Königswinter station

Königswinter (Kölsch: Köningkswinte; Low Franconian: Keuningswintjer) is a town and summer resort in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The Drachenfels Railway (German: Drachenfelsbahn) is a rack railway line in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. The line runs from Königswinter, on the east bank of the Rhine, to the summit of the Drachenfels mountain at an altitude of 289 m (948 ft). Besides the two terminal stations, an intermediate station serves the Schloss Drachenburg.The Drachenfels Railway is one of only four rack railways still operational in Germany, along with the Bavarian Zugspitze Railway, the Stuttgart Rack Railway and the Wendelstein Railway.

The CJD Christophorusschule Königswinter is a state recognized private, alternative school located in Rhein-Sieg-Kreis (North Rhine-Westphalia, on the border to Rhineland-Palatinate), and is run by the Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschlands (Christian Youth Village Foundation of Germany – CJD). The school consists of a secondary school and a high school, which correspond to the state equivalents. The Christophorusschule has about 1,450 male and female students (including 400 in the secondary school), and about 105 teachers for instruction. In addition, a dormitory is available for students in grades 5-12, a branch for the highly gifted students, a knowledge center for gifted demands, and a school psychology service with certified psychologists. Also, there is an exchange program with schools in the United States (Milford, Ohio), France (Avignon, Cognac and Sangatte), Spain (Boadilla del Monte), Sweden (Kungsbacka) and Japan.

Bonn-Mehlem station is a through station in the Bonn district of Lannesdorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It has three platform tracks and is located on the Left Rhine line south of Bonn Hauptbahnhof. The station also is served by buses and has parking spaces. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.

The Petersberg (331 metres (1,086 ft)), formerly known as the Stromberg, is a mountain in the Siebengebirge mountain range near Bonn, Germany. It overlooks the cities of Königswinter, on the right bank of the Rhine river, and Bonn on the opposite side. Today the peak is the site of the Hotel Petersberg, which serves as a guest house of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Schloss Drachenburg or Drachenburg Castle is a private villa styled as a palace and constructed in the late 19th century. It was completed in only two years (1882–84) on the Drachenfels hill in Königswinter, a German town on the east bank of the Rhine, south of the city of Bonn. Baron Stephan von Sarter (1833–1902), a broker and banker, planned to live there, but never did. The villa is owned by the State Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is served by an intermediate station on the Drachenfels Railway.

The Rheinhotel Dreesen is a Hotel in Rüngsdorf, a sub-district of Bad Godesberg, which is a municipal district of the city of Bonn, Germany. The building was established at the end of the 19th century. It is notable for its striking facade, its historical significance and its numerous prominent guests. The hotel is still operated by the original innkeeper family.

École de Gaulle-Adenauer (German: Schule de Gaulle-Adenauer) or École française de Gaulle-Adenauer (EFDGA), formerly the Lycée Français de Gaulle-Adenauer, is a French international school in Mehlem, Bonn, Germany. As of 2015 it has 176 students, including 75 école maternelle (preschool) students and 101 primary students.

Niederdollendorf railway station is a station on the East Rhine Railway (German: Rechte Rheinstrecke) in the Königswinter suburb of Niederdollendorf in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is a protected as a monument. The station was opened on 11 July 1870 as part of the extension of the East Rhine Railway from Neuwied to Oberkassel.At its core is the entrance building, which is a two-story brick building built in 1898. To its north and south it is bordered by single-storey extensions. The station restaurant is in the southern extension. The northern extension was built later to house rail services. The upper floor of the main building was designed to accommodate rail service apartments. The station has a gabled central avant-corps and the windows and the portals have rounded tops. The facades are decorated with cornices attached to the gable and terracotta friezes. The platform canopies have cast iron columns.About 50 metres to the north of the station building is an operations building, which was built also of brick in 1910 for the handling of freight. The hip roof of the building is provided with dormers. Its knee wall is made of timber. The handling of freight at Niederdollendorf station was gradually abandoned in the 1940s and 1950s. It had been the terminus of the narrow-gauge Heisterbach Valley Railway, which closed in 1942.The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. Oberdollendorf Stadtbahn station on the Siebengebirge Railway (part of the Bonn Stadtbahn) is about 200 metres to the east and, like Niederdollendorf station, it is on Heisterbacher Straße, enabling quick transfers. The station is served hourly by Regional-Express service RE 8 (Rhein-Erft-Express) and Regionalbahn service RB 27 (Rhein-Erft-Bahn), which complement each another to provide an approximate half-hourly service.

The Drachenfels ("Dragon's Rock", German pronunciation: [ˈdʁaxənˌfɛls]) is a hill (321 metres (1,053 ft)) in the Siebengebirge uplands between Königswinter and Bad Honnef in Germany. The hill was formed by rising magma that could not break through to the surface, and then cooled and became solid underneath. It is the subject of much tourism and romanticism in the North Rhine-Westphalia area.

King Fahd Academy (German: König-Fahd-Akademie, Arabic: أكاديمية الملك فهد بألمانيا. بون) was a school in Lannesdorf, Bad Godesberg district, Bonn, Germany. The school, with an attached mosque, housing elementary school through high school, opened in 1995. Financed by the King of Saudi Arabia and sponsored by Saudi Arabia, it was named after King Fahd. The school was closed at the end of the 2016/2017 school year, after long-running criticism that it was attracting Islamists to Germany. The school's last director was Ibrahim Al-Megren.
