Premium Point is a guard-gated private community in the city of New Rochelle in Westchester County, New York, United States. The area consists of a series small islands connected by bridges to a peninsular fronting on Long Island Sound and backing on Premium Mill Pond and Echo Bay. Much of the shore line of Premium Point is high and rocky, both on the Sound and on the Bay. Premium Mill Pond is located between the Premium Point peninsula and the mainland. It is fed by the Premium River and is separated from Echo Bay by the former Premium Mill dam. The only vehicular access to Premium Point is through a guardhouse and wrought iron gates at the end of the half-mile long entrance, Premium Point Road. The community is organized into a small corporation and run by a board of trustees. All property owners are members and stockholders in the Premium Point Association, Inc. The board dictates much about life behind the gates, from road repairs to security. The Association levies an annual tax for the purpose of maintaining 24-hour police guards at the entrance; constructing and maintaining all the roadways, which are private; collecting refuse; maintaining two docks located on the peninsula; and cleaning septic tanks, as the area has no public sanitary sewers. In addition, the Association provides a private beach for the residents.

Wildcliff, also referred to as the Cyrus Lawton House, was a historic residence overlooking Long Island Sound in New Rochelle in Westchester County, New York. This 20-room cottage-villa, built in about 1852, was designed by prominent architect Alexander Jackson Davis in the Gothic Revival style. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 31, 2002.The unoccupied mansion was destroyed by a suspicious fire on the evening of November 26, 2018. The house was a total loss. On December 12, 2018, four 13-year old, middle school boys (all local, New Rochelle residents) were arrested and charged in connection with the fire. All were charged as juveniles with misdemeanor third-degree criminal trespass, while one faces a felony charge of fourth-degree arson.

Pine Island is a small, privately owned island in the city of New Rochelle in Westchester County, New York. The island is situated off the coast of Davenport Neck near Sans Souci Beach in Long Island Sound.

Middle Ground (40.89538°N 73.75902°W / 40.89538; -73.75902) is a large submerged reef in Long Island Sound and part of the city of New Rochelle, in Westchester County, New York. This underwater embankment formed from the natural accumulation of rock and sand in shallow coastal waters. Rock outcrops just below the surface at the center of Middle Ground become exposed during low tide. Stripers and Bluefish are attracted to the shoal throughout the warmer season.

Sutton Manor is a distinctive early 20th century suburban residential district in the city of New Rochelle in Westchester County, New York. The neighborhood is located off the northern shore of Long Island Sound on Echo Bay. It was developed as an upper middle class enclave for families with heads of households employed in New York City and served as a model for the ideal suburban setting; harmonious architecture and exclusive amenities. The development appears to have been modeled on neighboring Larchmont Manor in the Town of Mamaroneck, yet on a smaller scale. That subdivision was conceived originally as an exclusive and convenient seasonal playground for New York’s wealthy upper classes, with its 6-acre waterfront park. In 2008, a New York State Certified Local Government grant allowed the 'Historical and Landmarks Review Board' to hire an historic preservation firm to conduct extensive research on the historic and architectural significance of Sutton Manor. For both its physical attributes and social aspects, Sutton Manor is a significant historic resource for the community and deserving of its protection through designation as a local historic district under the city code. Although not currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Sutton Manor meets all of the criteria and is clearly eligible for designation.

Salesian High School (SHS) is a private high school for boys in New Rochelle, New York, United States. It was established in 1920 and is part of the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. The school is located on the waterfront along Long Island Sound on the former estate of John Stephenson, the inventor of the horsedrawn trolley car. The Stephenson Mansion, a historic home, took seven years to build during the 1860s at a reported cost of $250,000. After Stephenson's death in 1893, the property passed through several hands before the Salesians of Don Bosco bought it in 1919. Today the mansion is the headquarters of the Salesian Order's Eastern Province, and is known as the Salesian Provincial Residence.

The Davenport House, also known as Sans-Souci, is an 1859 residence in New Rochelle, New York, designed by architect Alexander Jackson Davis in the Gothic Revival style. The "architecturally significant cottage and its compatible architect-designed additions represent a rare assemblage of mid-19th through early 20th century American residential design".: 5  The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Lispenard–Rodman–Davenport House is a historic residence dating back to the early 18th century located on the Davenport Neck peninsula in New Rochelle, New York. The house is the oldest residential structure in New Rochelle. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Davenport Neck is a peninsula in New Rochelle, New York, extending southwesterly from the mainland into Long Island Sound, and running parallel to the main shore. It divides the city's waterfront into two, with New Rochelle Harbor to the south and southwest, and Echo Bay, to the north and northeast. Glen Island and Neptune Island lie just to the west of the Neck, and Davids' and Huckleberry islands lie to the south. The Neck is one of the most important historical localities in the City of New Rochelle. Before white settlements, Siwanoy Indians encamped here, finding an abundant source of fish and wildlife. Until the early 19th century tidal mills produced flour and other goods for local use and for export. With the advent of steamboat, and the resorts and inns that sprang up along the waterfront as a result, New Rochelle became an enormously popular destination by the mid-1800s. Davenport Neck was the choice location for the "summer homes" of wealthy vacationers.

Manor Park is a park in the village of Larchmont, New York. It consists of about 13 acres (53,000 m2) of land (with a shoreline of more than 5,000 feet (1,500 m)) that lies along the Long Island Sound and Larchmont Harbor. It is well known for its striated rocks, gazebos, scenic views and walking pathways. The history of Manor Park goes back to 1614 when a Dutch ship captain "reported seeing campfires" belonging to the Siwanoy Indians in the area that now comprises the park. Within a century, British and Dutch settlers had purchased much of the land. In 1661, John Richbell, a wealthy trader purchased "three necks" of land from "Chiefs Wappaquewam and Manhattan" with the "middle neck" consisting the land comprising Larchmont and Manor Park. Samuel Palmer purchased the "middle neck" in 1701. Afterwards he and his family resided in the area until 1790 when most of the land was purchased by Peter Jay Munro, a nephew of John Jay, one of the "Founding Fathers" and the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Subsequent to Munro’s ownership, Thomas J.S. Flint purchased the property comprising Manor Park and much of the Village of Larchmont and established the Larchmont Manor Company with plans of "developing the [area] into a suburban community..." During the 1870s, he reserved 6 acres (24,000 m2) of waterfront land and named it Larchmont Manor Park, which became the heart of today’s park. Afterwards, the Larchmont Manor Park Society was established in 1892 to "maintain, preserve and protect the park" which also includes "nearby Fountain Square and four small traffic islands" and Manor Beach. The Society’s latest endeavors included a successful $1 million capital improvement campaign in 2003 to provide for seawall reinforcement and repairs, path curbing and repairs, landscaping, replacement of an old chain-link fence, and rebuilding of the west gazebo and a permanent endowment fund as well as an art show "Manor Park—In All Seasons" in May 2004. Although Manor Park is privately owned, it is open to the public from dawn to dusk.During Hurricane Sandy in 2012, much of the sea way was destroyed by storm surges, and a small part of the park was eroded into the water.

Horseshoe Harbor is a bay located on the north shore of Long Island Sound, in the village of Larchmont in Westchester County, New York. This small cove lies just westward of Larchmont Harbor and is used as a launch anchorage for small recreational boats. The deeper water in the entrance favors the eastern side, and the northwest side of the cove is bare at low tide. A rock, bare at low water and marked by a private spindle with can, lies 60 yards off the south side of the point on the west side at the entrance.
