Haslev Church

Until 1 January 2007, Haslev municipality was a Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 133 km², and had a total population of 14,781 (2005). Its last mayor was Henrik Christensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and site of its municipal council was the town of Haslev. Haslev municipality ceased to exist after the Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with the existing Fakse and Rønnede municipalities to form the new Faxe municipality. This new municipality, with an area of 406 km² and a total population of 34,313 (2005), belongs to the Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region").

Haslev, the largest town in Faxe municipality, lies in the southern part of Zealand, Denmark. About 60 km (37 mi) from Copenhagen, it has a population of 12,280 (1 January 2023).Haslev has six public schools: two boarding schools, a folk high school, a technical school, a college of education, and a sixth-form college. The estates and castles of Gisselfeld and Bregentved are close to Haslev.

Braaby Church (Danish: Bråby Kirke) is a Romanesque Danish church located in the Diocese of Roskilde, Faxe Municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand. There have been substantial Gothic additions to the original 12th-century building.

Gisselfeld, a former monastery, is Denmark's fifth-largest estate. Located between Haslev and Næstved, it extends into several municipalities but the main building is located in Braaby Parish in Faxe Municipality. The estate measures 3,850 hectares, including Hesede, Edelesminde, Brødebæk and Gødstrupgård, of which 2,400 hectares is forest. The three-storeyed Renaissance-style building has stepped gables, loopholes and a projecting tower over the main gate. The grounds include a moat, a well-kept park, lake, waterfall, gardens, greenhouse, and a fountain. A recent addition in its forest is a 45 meter tall hyperboloid tower.

Bregentved is a manor house located 3 km east of Haslev on the Danish island of Zealand. It has been owned by the Moltke family since the middle of the 18th century.

Freerslev Church (Danish: Freerslev Kirke) is located in the Danish Diocese of Roskilde, Faxe Municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand. Parts of the original Romanesque church subsist today although there have been substantial Gothic additions. Primitive 14th-century frescos have been uncovered in the arch of an old window on the north wall.

Vester Egede Church (Danish: Vester Egede Kirke) is a Danish parish church in the Diocese of Roskilde, Faxe Municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand. It is located some 10 km (6.2 mi) due west of Faxe. Today's building dates from 1876 although there is evidence of an earlier church on the site, probably built during the Romanesque period.

Rønnede was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Storstrøm County in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 125 km2, and had a total population of 7,289 (2005). Its last mayor was Kurt Rosner, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and site of its municipal council was the town of Rønnede with a population of 2,402 (1 January 2015)Neighboring municipalities were Fakse and Vallø to the east, Køge to the north, and Haslev, Holmegaard, and Fladså to the west. To the south was Fakse Bay (Fakse Bugt). On 1 January 2007 Rønnede municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It merged with the existing municipalities of Fakse and Haslev to form the new Faxe municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 406 km2 and a total population of 34,313 (2005). The new municipality belongs to the new Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region").

Rønnede is a town in Faxe Municipality, in Region Zealand, Denmark. Prior to the Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), it was the municipal seat of Rønnede Municipality.

Dalby is a town in Faxe Municipality, in Region Zealand, Denmark.

Giesegaard is a manor house and estate located in Ringsted Municipality in Denmark. The estate is owned by Michael Brockenhuus-Schack and has been owned by members of the Schack/Brockenhuus-Schack family since 1736. The oldest part of the main building was built in 1751 for countess Anna Sophie Schack but it was later expanded by an extra storey in 1847 and adapted in 1873 and again in 1904. It now appears as a two-storey, white-plastered building with two octagonal towers and black-glazed tile roofs. The estate covers 3,115 hectares of land.

Tingerup Tykke is a woodland located south of Rønnede on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. It is the site of source of the Suså River, Denmark's 5th largest river. Tingerup Tykke is located just south of Rønnede, some 20 kilometers east of Næstved.
