Albertville (French pronunciation: [albɛʁvil] ; Arpitan: Arbèrtvile) is a subprefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France. It is best known for hosting the 1992 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. In 2018, the commune had a population of 19,214; its urban area had 39,780 inhabitants.

Halle Olympique (French: Olympic Hall) is an indoor arena located in Albertville, France. For the 1992 Winter Olympics, it hosted the figure skating and the short track speed skating events. It was first use for the 1991 Trophée Lalique, which was staged as a test event for the Olympics. The venue also hosted selected matches of the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship.

L'anneau de vitesse (French for 'speed oval') is a sports venue located in Albertville, France. It hosted speed skating events at the 1992 Winter Olympics. The stands, which remain present, were constructed as an airfoil from aerospace designs. The ice was made using 70 km (43 mi) of piping using R32 and brine refrigeration to cool the track to between −5 and −8 °C (23 and 18 °F) with 4 cm-thick (1.6 in) ice. Before this the surface was covered with 1.20 m (3 ft 11 in) of base sand in order to lay down the piping. The track serves nowadays as a multipurpose stadium used for athletics and football events.

Théâtre des Cérémonies was a temporary stadium in Albertville, France. Built to only host the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1992 Winter Olympics, the circular shape stadium was immediately disassembled following the games. The stadium held 35,000 and was built as a circus sphere. Part of the stadium was shipped to Barcelona and used during the 1992 Summer Olympics. During its existence, it was the largest such temporary structure ever built. The site is now a public and open park.

Pallud (French pronunciation: [paly]; Arpitan: Paleu) is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It is part of the urban area of Albertville.

The Canton of Albertville-Nord is a French former administrative subdivision, situated in the Savoie département and the Rhône-Alpes région. It was created in 1973. It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. In 2012, the population was 15,530. The Canton of Albertville-Nord consisted of the following communes: Albertville (partly) Allondaz Césarches Mercury Pallud Thénésol Venthon

Gilly-sur-Isère (French pronunciation: [ʒili syʁ izɛʁ], literally Gilly on Isère; Arpitan: Zèlyé) is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Gilly-sur-Isere is situated at the edge of Albertville to the bottom of the Combe de Savoie where you can access the valleys of Maurienne and Tarentaise and the valley of Arly and Beaufortain.

Allondaz is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It lies 4 km northwest of Albertville.
