The Hochschule für Musik Freiburg ("University of Music Freiburg or Freiburg Conservatory of Music") is a public music academy subsidized by the State of Baden-Württemberg for academic research and artistic and pedagogical training in music.

The DFG / LFA Freiburg (French: Lycée Franco-Allemand de Fribourg; German: Deutsch-Französisches Gymnasium Freiburg im Breisgau) is a DFG/LFA, a public French-German secondary school in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. It offers free education from grades 5 through 12.The DFG Freiburg was established in 1972 (1972). Final year students take the French-German Baccalaureate, a diploma recognised by France as equivalent to the Baccalauréat, and by Germany as equivalent to the Abitur. For the final three years, students choose between literary, social, and natural science branches (L, ES and S) as is usual in French lycées.In 2017, on the occasion of the Treaty of Rome's 60th anniversary, the school's student representatives published a pro-European opinion piece saying "don't mess with the European Union".

The Muettersproch-Gsellschaft (MSG; society for the mother tongue) is a society established in 1967 whose goal it is to preserve and foster the Alemannic dialects. It currently has over 3,500 members from all Alemannic speaking areas, i.e. Alsace, Switzerland and Vorarlberg, but especially from South Baden. There are also members from all over Europe and the Americas. Most Alemannic authors, poets and singer-songwriters in South Baden are members of the society.

The Möslestadion is a soccer stadium in Freiburg im Breisgau. The stadium used to be home to the Freiburger FC. Today it is used by the second men's team and the Freiburg soccer school of the SC Freiburg. Since the 2008/09 season, the stadium has also been used for the SC Freiburg women's team. The stadium can hold about 5,400 spectators. A standing section wraps around the south, east, and west sides of the pitch, and a second standing section is located on the north side. Above the standing section to the south of the pitch are 1000 sheltered seats. The standing sections on the east and west sides behind the goals are closed.

Freiburg Charterhouse (Kartause Freiburg) is a former Carthusian monastery, or charterhouse, in Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Ganter is a private brewery based in Freiburg, Germany. It was founded in 1865 by Louis Ganter, and as of 2016 is run by Katharina Ganter-Fraschetti and Detlef Frankenberger. The brewery was founded in a three-story renaissance building which had previously belonged to Erasmus of Rotterdam, and in 1854 had become the Ringwald Brewery. Ten years later, the brewery moved to its current site on the outskirts of the town. The company fared badly throughout the start of the twentieth century, due to its position at the very centre of the crises of the First and Second World Wars. The historical building in the city centre was destroyed during Operation Tigerfish on 27 November 1944, followed by further bombings of brewery facilities on 2 and 3 December 1944.A successful reconstruction in the second half of the century led to the takeover of the Löwenbrauerei of Freiburg in 1979, and a partnership with the Inselbrauerei Feierling. The brewery now produces a 4.9% vol. Ganter pilsner, a "Freiburger" pilsner, a 5.2% special export beer, a light and dark 5.4% wheat beers and an alcohol-free beer. Also produced a strong Bock beer, Wodan. At 7.5% vol., this was first brewed in 1898 as a nourishing brew for long hungry winters. Alcohol-free drinks are now produced by the associated OGA (Oberrheinische Industrie- und Handelsgesellschaft, Ganter'sche Aktiengesellschaft), which was established in 1922 to make liqueur. A particularly successful orange-lemonade drink allowed the expansion into other fruit juices and lemonades. The grounds of the brewery played host to a concert by Diana Ross in 2005 (as part of the firm's 140th anniversary celebrations), and in 2006 the inner courtyard was used by Simply Red and Dieter Thomas Kuhn.

The Schlossbergturm or Castle Hill Tower is a 35 m high observation tower on Castle Hill Schlossberg on the edge of the historic Altstadt of Freiburg im Breisgau. It has 153 steps, its top is located 463 m above sea level and thus 185 m above the average altitude of the city (278 m). The tower's twisted design includes six tree trunks (Douglas-firs from the municipal forest of Freiburg) around a staircase made of steel. It has three platforms and the top is reached by a small spiral staircase. The tower offers a panoramic view of Freiburg and its surroundings. The tower is built on the grounds of the Fort de l'Aigle von Auban, also known locally as "Salzbüchsle", which are a continuation of the Black Forest into the city of Freiburg. It was designed by local Freiburg architect Hubert Horbach for the Kuratorium Freiburger Schlossberg, and built in 2002.It was funded in part by donations. For each donor a plaque with his or her name was attached to the vertical part of a step so that when climbing the tower one can read the names of the donors.

The Bismarck tower in Freiburg im Breisgau belongs to a series of towers that were built in honor of Otto von Bismarck, the first German chancellor. It is located on the Schlossberg. It is 12.6 m (41 ft) tall and has a square base (5.8x5.8 m or 19x19 ft). The top of the tower can only be reached by climbing a ladder. Because of this it can not be used as an observation deck.

The Schlossberg (German for 'Castle Hill') is a tree-covered hill of 456 metres (1,496 ft) located in the area of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is directly to the east of Freiburg's Old Town and is part of the Black Forest. The main geological fault is at the western edge of the Schlossberg, towards the Upper Rhine Graben.

Freiburg Castle is a vanished castle. When it existed it was usually called the Burghaldenschloss (motte-and-bailey castle).

The Leibniz Institute for Solar Physics (aka: KIS; German: Leibniz-Institut für Sonnenphysik), formerly known as Kiepenheuer Institute for Solar Physics (KIS) is a research institute located in Freiburg, Germany. As a member of the Leibniz Association, the institute conducts basic research in astronomy and astrophysics with a particular focus on solar physics. The institute's structure and operation is based on three strategic pillars: 1) fundamental research, 2) operation of the German solar telescope infrastructure on Tenerife, and 3) applied research in data science and operation of the Science Data Center. Institute's Professors appointed and habilitated at the University of Freiburg offer lectures at various university degree levels and train young scientists.

The Schlossbergbahn (English: Castle Hill Railway) is a funicular railway in the town of Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It links the city centre with the Schlossberg hill. The funicular was constructed in 2008, in order to replace a previous cable car that was used between 1968 and 2006. It is operated by the Schlossbergbahn GmbH & Co. KG. The line operates daily between 09:00 and 22:00 (18:00 on Tuesdays), and is accessible to wheelchairs.The funicular has the following technical parameters:
