Chester Presbyterian Church

Thomas Dale High School is a public high school located in Chester, an unincorporated community in Chesterfield County, Virginia, United States. It was named for Sir Thomas Dale, a 17th-century leader in the Virginia Colony. The high school is operated by the local school division, Chesterfield County Public Schools.

The Battle of Chester Station was fought on May 10, 1864, between Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The Confederates attacked portions of Benjamin Butler's Union forces.

The Battle of Proctor's Creek -- also referred to as Drewry's Bluff or Fort Darling -- was fought from May 12 to May 16, 1864, in Chesterfield County, Virginia, during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign of the American Civil War. Proctor's Creek was named for Charles Proctor, who lived and farmed on the land surrounding most of the creek.

Centralia is an unincorporated community located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The community is situated at the intersection of Virginia State Route 145 and State Route 144. It was so named because it was located at the midpoint of the old Richmond and Petersburg Railroad, later the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and today owned and operated by CSX. A historical marker was erected in 2014 by The Department of Historic Resources which says: "In 1867, the African American members of nearby Salem Baptist Church separated and founded Salem African Baptist Church. The new congregation held worship services under a brush arbor before constructing a building here on a one-acre tract deeded in 1869 by members of the mother church. The congregation soon changed its name to First Baptist Church (Centralia). Early in the 20th century, members erected a large new sanctuary incorporating elements of the Gothic Revival and Colonial Revival styles. Razed by fire in 1996, this structure was rebuilt to original specifications in 1997, In 1963, the growing congregation moved two miles east."

Proctor Creek, Jefferson Davis Highway Marker is a historic stone highway marker located near Richmond, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. It was erected in 1931, and is one of sixteen erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Virginia along the Jefferson Davis Highway between 1927 and 1946. The marker is a gray granite boulder with rough-cut edges. The stone is engraved with the text "ERECTED BY THE FIFTH DISTRICT VIRGINIA DIVISION UNITED DAUGHTERS OF THE CONFEDERACY 1931."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Bellwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chesterfield County, Virginia, United States. The population was 6,352 at the 2010 census. The community takes its name from from Bellwood, one of the James River Plantations.

Kingsland, also known as Richmond View, was a historic plantation house located at Chimney Corner, Chesterfield County, Virginia. It was built about 1805, and consisted of a 1+1⁄2-story, frame structure with a rear ell. The main section measured 20 feet by 40 feet and the rear ell extended 55 feet. The house featured a center chimney. Also on the property was a contributing smokehouse. It was moved and reconstructed in 1994. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Battle of Port Walthall Junction was fought May 6–7, 1864, between Union and Confederate forces during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign of the American Civil War. Although initially successful, the Confederates were eventually defeated, allowing Union forces to cut a railroad. The Port Walthall Junction on the Richmond-Petersburg Railroad connected with the spur to Port Walthall.
