Ballsbridge

Dublin 4, also rendered as D4 and D04, is a historic postal district of Dublin, Ireland including Baggot Street Upper, the southernmost fringes of the Dublin Docklands, and the suburbs of Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Irishtown, Merrion, Ringsend (including South Lotts and parts of Grand Canal Dock) and Sandymount, on the Southside of Dublin. Most of the area was known as Pembroke Township until 1930 when it was absorbed by the City and County Borough of Dublin. The headquarters of the national broadcaster RTÉ, the RDS, Merrion Centre, University College Dublin, Aviva Stadium, Google and a number of foreign embassies to Ireland are all located in Dublin 4.

Pembroke Town Hall (Irish: Halla an Bhaile Pembroke) is a municipal building in Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland. The building currently accommodates the offices of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

The chancery is located at 42 Elgin Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The Ambassador's Official Residence is located at the Deerfield Residence, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8.

In December 2024, Israel announced that its embassy in Ireland would close owing to what the Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sa'ar described as Irish "demonisation of the Jewish state" during the Gaza war. Ireland's Taoiseach, Simon Harris, responded to the announcement, saying "Ireland’s foreign policy is founded on our deep commitment to dialogue and to the peaceful resolution of disputes." He added, "I utterly reject the assertion that Ireland is anti-Israel. Ireland is pro-peace, pro-human rights and pro-international law." The Tánaiste, Micheál Martin said, "The continuation of the war in Gaza and the loss of innocent lives is simply unacceptable and contravenes international law. It represents the collective punishment of the Palestinian people in Gaza."

The Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, commonly called the Young Scientist Exhibition, is an Irish annual school students' science competition that has been held in the Royal Dublin Society, Dublin, Ireland, every January since the competition was founded by Tom Burke and Tony Scott in 1965.

The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) (Irish: Cumann Ríoga Bhaile Átha Cliath) is an Irish philanthropic organisation which was founded as the 'Dublin Society' on 25 June 1731 to see Ireland thrive culturally and economically. The RDS is synonymous with its campus in Ballsbridge in Dublin, Ireland. This campus includes the "RDS Arena", "RDS Simmonscourt", "RDS Main Hall" and other venues which are used regularly for exhibitions, concerts and sporting events, including regular use by the Leinster Rugby team. The Royal Dublin Society was granted Royal Patronage in 1820. RDS Members Club, itself a member of the International Associate Clubs (IAC) organisation, is a members-only club offering exclusive access to sports events on its premises and weekly luncheons and dinners.The RDS is one of nine organisations which can nominate candidates to contest the Agricultural Panel at Seanad elections.

RDS Arena is a multi-purpose sports stadium, owned by the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) and located in the Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge, Ireland. The arena was developed to host equestrian events, primarily the annual Dublin Horse Show, which was first held there in 1881. The site had been acquired in 1879 by the RDS. The primary tenants of the RDS Arena are Leinster Rugby who compete in the United Rugby Championship and Champions Cup. The arena has also hosted soccer and wrestling events and concerts. It has a capacity of 18,500, 16,500 of which is seated. The demountable north and south stands are removed for equestrian events, with only the Grandstand and Anglesea Stand permanent. The Anglesea Stand was completed in 1927.

Marian College is a Marist Catholic secondary school in Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland that was established in 1954.

St. Mary's Church, was a Church of Ireland, church in Donnybrook, Dublin. The church was consecrated in April 1830 on Anglesea Road. The church was de-consecrated by Archbishop of Dublin Michael Jackson, on July 3rd, 2020. Following the closure of the church the Parish was merged with Irishtown, to form the Irishtown and Donnybrook Union of Parishes, and served by St. Matthew's Parish Church.In the grounds is the War Memorial Cross, commemorating parishioners who died in the First World War, Second World War and Korean War.The alter furniture from the Church of Ireland Training College, Kildare Place, was given to St. Mary's following the College of Educations move Rathmine in 1969. It was returned to the college following the churches closure in 2020 and was moved to and rededicated in DCU All Hallows College Chapel, by the Archbishop of Dublin Michael Jackson, for use by Church of Ireland Centre and community there.Canon Arthur Gore Ryder DD, was the first Rector of Donnybrook (1867-1889) following St. Mary's separation from the archdeaconry of Dublin. Other clergy included Rector Rev. Dr. Robert Walsh and the Rev. Edward (Ted) Ardis. The final Rector of the church was the Rev. John Marchent.Two ancestors of Meghan Markle, Mary McCue and Thomas Bird, an English soldier, were married at St Mary's church, Donnybrook, in 1860.

The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) is a recognised college of the National University of Ireland. It was founded in 1957 at a meeting in Newman House where Tom Barrington became the first director and John Leydon its first president. It was established to be the main provider of education, training and development services for the public service in Ireland, as well as research services. Until 2018 it was a recognized college of University College Dublin.The Whitaker School of Government and Management brings the IPA’s education and research activities together, and offers more than 30 qualifications accredited by University College Dublin.
