Santee (Corbin, Virginia)

The Grove is a historic home located near Hanover, Caroline County, Virginia. The original main house was built about 1787, and expanded to its present size about 1800. The main section is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with a central hall plan. It stands on a small brick foundation and has a gable roof. The 19th and 20th centuries saw the construction of additions. Also on the property are a contributing smokehouse, water tower (c. 1920), tobacco barn, family cemetery, and site of an icehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Prospect Hill is a historic plantation house located near Fredericksburg, Caroline County, Virginia. The property is entirely surrounded by lands belonging to Santee. It was built about 1842, and is a two-story, five-bay, double pile, brick dwelling. It has a high hipped roof and four interior end chimneys. It features a wide single front entrance door framed by unfluted Roman Doric order columns supporting a plain entablature. Also on the property is a contributing slave house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

There are several outbuildings that surround the main house. They include a slave quarters, smokehouse, milk house and law office used by Francis Brooke. Though relatively small in size, the home is exemplary of Federal architecture. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in June 1975

Spotsylvania is a commuter rail station on the Virginia Railway Express Fredericksburg Line, located off US Route 17 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, about 5 miles (8.0 km) south of downtown Fredericksburg in the unincorporated community of Olive (with a Fredericksburg mailing address). It opened on November 16, 2015 – the first extension of VRE service since its opening.The station consists of a 700-foot (210 m)-long low-level platform with a canopy and a small headhouse with restrooms. The station has 1500 parking spaces for commuters.
