Crosswater Club is a private golf club in the northwest United States, located in central Oregon at Sunriver, southwest of Bend. Opened 29 years ago in 1995, the par-72 golf course was designed by Robert E. Cupp and plays to 7,683 yards (7,025 m), at an approximate average elevation of 4,160 feet (1,270 m) above sea level. It occupies about 600 acres (2.4 km2) of wetlands and woodlands along the Deschutes and Little Deschutes rivers.At its opening in 1995, it was the longest course in the United States.The course hosted the JELD-WEN Tradition tournament for four years, from 2007 to 2010, a senior major championship. It has also hosted the PGA Professional National Championship four times: 2001, 2007, 2013, and 2017.

The Little Deschutes River is a tributary of the Deschutes River in the central part of the U.S. state of Oregon. It is about 105 miles (169 km) long, with a drainage basin of 1,020 square miles (2,600 km2). It drains a rural area on the east side of the Cascade Range south of Bend. The Little Deschutes and two other streams in its basin are listed as parts of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

Sunriver Resort is a luxury resort and residential community in central Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The resort is located at the edge of the high desert, just east of the Cascade Range, in Sunriver, 15 miles (24 km) south of Bend and 180 miles (290 km) south-southeast of Portland. The common areas throughout the Sunriver resort community are managed by the Sunriver Owner's Association. The elevation of the resort is 4,190 feet (1,280 m) above sea level.

Camp Abbot was a military training center in the northwest United States, located in central Oregon south of Bend. Active for less than sixteen months, the U.S. Army camp was used to train combat engineers during World War II and was named for Henry Larcom Abbot. A large part of site is now Sunriver Resort, and the rest has been incorporated into the Deschutes National Forest. The only remaining structure from Camp Abbot is the officers' mess hall; now part of the resort and known as the Great Hall, it is used for large conferences and special events.

Sunriver Airport (IATA: SUO, FAA LID: S21) is a public use airport located one nautical mile (2 km) west of the central business district of Sunriver, in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. It is privately owned by Sunriver Resort, L.P. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.It is used by travelers/private jets, glider tours around the area, and other uses to the public. It is located near the Sunriver Resort. It has enough parking spaces to hold 170 aircraft; 16 of the parking spaces are specifically designed for multi-engine piston and jet aircraft. The airport is also serviced by Enterprise Rental Car.

The Spring River is a tributary, only about 1 mile (1.6 km) long, of the Deschutes River in Deschutes County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Arising near Anns Butte, it flows generally northeast into the Deschutes at Sunriver, about 190 miles (310 km) from the larger stream's confluence with the Columbia River. The Spring River has no named tributaries.The creek has few resident fish but provides spawning and rearing habitat for the rainbow and brown trout and other species from the Deschutes. The lower river is accessible through United States Forest Service land.

Sunriver is a census-designated place and 3,300-acre (13 km2) planned residential and resort community in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,393. It is part of the Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area, located on the eastern side of the Deschutes River, about fifteen miles (25 km) south of Bend at the base of the Cascade Range. Sunriver consists of residential homesites and common areas, recreational facilities, the Sunriver Resort and a commercial development known as The Village at Sunriver. The Sunriver Resort Lodge has hotel rooms, banquet facilities, a fine-dining restaurant, and other amenities. Sunriver Resort manages four golf courses. Two are public (Meadows and Woodlands) and two are private (Caldera and Crosswater, available to guests staying at the resort). Sunriver also features the SHARC (Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Center), completed in 2012. There are also 34 miles of dedicated bike paths and 20 outdoor tennis courts .

Oregon Observatory is an astronomical observatory operated by the not-for-profit Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory in Sunriver, Oregon, United States, near Sunriver Resort. As of 2011, the observatory had eleven telescopes, and by 2013, it had twenty-three telescopes with thirteen of them 10 inches (25 cm) or more. In July 2012, the observatory was renamed the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver.

Three Rivers South is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. It is part of the Bend, Oregon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,014 at the 2010 census.

The Lava River Cave near Bend, Oregon, is part of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, which is managed by the United States Forest Service. At 5,211 feet (1,588 m) in length, the northwest section of the cave is the longest continuous lava tube in Oregon. While the cave's discovery in 1889 was officially credited to a pioneer hunter, the presence of obsidian flakes near the cave has led archaeologists to conclude that Native Americans knew about the cave long before settlers arrived in central Oregon.

Benham Falls are rapids of the Deschutes River located between Sunriver and Bend, Oregon, United States. With a pitch of 22.5°, they are rated Class 5 for watercraft, and are the largest falls on the upper Deschutes. The falls were created by the eruption of nearby Lava Butte approximately 6,000 years ago, as the lava flow dammed the Deschutes, forming a lake known as Lake Benham. The river eventually flowed over the dam, draining the lake and thus forming Benham Falls. Around 1885, J. R. Benham attempted and failed to file a land claim near the falls, though they were later named for him.Today, there are forest roads connecting Benham Falls to Lava Butte, Lava River Cave, and Sunriver Resort. A footbridge connects the forest road to an easy-to-navigate trail near the river and falls. The shady area has much wildlife and flowers. Because of this, the area also has mosquitoes. Additionally, the United States Forest Service has established a few lookouts over the gorge for viewers. Hikers and mountain bikers who continue on this trail pass Dillon Falls and Lava Island Falls, and eventually, the city of Bend. Benham Falls is relatively easier to see compared to the falls downstream, because it is not surrounded by lava flow from Lava Butte, but surrounded by forest. Because of its location, it is also much more popular. Benham Falls is also in the Deschutes National Forest and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Benham Falls Recreation Site and Benham Falls West Recreation Site are located nearby.

Dillon Falls are rapids on the Deschutes River in the U.S. state of Oregon near Bend in the Deschutes National Forest. With a pitch of 76.5°, the falls are a significant obstacle to whitewater running and are rated Class 5.Unlike nearby Benham Falls, Dillon Falls are not widely documented because they are hard to see. Trails provide a somewhat better view of the falls. The falls were named after Leander Dillon, a nearby homesteader. He died in 1907.Dillon Falls starts off as a dramatic 15-foot (4.6 m) drop, then become a steep and violent class-5 rapids with a hazardously positioned tree in the center before ending as class 2 and 3. Experienced rafters can run the falls before taking out at Lava Island Falls downstream.The Falls have an additional danger— the area of the Deschutes River above is very calm, wide and open. The Falls are around a bend in the River and to the unknowledgeable, when one sees the warning signs in such a calm stream, there might be the temptation to ignore them. The slot of lava flows the falls cut through tend to limit the amount of sound that travels that direction, too, so the falls are not easily heard from the area of calm water.
