Lodore is a rural unincorporated community in northern Amelia County just south of the Appomattox River in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located along SR 616 (S. Genito Road) at its intersection with the northern terminus of SR 636 (N. Lodore Road).

Belona is an unincorporated community in Powhatan County, in the U.S. state of Virginia.

The Tabb Monument, dedicated in 1936, is a monument in Amelia County, Virginia dedicated to Virginia-born Catholic poet John Bannister Tabb. The marker, and the one-acre (4,000 m2) plot of land surrounding it, are managed as a state park by the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is Virginia's smallest state park.

Macon is an unincorporated community in Powhatan County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. Macon was a stop on the Farmville and Powhatan Railroad from 1884 to 1905 and then on the Tidewater and Western Railroad from 1905 to 1917. It is on the new Virginia State Route 13 between Powhatan, Virginia, and Cumberland, Virginia, from 1918 to today. Macon is near the Powhatan Wildlife Management Area.

Haw Branch is a historic plantation house located near Amelia Court House, Amelia County, Virginia. The earliest section of the house dates to 1748. It was enlarged and expanded after the Revolutionary War. The house consists of a five-bay central block with hipped roof and exterior end chimneys, flanked by symmetrical three-bay wings with hipped roofs. It was restored in 1965. The house features finely detailed Federal-style interiors added about 1815. Also on the property are a contributing little school house, a rectangular building with a massive central chimney housing the kitchen and weaving room, and a smokehouse on the eastern end of the row of dependencies.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Egglestetton is a historic plantation house located near Chula, Amelia County, Virginia. It was built about 1799, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, five-bay, frame dwelling with a gambrel roof. It has a Central-passage plan and has beaded weatherboard siding. The house was extensively restored in 1972–1973. Also on the property is an early 19th-century kitchen. It was built for planter and Congressman Joseph Eggleston (1754-1811).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Powhatan Wildlife Management Area is a 4,462-acre (18.06 km2) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Powhatan County, Virginia. Consisting primarily of former farmland, much of the area is currently covered by open fields; these combine with mature and new forest growth to provide habitat for a diverse array of wildlife. The property is divided by Route 60 and contains one interior parcel of privately owned land. The elevation of the property is between 200 and 350 feet (61 and 107 m) above sea level.The area is drained by several small streams that make their way to Sallee Creek, a tributary to the James River. Located on the property are the two Powhatan Lakes, which are 32 and 26 acres (13 and 11 ha) in size; an additional four farm ponds, numerous beaver ponds, marshes along Sallee Creek, and a small impoundment for waterfowl combine to provide water for the area.Powhatan WMA is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The area is open to the public for hunting, trapping, fishing, hiking, boating, horseback riding, and primitive camping. Access for persons 17 years of age or older requires a valid hunting or fishing permit, a current Virginia boat registration, or a WMA access permit.

St. John's Church, commonly known as Grub Hill Church, is a historic Episcopalian church in rural Amelia County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located on SR 609 (Grub Hill Church Road) just south of SR 636 (N. Lodore Road), between the communities of Amelia Court House and Chula. "Grub Hill" is an obsolete place-name derived from the "Grub Hill" slave quarters of the Tabb family, who donated the land for the construction of an Episcopal church. Grub Hill Church was originally established on the site in the mid-1700s; the current structure was built in 1852, and consists of a one-story gable-roofed brick structure in a vernacular Gothic Revival style.Currently owned by Christ Episcopal Church of Amelia Court House, St. John's is still used by the parish for occasional services, including the Eucharist in May and October.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Amelia Wildlife Management Area is a 2,217-acre (8.97 km2) Wildlife Management Area located in Amelia County, Virginia. Primarily upland habitat, it also preserves around 175 acres (0.71 km2) of bottomland hardwoods and beaver swampland along the Appomattox River. Much of the land was formerly used for farming; today it is managed to preserve wildlife habitat. The forest is mature, with gently rolling terrain, and an altitude between 200 and 300 feet (61 and 91 m) above sea level. Much of the area is bounded on the north by the Appomattox River.Amelia Wildlife Management Area is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The area is open to the public for hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, boating, and camping. Morven is a rural unincorporated community in northwestern Amelia County just south of the Appomattox River in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located in Leigh District at the intersection of SR 681 (Clementown Road) and SR 616 (S. Genito Road), northwest of Flat Creek. The name sometimes appears as "Moryen", probably a misspelling. A portion of the segment of U.S. Bicycle Route 1 that runs southwest from Richmond follows SR 616 through Morven.

Winterham is a historic plantation house located near Winterham and Amelia Court House, Amelia County, Virginia, on Grub Hill Church Road. It was built about 1855 and is a two-story frame structure with a hipped roof in the Italian villa style. It has four original porches and a cross-hall plan. Also on the property are a contributing late 19th century farm dependency and early 20th century garage.It is the only known Virginia building by Thomas Tabb Giles, a significant amateur architect, and William Percival, a significant professional architect. Giles was the son of Governor William Branch Giles, who owned Wigwam, another notable historic estate, located several miles north. A set of original architectural drawings for Winterham are housed at the Virginia Historical Society. In the 21st century, the house is privately owned and operated as a bed and breakfast and a venue for catering and weddings. Winterham was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
