Collett Park is a public park in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, United States. The park was established in 1883 on a parcel of land donated to the city of Terre Haute by Josephus Collett, a railroad magnate and philanthropist. Its 21 acres (85,000 m2) of tree-filled park land are approximately two miles north of downtown Terre Haute. A Romanesque Revival pavilion was built in 1894 by architect J. Merrill Sherman.The park's large main building with an indoor rental facility as well as outdoor shelters and restrooms. There are also football and soccer fields, a playground, horseshoe pits and tennis courts.Collett Park was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 for its historical significance in entertainment and recreation. The neighborhood that arose around the park, now known as the Collett Park Neighborhood Historic District, was placed on the Register itself in 2004.

Collett Park Neighborhood Historic District is a residential area in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, surrounding Collett Park. Collett Park was established in 1883 and named after its benefactor, Josephus Collett. A community of residents soon formed around it, living mainly in large, single-family houses that were set up in a grid around the park. Many of the homes were built between 1900 and 1920 and are of various architectural styles, including Queen Anne Style, Free Classic, Shingle Style and Colonial Revival.{ The area, with its tree-lined streets and impressive dwellings, became a fashionable place for the established residents of Terre Haute to live. In the time when Rose Polytechnic Institute (now Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology) was located only a few blocks south of the area, several professors built homes in the Collett Park neighborhood.Collett Park Neighborhood Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004 for its significance in architecture, community planning and landscape architecture. The Collett Park Homeowners Association helps care for the neighborhood. Collett Park itself was placed on the Register in 1983.

Twelve Points Historic District is a national historic district located at Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. It encompasses 12 contributing buildings in a suburban commercial district of Terre Haute. It developed between about 1905 and 1954, with most built between 1890 and 1920, and includes representative examples of Commercial, Art Deco, and Classical Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Twelve Points State Bank (1919), People State Bank (1923), Twelve Points Hotel (1908), and Garfield Theater / Harmony Hall (1939).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Terre Haute station, also known as the Big Four Depot, was a train station in Terre Haute, Indiana. Construction on the Big Four Railroad station started in 1898 and it opened to passengers on July 27, 1899. The station served Big Four (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway) trains, and after the railroad was absorbed into the New York Central, it served trains under that name. The station was on the New York Central's St. Louis - Indianapolis - Cleveland corridor, and it served several named trains on that route. The trains heading toward Cleveland included Missourian (St. Louis - New York City, with a section to Detroit), Southwestern Limited (St. Louis - New York City), as well as named and unnamed trains running strictly between St. Louis and Cleveland.The Amtrak National Limited (Kansas City–New York City and Washington, D.C.) ceased operation on October 1, 1979, ending rail service to the city. It was demolished in 1986.

WBOW was a radio station on 1230 AM in Terre Haute, Indiana, which broadcast between 1927 and 2001. In the early 1990s, the WBOW intellectual unit moved to a new 640 AM facility. 1230 then became WBFX, WZZQ and WBUZ, closing down when its licensee, Contemporary Media, Inc., had all of its licenses cancelled in response to a Federal Communications Commission investigation.

Sycamore Stadium is a baseball stadium in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. The venue is used by both the Indiana State Sycamores baseball team of the Missouri Valley Conference and the Terre Haute Rex of the college summer Prospect League. It has a capacity of 2,500 spectators.To date, it has hosted four Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championships, 1982, 2014, 2016, and 2023. It has also served as a regional host of the 2023 NCAA baseball tournament. It regularly serves as a venue for IHSAA and American Legion Baseball tournaments.

The Student Rec Center at Indiana State University is a building nearing completion on Indiana State's campus in Terre Haute, Indiana. The rec center will include a three-court gymnasium and a multi-activity court with a durable surface suitable for such activities as soccer and roller hockey. Plans also call for a leisure aquatics facility, jogging track, climbing wall, fitness center, spinning room, two multi-purpose rooms, student lounge, juice bar, and outdoor recreation yard.

Michael Simmons Student Activity Center is the current home of Indiana State University Trike and Tandem Races in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA. Constructed in 2005 by MSI Construction, INC. of Clinton Indiana to seat approximately 2,500 people, the facility's primary use is the home of Homecoming tradition of trike and the spring week tradition of Tandem. The stadium was officially dedicated on October 21, 2005. The stadium and its grounds also are used for intramural softball and football.

Terre Haute Union Station was a passenger train station located at Ninth Street and Spruce Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, serving riders for nearly 67 years. It was completed on August 15, 1893, at the cost of $273,000. Union Station was designed by Cincinnati architect Samuel Hannaford. The station was a three and a half story structure built in the Romanesque style. Originally, it served the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad and the Terre Haute & Indianapolis Railroad (which was bought by the Pennsylvania Railroad three days after Union Station opened), as it was at the junction of the two lines. The station also served the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (also known as the ‘Milwaukee Road’). The last Milwaukee Road service was a short line route to Bedford, Indiana to the southeast. The company moved its last service out of the station in the 1930s.Barbara Carney, a railroad museum administrator, said that Buffalo Bill, Jack Benny, and presidents Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman and Richard Nixon all stopped at Union Station at some point.The station was demolished in the middle of June, 1960, with a crowd of approximately 1,000 observing the event. For two decades in subsequent years, the building’s location was the site of the African American Culture Center at Indiana State University.

The station shut down when its licensee, Contemporary Media, Inc., had all of its licenses cancelled in response to a Federal Communications Commission investigation.

The Eugene V. Debs House, on the campus of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, was a home of union leader Eugene V. Debs. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966. The museum is maintained by the Eugene V. Debs Foundation, a non-profit educational foundation. Eugene V. Debs and his wife, Kate, built the two-story frame house in 1890, after their fifth wedding anniversary. Debs was criticized for the house not portraying working-class lifestyle; his wife was a beneficiary of her wealthy aunt's will and could furnish the house affluently. Visitors to Debs' house during his lifetime included friends James Whitcomb Riley and Carl Sandburg; one room in the house to this day is known as the Riley bedroom. When Debs died in 1926, a funeral sermon was given for him at the house, attended by 5000 people.Original features of the house include the cobalt blue porcelain tile fireplace imported from Italy, the mahogany dining and parlor furniture, and the entire set of Haviland china. The house is also a museum, with many memorabilia of Debs' life and some of his personal library, much of which is across the street at the library of Indiana State University. One room is covered by murals depicting Debs' life.After Debs' death, the house would see different owners. One was a professor at Indiana State University. It was used as the Theta Chi fraternity house from 1948 to 1961, and briefly was let as apartments. In 1962, the home was bought by the Eugene V. Debs Foundation, which continues to own the house. In 1965, it was made an official Indiana historic site by the Indiana General Assembly. In 1966, the home was made an official National Historic Landmark of the National Parks system of the Department of the Interior [1]. In 2004, it was removed from threatened status after sufficient repairs to the structure occurred to ensure its permanence. Today, the preservation of the property is monitored by the National Park Service.

Emeline Fairbanks Memorial Library is located in Terre Haute, Indiana. It was built in 1906 by the Modern Construction Company of Terre Haute. The building is in the Beaux Arts architectural style.The Emeline Fairbanks Memorial Library played an important role in Coca-Cola history. In June 1915, Earl R. Dean and T. Clyde Edwards were dispatched to the Emeline Fairbanks Memorial Library to research the ingredients of Coca-Cola. In the Encyclopædia Britannica, Dean came across a picture of a gourd-shaped cocoa pod. Inspiration from this cocoa pod lead Dean to his design of the iconic contour Coca-Cola bottle.In 1979, the library was acquired by the Indiana State University and would be converted into an art building five years later.
