secondary school for grades 7 through 12 at 250 South Rossmore Avenue in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Marlborough was founded in 1889 by New England educator Mary Caswell and is the oldest independent girls' school in Southern California. In 2016, Town & Country magazine ranked Marlborough as the "best girls' school in America."

The Los Angeles Tennis Club (LATC) is a private tennis club opened in 1920 that was the host of the Pacific Southwest Championships from 1927 until 1974 and 1980 until 1983. It is located at 5851 Clinton Street, between Wilcox and Rossmore, one block south of Melrose Avenue. It is currently the home of the Southern California Championships.

The Black-Foxe Military Institute was a private school in Hollywood, California, USA. It was located adjacent to the Wilshire Country Club to the west and south and the Los Angeles Tennis Club to the east.Black-Foxe was founded in 1928 by Charles E. Toberman, a Hollywood developer and financier, and Majors Earle Foxe and Harry Lee Black, both World War I veterans, on the site formerly occupied by Urban Military Academy, where Black had been commandant; Foxe was president, remaining in that post until 1960, Black commandant of cadets and Major Harry Gaver headmaster. From the start the school attracted the sons of people involved in the film industry, thanks to its location and Foxe's Hollywood connections. In 1954 Gaver died, and in 1959 Toberman sold the school to Raymond Rosendahl. In the early 1960s the name was changed to The Black-Foxe School. In 1965 Rosendahl sold the school to a nonprofit group that was unable to make a success of it, and in 1968 the mortgage holder foreclosed and Black-Foxe closed.
