It is located in the central western part of Mitchells Plain. Westgate Mall is located to the neighbourhood's immediate north on the other side of Morgenster Road.

Rocklands is a neighborhood located within the Mitchells Plain urban area of the City of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is located in the south western most corner of Mitchells Plain and borders the community of Strandfontein to its immediate west. On 20 August 1983 the United Democratic Front, an important anti-apartheid organisation, was founded at the Rocklands Community Hall.

It is located within the central area of Mitchells Plain with Mitchells Plain Town Centre located to its immediate east. Mondale High School is a school in the Western Cape, South Africa. The school was founded in 1982.The school's name is derived from the names of two roads running adjacent to the school: Montague drive and Merrydale avenue. Fees are R 2,717 (approx. $247) but collection is very poor as it serves a community where there are very high rates of crime and unemployment. Despite this, academic performance is very good with a 100% pass rate in the NSC examinations in 2015 . The school has also won the A-section athletics competition 23 times in the last 25 years. It has produced 13 provincial athletes and soccer players who have played in the Premier League and for the national team. It has also performed well in provincial quiz competitions, winning twice.

Mitchells Plain is a large township located within the City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa and situated about 28 km (17 mi) from the Cape Town city centre. It is one of South Africa's largest residential areas and contains multiple smaller suburbs. It is located on the Cape Flats on the False Bay coast between Muizenberg and Khayelitsha. Conceived of as a "model suburb" by the apartheid government, it was built during the 1970s to provide housing for Coloured victims of forced removal due to the implementation of the Group Areas Act. At an estimated population of 290,000–305,000 people, it comprises a number of sub-sections which reflect the diverse class backgrounds of the population. It was once a major stronghold of the United Democratic Front, the broad-based ANC-sponsored anti-apartheid body. It also has one of greater Cape Town's biggest shopping centres, known as the Liberty Promenade.
